Came here with a group of 8 around 6 and was told we had to wait an hour for our table. When we were finally seated our waitress promptly got us drinks. I ordered a Caesar salad with my lobster Mac. It came out but was huge chunks of lettuce. I had to do a lot of cutting. The croutons on the salad were like rye croutons and were not good. When our food came my lobster Mac had huge chunks of lobster in it. It was very good and it was a lot of food. The ribs my dad had were fall off the bone and were delicious. The coconut shrimp was very good. The espresso Martini they gave my sister tasted like straight alcohol it wasn't good. If you are going to have a "nice" restaurant like this allow groups of 6 or more to make reservations ahead of time. It is also very very loud in the restaurant which makes it hard to hold a conversation.

Lobster Roll with fries and a small order of full belly clams

We visited here on a beautiful sunny Friday for lunch. We were craving some ocean air with views and we picked a great spot. There is plenty of parking, the employees are super friendly and the restaurant is large with plenty of seating with large windows overlooking the harbor & marina area which was pretty. They also had a good sized bar area for those that prefer sitting at a bar. In addition, they also have outdoor seating and the only reason we didn't sit outside is because it was too windy the day we visited. My hubby had a few IPA's and I was driving that day so I had a soda. He ordered a lobster roll and a small order of full belly clams with French fries. He loved both! He said both were very fresh and delicious. I am not a seafood girl so I ordered a small wedge salad (which was big!) and it was so good. Fresh produce, plenty of blue cheese bits with plenty of dressing and red onion. I got a bacon cheddar burger on a nice brioche roll with fries. It was cooked just the way I like it. We were so stuffed we didn't order dessert. The dessert menu was so tempting with several choices. Our servers name was Amy. She was polite and helpful. We will def visit again.

Just had an amazing lunch on the deck overlooking the water and a nice boat ramp! We ate like kings for the price! Great specials were offered. Food was hot & fresh. Server was attentive. Nice atmosphere. So glad we stopped in!

Beautiful location on the water. I enjoyed the steamers and had a great 1.5 pound lobster. This place has a great craft beer selection. Would unreservedly return here.

Drinks with a view!!

View was great and food was fantastic. Service was quick and attentive. Try one of their signature cocktails. We will be back.

What a view!

What a delightful place. We came upon this gem of a place while searching for dinner on the water. The cocktails were luscious and the seafood divine. They even have Adirondack chairs to sit in after dining and gaze out at the water! Just go!! You'll not regret it

Fried BIG BELLY Clams

We spent 3 days in Oqunguit and was looking for a good seafood restaurant. We wanted Big Belly Clams on this April night last week 4/20, and decided to go to HOBBS, and we were not disappointed, one of the best clam dishes we ever had. Food, drinks & dessert were great , the staff and our waiter Joe was terrific! Can't say enough about our experience Will go back whenever we are close by!!

The seafood chowder was tasty and had lobster and scallops in it, but I probably wouldn't pay $16.99 for another bowl of it.

HUGE shout out to Michelle, Eli, Coop, Jessica and the ENTIRE staff at The Catch for helping us…read morehost a pre-wedding welcome party on 9/5/26! We wanted a casual, fun, typical Maine setting for our out-of-town guests and The Catch exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent - lobster rolls, grilled swordfish tacos, mini fisherman platters and of course...New England chowder! And whoopie pies for dessert! The new backyard patio provided beautiful views of the marsh and the fire pits and cornhole games added to the ambience. Our guests had such a good time and we're still getting compliments a week later. Everyone was so accommodating and easy to work with. Service was excellent! Thank you for a fun and memorable "night before!" Looking forward to visiting next year!! Fran, Josh and Lorianne

This used to be one of my favorite seafood spots, but apparently it was sold a couple years ago…read more Today is the first time we've gotten the chance to go and it was a disappointing and frustrating experience. I'd been coming here for at least 20 years, and in recent years it had been a favorite spot to eat outside when traveling with my dog. But now, we are not allowed to eat outside with a dog. Instead we had to order to-go and then walk down back to a 'dog area' which is a spot to the left of the building, below the parking area with one picnic table and some chairs in the woods. It was a beautiful sunny day, but we were getting eaten alive by no-seeums, which is not a nice experience when paying $100 for 1 meal with 6 scallops, 4 small pieces of fried fish, fries and slaw, an order of onion rings, a small clam chowder, and 2 beers. And $50 for a small lobster, an ear of corn, and an iced tea. I get that this is a tourist area, but $12 for a beer in a plastic cup and a $7.50 up charge for 6 scallops while being banished to a buggy spot that made eating very uncomfortable is a big no thank you for me. Crossing this place off my list, sadly. The upgrades and changes to this place are not a bonus at all. I'm sad that a place I always felt was friendly and welcoming is now overpriced and we all felt like we were being treated as second class citizens.

My sister, who lives in Wells, sent us here on our first day. My Mom really wanted some chowder…read more Initial Service was super fast. We ordered Mozarella sticks that were pretty good. My Mom ordered a cup of chowder, thank goodness she didn't order the bowl because she said it was absolutely awful. To be fair, their menu does explain how theirs is different from typical chowder. My Mom said it was really watery and had no flavor. Luckily she also ordered some shrimp, whichi took a while to come out but were great. I ordered the chicken breast plain sandwich with no tomatoes, fried, and a side Caesar salad with blue cheese dressing. They brought it out with the tomato, good thing I am not allergic to tomatoes. The sandwich was great, tons of chicken and it wasn't too dry. I learned about "buckie" rolls and that they are soft and break easily. I ended up eating my chicken with a fork!! I needed more dressing and the server didn't bring in a timely fashion, the lettuce being wilted by the time she brought it. The pickle on the plate was good, but the fries were just OK. We were able to get a window seat in the bar, which made for a nice start to our Maine vacation. I would come here again, and would probably order the same thing. My mom, however, would probably not!!

We went on $1 oyster day, and they were fresh and delicious. Service was a little slow but it looked like there was some new staff training. The restaurant sits on the edge of the salt marsh so some nice dining views. All in all a nice spot for our lunch.

This is a very busy place. Should you desire lobster, you can see them - live- ahead of time…read more They do eat in, and from what I observed, a very hefty take out business as well. I had scallop dinner to go. Mucho scallops & fries. Wasn't crazy about the cole slaw, but it wasn't a show stopper. Best to call ahead if you do take out. The setting is indoor & outdoor with all the usual Maine stuff on the interior walls. Ambience is very family friendly. Kids love looking at the creatures in their holding tanks. Lobster sold by weight, which they do right in front of you. You can by fish there, which you take home and cook yourself- saw local folks doing just that. Worth going, worth revisiting.

We wanted to pick up some fresh shrimp here and were also hungry. We ordered everything and dined…read moreinside. My sister indicated that this place has been thoroughly redone after the crazy storm a couple years back. They did a good job with their space. I ordered chicken strips and they were horrible. They were dry and the coating was applied improperly. Sort of like straight flour on naken chicken and then fried. I was picking strands of chicken out of my teeth for hours!! The fries were nothing special either. Disappointed because this place was SO crowded. Apparently they are known for the other food they offer, which makes sense. My family seemed fine with their orders. We picked up our "fresh" (actually frozen) shrimp and had a great dinner later. I wouldn't go here again, but then again I am not a fan of fish and seafood. If they had a burger option I might try it next time my family goes here.

A classic maine seafood restaurant. Diner vibes. Ordered clam strip pint and they were as expected…read morejust wish they were a little hotter temperature wise. The coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries were also super yummy. Right next to the beach so you can take it and sit in the sand.

I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately our experience was really disappointing…read more I ordered the scallop basket with fries, which costs about $15 more than the shrimp basket, but when I got home and unpacked the takeout, I discovered they had given me the shrimp instead. To make matters worse, the shrimp were some of the smallest I've ever seen--I've honestly bought larger frozen shrimp at Aldi. I called hoping they would simply refund the price difference since the mistake was theirs. Instead, I was told they couldn't do that over the phone. Their solution was for me to pack up my dinner, walk 10 minutes back through a busy beach town, wait for them to remake the order, and then walk home again. By that point, dinner was delayed by nearly an hour because of their error. While I waited, they offered us free ice cream. I appreciate the gesture, but we hadn't even eaten dinner yet, so it completely missed the point. A refund of the price difference or another reasonable solution would have been much more appropriate. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. Customers shouldn't have to spend additional time and effort fixing a restaurant's mistake, especially after paying extra for a premium item.
