Location/Service This place is right in the plaza of Woodbine and 16th - where T&T and Sportchek is. It's located on the Chatime side. Plenty of parking available. Inside is set up more of a takeout and to go layout. There are some seating available if you want to eat right away. Staff were nice. Went when they were recently opened - so they made a few recommendations and suggestions if you don't know what to order. Food I dined in and tried the "double with rice" for $12. It is a little in the pricer side in my opinion. I chose the char siu and red sausage as it's my usual go-to. The char siu overall was just okay. It was chewy, but I didn't felt it was flavourful in terms of being well marinated. The sausage was typical - can't go wrong there. I also found the food to rice ratio was a bit off - with more on the rice, so I had to portion carefully when eating. The bak choy that came with it was fine too. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with this place and it was a little hard for me to justify going back. I ordered two rice boxes from Char siu manor since I wanted to try a rice box from somewhere else other than the two infamous ones at FMP. I saw that they had sweet and sour pork as an option and got myself that and chicken. mr. Tran got his usual char siu and roasted duck on rice. I also got some tofu as well. At first glance, it looked good, but the portions of the meats are less compared to the ones at FMP, but flavor of char siu and roasted duck was decent. The sweet and sour pork was meh, but the chicken was tender. The rice box does come with a side of napa cabbage stir fry which I did not like, because it had that strong tap water taste which I hate. The tofu was okay, a little on the bland side, could use a bit more salt. I think I'll stick to my rice box at FMP. read more

Good-looking dishes, good for IG, but not that tasty. BBQs were chewy and subpar. After finishing the meal, we were told to return the dishes to the tray rack "like IKEA" in a friendly manner. Well, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ cheap, cheap, cheap. All I can say is good portion and the servers were friendly BUT no service whatsoever. As far as the price value is concerned, there are better Chinese BBQ places in Markham & Richmond Hill unquestionably. I probably would not return here coz the ingredient quality is low. read more

Char Siu Manor looks very promising from outside, there are lots of photos of juicy BBQ meats. Good value for a $9.75 cash two option meal that comes with a drink or soup. Lady behind the counter was beyond friendly. Unfortunately, meat quality is lacking - the signature bbq pork was dried and very lean. more flavour/sauce would be appreciated for the whole rice dish. We came early in the morning when they first opened, it's possible the meats are not as good and we caught them at a bad time because other photos look quite different from our meal. read more

Bbq pork wasn't very hot though and I don't believe they used the traditional honey sauce...at least it tasted a little different to me. Roasted duck was on par and meaty. Thumbs up for that. I've been eyeing this establishment in the Cachet Centre plaza for about a month now since first spotting the signage. They had their soft opening today. The space feels bright and clean. There are a few tables for dine in but this is more of a takeout establishment. For their soft opening they were offering 10% off purchases. Like other Chinese barbecue places, the cost is weight based. We bought 0.66 pounds of char siu and 0.77 pounds of roast pork, each selling for $10.99 per pound. The total of our purchases came to $16.40 including the 10% off. The roast pork was tender and not at all dry. The skin was crispy but not the crispiest I've had. The barbecue pork was moist, and covered in a slightly sweet glaze. I appreciated that neither of these products were salty. They take cash and debit payment only. read more

TLDR - Too expensive. The tastes of the marinates is good, so the meat tastes good, but the char siu I had tasted of residual alkaline. Does Char Siu Manor serve some of the better quality BBQ in this neighbourhood? Yes in relative terms. But no in absolute term in my humble opinion. I visited once and I ordered char siu and roast duck. The char siu I had, once and only once, tasted of residual alkaline. It was relatively obvious, at least to anyone who have cooked with meat pre-treated with baking soda before. This spoke of skipping a step or two to rinse the meat before marinating and barbequeing. Let's not forget it costs $11/lb. The roast duck tasted good, but from the meat texture I suspected it used a frozen duck. For $50 this is one very expensive BBQ duck made from frozen duck. read more

Very pricey. However the issue is that its very worth it... I've tried the 3 main meats from here (Roast Pork, BBQ Pork and Roast Duck) and its very good overall. The Roast Pork is nicely done with crispy skin along with tender and juicy meat. I've only gotten it twice and both times are still pretty consistent, time will tell if they remain like this. The other BBQ places are also very good but suffer in consistency. The Roast Duck is a bit meh imo, its nearly double the price of a supermarket duck and it was not 2x better. I wouldn't get it again imo due to the high price. The best however is the BBQ Pork (ChaSiu). Its slightly sweet and well seasoned, but the standout is how tender it is. I got a very lean piece but its powdery soft that almost disintegrates in your mouth, its even somewhat juicy. It 100% reminds me of the good BBQ Pork I've had in Hong Kong. They poured a bit of sauce in the takeout container which elevates it even more. This is a 100% recommendation for their BBQ Pork, which is why their name has BBQ Pork in it I guess. I'll come here again just for the BBQ Pork if I want to splurge and get the best around. read more

Really good. Loved the marbling in the pork belly cuts... layer of meat intertwined with layer of rich fat. Mmmmm... the combination is so juicy. The skin/crackling is not hard but super crispy... there a difference. This is likely a preference thing. But I'd like to have the crackling get a touch of salt to give it some more goodness. So so close to perfect. Price is about average for better than average flavors. And service is much faster than another place we frequent. Well be coming back to try some of the other bbq meats. read more

Finally something decent in Markham and close to where I live. I was excited to try this place and it did not disappoint. I've lined up for 15 minutes however it was well worth the wait. The roasted pork was juicy and the skin was crispy with the right amount of seasoning. The roasted duck was aromatic, flavourful and the meat was tender. Visited this newly opened BBQ shop. It's a nice place for a quick meal. It's not too big and it was quiet. The service was great and the cashier actively asked me to get more side dishes along with the bbq roasted pork I ordered. The skin was no doubt crispy but I found the the meat tasted a bit gamey. Customer beware. On Feb 10, I went in at 10:30 to order 2 items, both char siu and 燒肉. I must say char SIU was quite good and warm when I pickup the item. However, I also ordered 燒肉 and when I got home, the meat and fat was actually cold and jel up. That proven the meat was left over from previous night and they simply sold that to me. This will be my last time to buy from this place. Very very dishonest meat shop and I just wanted everyone to be aware of this. Such a bad experience. read more

I 100% regret believing the 4-5 star reviews. I've honestly never tasted any char siu or roast duck as bad as this place. I didn't take a pic but my roast duck looked like braised duck, yup, you got it, no crispy skin, just soggy skin and some pieces had thick hairs on it. Duck was sooooo bland and tasteless that all I could taste was the gaminess of it. The char siu was juicy, I'll give it that, but it was also flavourLESS. I don't usually write off a restaurant at first try but on top of the bad food, the cashier was so rude, my overall experience was quite unpleasant so I definitely won't be giving it a second chance. read more
