I recently picked up some roast pork and bbq duck and had a moment...again. Their roast pork (with ribs) is sooooooo good. The meat is perfectly seasoned and impossibly juicy. And the skin is just what you would expect from a perfect roast pork; Cruncy satisfaction that will send all ASMR eating fans on a serious bender. There is just no other place I have been to that consistently impresses me at this level. Their duck, however, is not our top pick but who cares?! No doubt the secret recipe for the actual sauce/seasoning, goes back a few hundred years or more. The pork has the perfect ratio of fat to meat --- and it literally melts in your mouth. You can choose a variety of BBQ pork products, including the most decadent pork of all time - suckling pig, crispy and fairly dry (in a good way) crackling. They also have BBQ chicken, duck, duck feet and what appear to be pigs' ear which I love. They have reopen! Bought a whole roast duck a few weeks ago. We lucked out because they brought out fresh ones! The skin was still a bit crispy when we got home. The duck meat was well marinated as I could taste the marinade and spices in the meat (star anise etc.). Not overly salty at all. Tip: Drink some hot tea to cut the fattiness of the duck. 5 stars for their roast pork (pay a little more for the belly ("Siu lauhm"), if available), char siu, and roast duck. I'd pass on their free run chicken, other places make a better one. read more

I don't.... understand why the reviews on this page are all so high. We have given this place plenty of chances and we've never had a good experience here. The owners are very rude every time and they include extra pieces of undesirable meat into our order every time. In our experience, they are extremely dishonest and the quality of the food is akin to their crappy customer service. During our latest visit, we ordered roasted crispy skin pork and we only received a handful of pieces of crispy skin with our order. The majority of it was fat and chewy pork. We also ordered BBQ pork and most of it was hard and did not taste very fresh. The scale they use seemed to already have some weight on it and when we asked about it, the lady who was helping us out got really mad and it *SEEMED* like she took out a few pieces of the BBQ pork from the box after weighing it. Just what we thought we saw -shrug-. When we opened the box, half of the top layer of meat was missing. A few months ago we came here for roasted pork. We did not want to have it be cut and the man who was helping us tossed in some random pieces of crappy pork with our order and weighed it with like 5 pieces of butchers paper. Not cool man. Why would you be mad when it's less work for you? Anyway, not very happy with our experiences here. Disregarding the dishonesty of the staff, the food has always just been mediocre in our experience. DONT BUY FROM TONG HA I recently purchased food from this restaurant TONG HA through uber eats, i was eating my food when I FOUND A COCKROACH in my food. I wrote a review the same day,. reported this to uber eats and found that TONG HA had responded to my review stating it was inaccurate or a fake claim. I found this to be regrettably disturbing since i was providing them an opportunity to take responsibility and issue an apology, instead although Uber Eats reported my claim to them along with my supporting photos to back up my claim. TONG HA has denied and they probably will report this to Google and have it taken down. but I will continue to post this for the safety of the public and for general awareness. I understand the food industry is going through tough times because of the pandemic, but this should not excuse the health and safety of their customers, disregarding any sanitary protocols, or from taking any accountability for what they provide to their customers. TONG HA has asked for photo evidence. i posted my original post to see if they would take accountability, but since they have not. be careful what you ask for. I am supporting this review with the following photos: a) PHOTO EVIDENCE of the COCKROACH in my food, which unfortunately i did not discover until after a few bites of my food. I shared this to Uber but decided not to share publicly, until now. b) My receipt from Uber eats which totals, $0, because they refunded my food but charged me for my tip for the delivery which i understand but do not agree with just a refund for compensation. Their tofu is fresh and delicious, and has a tendency to get sold out before I go. Boo. But when I get some, it's always great. On my last visit (Sunday afternoon), I was a tad apprehensive about getting the char siu, because it didn't look particularly aesthetically pleasing on the outside. I'm not saying it looked bad, because it in no way looked bad. I'm just saying it didn't look quite red enough and glossy enough. I suppose I should really appreciate that it wasn't any redder, because the red comes from coloring. I ordered it anyways, because I know their char siu is usually quite on point. I was right. When he sliced up my char siu, the inside was ridiculously juicy and tender and looked absolutely incredible. It tasted incredible too. It helps that they gave us lots of that sweet, sticky glaze on top of our char siu. Mmmm. So good. And the pricing is good too. At $6.99/lb, I can get lots and lots and lots of char siu. Yeah. Ever since the food court shrunk due to the fact that they're adding another retail space, it was extremely crowded on a Tuesday afternoon. Like always, the longest lineups were at Canton Kitchen and Tong Ha BBQ. My sister and I shared the BBQ Pork and Soya Chicken on Rice, while my grandma had the Roast Pork and Roast Duck combination on Rice. The BBQ Pork looked aesthetically pleasing, and it sure was tasty with enough flavour. The Soya Chicken was good too, however it was still pretty bloody on the inside. My grandma enjoyed the Roast Duck and Roast Pork, but said that the Pork was on the saltier side. There were barely any pieces of that crispy skin which was disappointing cause that's the best part! I visit Scarborough once a year to see my grandma and found this place through Yelp. I tried this place once after I read about it and my family enjoyed the bbq pork (char siu) and roast pork. It was pretty good that my parents came back on their own free will (usually I have to convince them to try new places). They are also going to recommend this to my relatives when they come into town next month. It's located inside a food court in the corner of the center. I brought a whole pig last week to celebrate Chinese New Year. $168 for a medium size pig. Can anyone tell me what happened to this pig? 1. The whole pig have 2 taste, some meat are too salty and some have no taste at all. 2. The pig was cut into pieces but didn't put back into the shape it supposed to be. (never see a whole pig will put in vertical, picture shown) 3. Most of the rib part (the best part) are missing, lots of thick meat mixed together looks like the meat is more than the pig supposed to have. When you see a long line up at a BBQ place, it usually means its either really good or it's really cheap. This place isn't cheap, but the food is really good. I went here today to pick up some take out for dinner, yay for me. I love how clean and sparkly everything looked. I was instantly mesmerized by the fat juicy duck. The skin looked like it was so plump and crispy. I turn my head a little and I see the yummy honey caramelized bbq pork that had a slight char to it. Now that's what I call a good BBQ place! Decided to stop by the Food Court since I was in the area. It's been a while and I noticed a new addition - Tong Ha Supreme BBQ. Around 6pm on a Saturday, this was the only place that had a line-up... Must be good! I'm a sucker for char siu (honey pork bbq) and the roast pork so I definitely had to get those. At about $5.50/$6.00 per pound, that's pretty good and the flavour is top notch. Pork bbq had a good balance of sweet and savoury - I asked for extra sauce to pour on rice. Roast pork had very crispy skin and soft meat. I'm loving the service! It was very quick and I got smiles from the guy hanging the meats, the guy chopping and the guy at the cash. I didn't bother checking out the other resto, I followed the line up and ended up here and boy was I satisfied! They specialize is duck and pork, so I had to give it a try. I ordered the roast pork and bbq duck on rice (2 items on rice). It also comes with soup and buk choy. The roast pork was super tender and flavour is amazing! My only complaint is that I didn't get enough of the crispy rind, I got like 3 crispy rinds- very disappointing! That's the best part!!! The bbq duck was flavourful but slightly chewy.
