So...I bought a car from these guys...online. Never saw it, never drove it, never met them. I live in Marin County, but they had the car I wanted at a good price. Importantly, Shanni took me seriously even though 99.9% of my interactions were either emails or texts, because I hate the phone. Anyway, Shanni sent me extra pics of things I requested. Even had someone video the car at idle and high rev and e it to me. And had the dealer check it out...AND I made a slightly lower offer...all the tricks of someone goofing around on the internet with no intention to buy...but Shanni was nice, prompt, sincere and had great follow-through. Shanni even arranged the shipping for me ( at a great price) and handled my bank, and the licensing. I was on a bit of a time crunch, needing the car on a Wednesday before leaving for vacation out of the country on Thursday. The car arrived Wednesday at 7am, FIVE hours early! I had to revise my review from a 5 star perfect experience to 2 star. Here is the reason why... The car I purchased was a 2012 Mercedes CLS 550. The car gets 5 stars. Excellent condition inside and out. It had 2 very minor scratches at the time of sale. Moving on to the experience....Dave was the man handling my transaction. Prior to the sale of the vehicle he was prompt, courteous, professional, everything you would expect from a car sales guy. Returned my calls within minutes, no BS type of guy. He got me approved over the phone very quickly (My 839 credit score probably helped). I decided to make the 3 1/2 hour drive from Vegas to Rosemead, CA to purchase the car. During the sale everything went very smoothly as expected. I tried to haggle Dave for a grand because the tires looked worn. ( Price of 4 new tires on 19 in. rims would run well over a grand). He didn't budge and I proceeded with the purchase. After test driving this fine automobile, I spent 15 min with the paperwork and I was back on my way to Vegas. After the sale.....terrible. There were a couple of minor follow up issues that I had to initiate. One was the spare key had to be mailed to me separately. It was sent to me by mail, busted. There is a little lever door on top of the key fob that releases the actual hard key. This lever door was broken (not covered under warranty). Now when this key's battery dies, you have to use that lever to get into the battery area. Dave told me to use a toothpick to open the key. Yes it probably would work but I honestly don't want to be sticking toothpicks in my 50 grand dream car's key fob to open it up. Maybe on a Honda Civic. I asked for a key replacement or monetary reimbursement. Dave didn't budge. I mean....if a key fob is $400 and I spent 50 grand on the vehicle, that's less than 1%..... come on dude, keep a brother happy??......His words, "we usually don't even include a spare key on used cars (like I should feel lucky I got a spare). And "the previous owner won't replace the key". Another issue Dave was supposed to get back to me on was on the balance of the extended warranty. Again I had to call him and the answer I got (twice) was the "previous owner" was out of town and he had to ask him. (2 months now) I don't really understand how it works but because the car was Certified Pre Owned, I was not able to get the extra warranty that was on the car, which was an extra year. Only the factory warranty. Regardless, I never got a return call. Summary: The cars here are most likely going to be nice. Dave will do anything to get your booty to sign that dotted line, as he should. After the sale you can say Sayonara to any follow up, lingering issues. You are pretty much history. My advise is to make sure you get any unresolved issues in writing prior to the sale. If you are not completely satisfied DO NOT get the car until all of YOUR expectations are met. I honored everything on my end, as a 839 credit score man would. read more

Did some research on the car and did some shopping. Was debating between a 2014 GSR with an SSS package or a 2015 Final Evolution version. Thanks to the unscrupulous actions of a Mitsubishi dealership (They will be my first one star review, stay tuned!) I've decided to stay away from "satan" (what DSMers called the dealerships) and stick again with an independent dealer after going through a smooth transaction purchasing my wife's car through one. Shopped around, even went all the way to San Diego all for naught. I waited patiently and finally found the color I wanted with all the options I was looking for and with just the right amount of mileage and cost. The car was at HJ Auto Group in Rosemead so I decided to check it out. Upon arrival, I was greeted pleasantly by David. A little small talk and then David showed me the car. The car was in the condition I wanted (except for the bird poop on the spoiler, which David took care off, sorry David :P) so we proceeded for a quick test drive. The vehicle performed to my expectations, so we talked numbers. After less than 10 minutes of negotiations, we finally arrived at a number that we both agreed on. (something that previous independent dealers weren't willing to do) Shook hands, took care of some bank paperwork. Within one week, I was the happy owner of a 2014 Phantom Black Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X with the sight, sound, and spoiler package. No fuss at all. I worked with David Leon, who was extremely friendly and assured me they only buy vehicles in great operating condition. Sure enough, I had an independent mechanic check out the Bimmer I was interested in, and he was surprised how good of shape the car was in for being a 2008 model. The only thing he noticed was that the battery was weak, which David had replaced a few hours before I picked the car up (no upcharge). A week later and I'm in love with the car and have no regrets. HJ definitely seems to have higher standards than the other small used car dealerships I checked out before visiting them. Never sell your car here!!!! I live in San Diego. Last week I contact one of their sales Xiaohan Li to sell a 2012 Mini Cooper. I have the Carmax appraisal of $9000. I took a picture of the Carmax appraisal and some pictures of the car and send them to Xiaohan Li. I asked him if they can buy this car at a higher price. He said yes and finally we agreed on $9500. He asked me to drive the car to LA and they want to check the exterior of the car. He promised he would not change this price and I could go there whenever I was free. Today, I drove my car from San Diego to LA, they suddenly changed their attitude. They said there was a problem with the brake, which is impossible because even Carmax didn't say anything about the brake. There was not a single problem pointed by Carmax. They said they can only buy the car at $9000. They said it's end of the year and it's hard for them to sell the car. Are you kidding me? If you don't want to buy the car, why you ask me to drive the car there?! I wasted my time and gas. They cheated their customers and broke their faith. I am super disappointed and I would like to warn everyone NEVER go to this dealer! They cheated me today and they will cheat more customers in the future. She took me seriously and catered to what I wanted in a car despite my age. I got to HJ Auto Group with a scheduled test drive for a 2015 IS 250, but it was sold right when I got there which was a bummer. So then Shanni went out of her way to find me two other IS with the F Sport package. I didn't have time in the week to test drive them all, but she placed at least one of the vehicles on hold for me. She kept me updated and sent me additional pictures as I requested. The following weekend, I went in and drove both cars and walked out with a 2016 IS 200t that exceeded my expectations. Although the price of the car was fair to begin with, she still tried her best to get me the best possible price.
