Bbq pork on rice with veggies
    Janine W.

It's a take out place only. FYI $6 for bbq pork on rice comes with soup and veggies. Cash only I think. Definitely a good deal. I mean when is the last time you got a meal for that price? Not in the 2000!! The pork is charred pretty good if you like that. It's a bit fattier than other places I've had it but that does attribute to it not being dry. If I'm in the area, it's definitely worth getting you can buy 2 for $12 and that would be enough for a big eater for 2 meals for smaller to normal appetites. There can be a line up. But it's not as bad as other places plus the soup is decent

Delicious marinade and prices that can't be beat. No regrets on the taste and the value. But they didn't ask if I wanted a lean or fatty BBQ pork, and just gave me a super fatty one. I chewed some pure fat pieces. I think I will stir fry the rest of the BBQ pork.

Hoho is a small Chinese BBQ place for takeout only. I just can't say enough good things about it, in nowadays it's hard to find!they are still keeping their $6 for two kinds combo with free soup, and including tax! When other restaurants had increased the price several times already, which usually is double price at $12.99+tax. Their quality is good too, especially the bbq duck and roast pork! I would give 6/5 if I could! The service is fast but usually they have a long line up

3.5 STARS Came back from a mini getaway trip and needed something quick for dinner. Stopped by Ho ho bbq to give it a try. Ordered some roasted pork and half a roasted duck. Total came to $41 and change. Went home and cooked some rice. Upon first taste, the duck was okay, the taste was there, but lacking a flavour that brings it together. The roasted pork was not so good here, I've had better roasted pork and this place was my least favourite, and the sauce that came with it was kind of weird (think of bbq sauce but make it asian). mr. Tran really enjoys roasted duck with plum sauce, but they only gave us 1 packet of sauce... Don't think I will be returning as there are better bbq establishments elsewhere.

Thursday is roast pork special day $5.99 /lb or $7.99 lb if you want ribs. In this economy, what a deal! You'll be surrounded by people queueing to access their excellent Chinese style bbq meat. The ambiance is not that amazing, since it is takeout place. Service is fast, they already have rice boxes lined up to go. $6 for a box of rice and meat veggies and soup!! Cash only so prepare beforehand.

    Lunch special $6.00

Came here for a quick lunch with my wife. Ordered the $6 special. There was a small lineup outside the store. I ordered the bbq pork and roasted pork ribs and wife got bbq pork and roasted duck. The bbq pork was decent but i wouldn't say a standout. It needed some honey bbq sauce. The roasted pork rib has delicious and not too much fat. I would have liked more crispy skin but you get what you pay for. Wife's roasted duck was good however portions were a bit smaller because duck is considered an expensive commodity in the Chinese bbq business! Both boxed came with generous portion of steamed rice and steamed Yu Choy vegetables. There was also a house soup served with the lunch box. Soup was nothing special but at least it didn't have MSG. Would have liked they gave some extra Hoisin sauce and plum sauce on the side. There's a food court you can go inside and eat your delicious bbq food. For budget minded people this is a great option to grab a quick bite or if you want order some chinese bbq a la carte. Check out their daily specials as well. Cheers.

Ho Ho BBQ has really good daily deals which means there's usually a line on particular days. Notably it's $17 for a while roast duck on Tuesdays, and $5.99/lb for roast pork on Thursdays. Those are the only two items worth getting imo. Their cha siu is rather bland. Their duck is the best in all of the GTA imo. Roast pork is pretty good, marinated well and crispy skin so worth going on Thursday. Be warned though. This is not the most honest business on the block. In fact, for some reason all the BBQ shops in this plaza have a tendency to tweak the weight of your roast meats and/or try to switch out the pieces you've picked with off cuts on the cutting board. Definitely keep an eagle eye on them and call it out when you see it.

BBQ pork, roast pork, rice and vegetable.

Unbelievable value! Two meats, rice and vegetable with soup (broth) and a drink for $6! And the portions are huge! Why would anyone eat fast food? Friendly staff, some don't speak very good English, but manage okay. It's a hole in the wall. Tiny place, if you're squeamish at all about immaculate conditions, not for you, but if you love delicious food at great prices, definitely give it a go!

Your whole in the wall place in a run-down plaza type of setting. There is always a line up when we go, but it's a small shop that can fit 2-3 people (more if you squeeze). Don't expect much in terms of overall cleanliness or appearance. We come here for there Roasted Pork Thursday deal (5.99/lb) and also got a duck. Found the pork a little too salty than most places but the duck was yumm. Service and transaction is quick. Cash only.

Ho Ho bbq is well known given its quality and prices. We got the bbq pork and it was quite good. Moist, even the leaner pieces, and flavorful. Love the end pieces with that slight char. 4/5. The roasted pork was awesome. The skin was crispy, crunchy and most pieces only had a small fat layer though some had more. It was juicy and succulent. Just the right amount of salt. 4.5/5. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

Busy venue that serves reasonably priced Chinese bbq. Appreciate that they use free range chicken for their soya chicken.

    Wendy H.

Great place for very affordable rice boxes. Two items (excluding duck) on rice with soup or beverage for $6. A friendly neighbour introduced us to this place, and it is quite the deal. Their roasted pork and bbq pork are good. I usually request leaner cuts. The leaner cuts of bbq pork can be quite dry so buyer beware. The roasted pork has nice crispy skin. The daily soup goes nicely with this meal, if you're not into soup, they also offer a small selection of soda cans. Only downside is they don't give you sauce for the roasted pork.

    Pork, duck and cha siu
    Jo M.

Found this on Yelp and picked it cause it had a higher rating than the other shops all lined up serving the same thing! There were only a few people in line for Ho Ho, but there was a line out the door a few shops down. Probably should've gone to the other place, but this one was ok. Pork was ok. The skin was still crispy when we got back to the hotel. Duck wasn't anything special. Cha siu was ok. This w all about average for us, although I know our moms would say it wasn't good. Next time, I'll have to try the other place with the longer line.

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

This is a new Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. The spicy dishes emphasize…read morespiciness, not numbness. A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026
