Conveniently located in Chinatown, I truly enjoyed HK cafe. I had cold ovaltine milk chocolate drink and I must say their drink is same as how HK restaurants/cafes does. Me and a bunch of my friend went here last Sunday during lunch time. It was a soft opening and we waited about an hour and a half. We order a bunch of different dishes but I myself got the beef omelet on rice and a milk tea and coffee. The beef omelet on rice has a selection of satay or black pepper and I went and got the black pepper. It was really good with generous amount of beef. It was a lot of food but I finished it since I was hungry. The milk tea and coffee was really good also because it wasn't sweet like other drinks you get in other places. Overall experience was good other than the long wait but it is reasonable because it's soft opening so many people want to try it and the place is small. Been here a few time for their breakfast menu (Combo D Congee with sliced pork/preserved egg and iced lemon tea is our favorite), this is our first time trying out their lunch items. Ordered the beef brisket/tendon funn noodle soup and the beef omelette over rice with satay sauce. Compared to Lam's Kitchen, the broth and beef brisket are better but the funn are not as good in terms of texture in our opinion. The beef omelette is very satisfying and the portion is just right. The satay sauce could use a bit more flavor but that's just my personal preference. Very happy with our meal overall and are looking forward to try more lunch items. Service was really fast and friendly. We came at 8:30am on a weekday and was able to sit down right away. Their fried noodles was just okay but their hot hong kong style milktea was amazing. I would come back here just for that. I also loved how their breakfast menu had different combos - that made it easier to try multiple dishes. The ovaltine french toast was really good! Recently tried HK Cafe in Chinatown. It was ok. We tried the char siu with egg and rice, fried chicken wings, look funn noodle with char siu, beef brisket and tendon noodle and iced and hot coffee. I really liked the look funn although it was slightly mushy to the others in my party. It wasn't traditional look funn more like angel hair clumped together but I liked it. The chicken wings were good. Almost tasted like taco seasoning but it was good. The other food items were just ok. The brisket and tendon was decent but Lam's is much better oh and we had the chow funn and that was really good and tasty. The iced coffee with condensed milk was perfect and the hot coffee came with evaporated milk but was good too. I probably won't go back. With the exception of couple of items on the menu and location, we believe they are the same in terms of food quality, service, The menu here is not extensive, but the food are very presentable and reasonably priced. There were only two servers on duty, and considering the size of the cafe, service was good and food preparation time was relatively quick. The interior (dining area) of the restaurant is simple and clean. Really enjoyed the beef chow fun at the Waikiki location so wanted to come to the Chinatown location to try since it is $4 cheaper for the beef chow fun. it was excellent with lots of wok flavour for $13.99...portion is average but definitely not huge. good for one person. also had the hot hong kong tea for $4.50 and it was excellent...very authentic hong style steeped tea. I also had the hot pot rice with pork and anchovy for $15.95 and it was just okay...not spectacular. we also had the Singaporean fried vermicelli which was also excellent. we really enjoyed our meal and the server was very friendly and helpful. we will be returning before end of the month before we leave for home. read more

I believe they have two locations. One in The middle of Chinatown and the second one in Waikiki. We tried the one located in Chinatown. As always, very difficult to find street parking, but there is a paid parking lot next to the cafe. It was our first time. We ordered the shrimp/egg fun. We waited about 40 mins outside which is kind of insane for the area. The service is friendly and the environment is bright and clean. The Ovaltine toast is a must get!
