They have and ok selection of stock but they need to expand. It's tough to get to the stock when the gaming tables are being used.

The owner is a really cool guy, absolutely none of my commentary here applies to him. I liked this…read moreplace pre-remodel. Now it's so much more impersonal and cold. It used to feel like a chill hole in the wall full of cool people, now it feels very cold and depressing. The layout feels less intuitive to navigate, too but that's more of a nitpick. I used to play Digimon here between 2021 and 2023. They were generally fun and the players were mostly great, aside from the tourists who were only playing because they're mad at Magic and Pokemon, but that's not a conversation for a Yelp review about this store. My one complaint was how a lot of the employees were super elitist about it because it wasn't a popular "real" card game. Not even just saying that, an employee once straight up said I should "graduate to a real card game". I don't remember which employee it was, but the lack of self awareness of someone talking down to someone over TCGs astounds me. I remember two players having a ruling issue during a Digimon tourney and the same employee proctoring the games was very insulting and irritated the whole time, rolling his eyes, complaining and saying he didn't "understand this crap". It's bad enough that an employee does not know the rules of games they are proctoring at a game shop that's hosting the tournaments, but to have such a crappy demeanor? I know geeks are socially challenged, I'm not an exception to this but ffs try, it's your job man. Absolutely not something that makes you wanna come back. I briefly switched to SoCal Games and Comics (now Sanctum) after that, but my issue with that shop was the playerbase, not the employees. I've had some employees not know what they're doing regarding bonus packs that come with booster boxes before, and at least twice have had ones not given to me despite me visibly seeing them in stock. If you work at a game store you should know what releases come with what. That said, there was one employee who was excellent about it and props to him. That guy played Digimon, though, so that's likely why he knew what he was doing. Anyway, I still shop here from time to time but I don't really have a reason to come back now that they've stopped hosting Digimon tournaments in lieu of One Piece (Bandai treats the properties similarly!), which is fine considering the poor judging/proctoring. One Piece probably comes off more like a 'real' card game so best of luck and all. That event really left a bad taste in my mouth about this place, unfortunately. I will say the prices are good, they don't inflate them like other card shops do.

This store is unfortunately starting to feel more like a GameStop than a dedicated TCG shop. The…read morebiggest issue is the "Cultist" membership, which costs approximately $70 per month and, in my opinion, provides very little value for the average customer. The advertised benefits include access to sealed products at market pricing, 5% off singles, and entries into a lottery for the opportunity to purchase certain products at MSRP. However, these perks fall short when the store often has a very limited selection of singles available. Most of the binder inventory consists of heavily played or damaged cards, and there is rarely enough desirable inventory in-store to justify the membership cost. What makes this especially disappointing is that the store wasn't always this way. There was a time when they carried a strong selection of collectible cards and competitively priced sealed products. Today, the retail location feels more like a means to maintain distributor relationships than a store focused on serving the local community. While they are undoubtedly one of the largest names in the TCG industry, that reputation seems to come primarily from their presence at conventions and card shows. The physical storefront often lacks the inventory and customer experience that many collectors expect from a premier hobby shop. To their credit, they offer respectable trade-in values. Unfortunately, those trade-in percentages lose much of their appeal when there is little desirable inventory available to put that store credit toward. On the rare occasions that higher-end products or graded cards are available, the selection tends to be limited and often consists of less sought-after CGC or TAG slabs rather than cards many collectors are actively looking for. I genuinely used to enjoy visiting this store, which makes this review disappointing to write. However, based on my recent experiences, there are better local options for collectors and players looking for inventory, value, and an authentic hobby shop experience. Stores like Rizo and Tier 1 have done a much better job of maintaining the qualities that make a card shop worth visiting.

Though there are other shops in the area that are closer to where I live, I never hesitate to go out of my way to come here. The people there are always welcoming, knowledgeable, and engaging. Through their various events, they've also created a community of collectors that I'm happy to be a part of. The other card shops in the area don't seem to engage with the community on the same level as Honey Hole. The prices are very reasonable and the selection of products and singles is always rich and dynamic. For better or for worse, I never fail to find something new I want to pick up. I also appreciate the fact that they have a partnership with a pre-grading/card cleaning company, Market2Mint. For someone that was new to grading cards, the ease of dropping cards off at the shop to be pre-graded really helped me get my collection to the next level. Special shoutout to Matt who leads the team there. My wife and I always enjoy spending extra time hanging out and talking to him and the team about the latest and greatest. The other two locations in Southern California (Escondido & San Diego) are also great and are definitely worth checking out. Definitely don't miss this place if you're deep in the hobby or just starting out.

The staff seemed more interested in arguing over the smallest details than having a normal conversation with a customer. I also wasn't comfortable with how they handled pricing. The values they quoted were nowhere near what I was seeing elsewhere, and it left me feeling like they were taking advantage of customers who might not know the market. Whether that's the intention or not, that's how the experience came across to me. Couldn't find what I was looking for anyway. There are too many good card shops out there to deal with that kind of attitude. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

It's tucked in a tiny plaza right next to Panda Express, and the parking is super convenient -- there's plenty of space so you don't have to circle forever. This place is absolutely adorable inside, with tons of claw machines full of plushies, anime figures, keychains, gacha machines, and fun collectibles that make your heart go . They also have snacks, drinks, and lots of cute merch to browse while you play! Hours: * Monday-Thursday & Sunday: 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM * Friday & Saturday: 11:30 AM - 9:00 PM These hours make it perfect for an after‑school stop, a weekend outing, or a fun date! Play Card / Ticket Tips: They use a play card system -- you load tickets/credits onto a card and then use it to play the machines. I recommend grabbing enough credits so you can play a few machines without having to reload right away! (It just makes it more fun & less stop‑start.) Pro tip: If you win something, staff are super friendly and happy to help you get your prize out of the machine or exchange it! What I LOVED: The customer service is AMAZING -- had the same sweet lady helping us both times, and she made the visit extra special. So many adorable prizes and anime figurines that are actually worth trying for! Cute shopping vibe, great for kids AND adults who love kawaii stuff! What could be better: One machine wasn't working the day we went -- kind of a bummer! A few machines sometimes have repeats of the same plushies if you've visited before. But honestly, still cute overall! If you're into claw machines, cute anime merch, and fun little hangouts, this place is an absolute must‑visit!
