I actually was really surprised by this place! Came here right before closing and grabbed some food before I went home. I loved the ratio of green beans to chicken in my dish and my friend really loved her orange chicken and said it was better than Panda Express. I haven't tried the boba but I'd really like to next time. They were also really efficient and nice. read more

My favorite in their menu is the crispy noodles and milk tea. They also prepare the food pretty quick.

Best value !!! The food here is good and price is amazingly affordable . Go to food !

Great place to grab traditional milk tea. I usually get the regular flavor with Boba and it comes out great every time. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help you customize your order and explain to you the different selections. I personally prefer my milk tea less sweet so I always ask to reduce the sweetness. I enjoy this place over other milk tea places because the flavor is always consistent and the pricing is reasonable. This is located in the Alamoana shopping center near Macy's. In the newer food court, it's very convenient to get to and easy enough to order- where the wait time is minimal. Great to have on a hot day while shopping and a must if you're craving boba tea in the ala Moana area. Parking; tons- just goto different floors for the mall, very convenient to walk to. read more

There are not a whole lot of Chinese food to eat in Ala Moana. I love the food selections at Hitea, located inside the Lanai food court. The quality of the food, considering in a food court, is not bad. The taste are not too salty or oily. Everything is made to order so it's hot and The portions are pretty good. They have a wide selections of drinks too. They have very good sweet and sour soup but unfortunately, they don't have it on the menu anymore. Please put the soup back on the menu. read more

I personally didn't try the smoothies. I bought the açaí smoothie for my five year old son, which he finished, and my husband had the blueberry banana smoothie, he said it tastes like he was eating real fruits not those powder drinks. read more

Food here is sub par and a little over priced even for Ala Moana. The Teas were decent no real complaints there

Usually the food is very tasty, but yesterday it was not too good. I ordered the garlic butter shrimp plate and the Singapore rice. Perhaps the chef was having a bad day because the shrimp was overdone and dry, and the noodles was salty. I won't be back. read more

A great place for fresh made-to-order Chinese food. It's located in the Lanai food court in the Ala Moana Center closest to Macy's. During lunch hours you can expect a line, and you'll probably wait about 15 min for you food but it's made right after you order so it's not sitting around in chafing dishes all day long. They have an extensive smoothie and tea menu as well but I've just always ordered their food. My go-to dish is Singapore noodles (enough for 2 meals!) which is skinny rice noodles stir fried with char siu, shrimp, bean sprouts and green onions. Curry powder is used for seasoning so if you're not a fan of curry powder then it's not for you. I recently tried their Beef Chow Funn, also very tasty and great portion size. Contains tasty beef, lots of bean sprouts and green onions. Will look to try their other dishes soon!! read more

First time trying out HiTEA Cafe. Lots of flavors to choose from! They have smoothies, milk teas, and fresh teas in 60 flavors! You can choose toppings like boba and other jelly flavors. I was torn between a smoothie or milk tea but the worker said she prefers the smoothie. I went with the Taro Coconut Boba smoothie. It's delicious!! Would try other flavors from here again! I have my eye on the Mocha Coffee one next. read more

I've been coming here weekly during the entire quarantine period. Their drinks are refreshing, sweet and very tasty and I look forward to relaxing here with a cold blended coffee drink. I just came here yesterday and I'm back today. Strangely, they refuse to make me a coffee drink with crushed ice. It's easy enough - just leave out the sugar, leave out the milk powder, blend until ice is crushed. The first few times they refused to leave out the sugar completely because they said it wouldn't taste good. Then they refused to leave out the milk powder. Why? Finally last week a woman working there told me she'd make it and so I had it exactly the way I wanted it. This morning, I'm sad to say I've had it with this place. The young man behind the counter refused to make it for me. He said the blenders don't work without sugar. What kind of stupid excuse is that? Of course blenders work without sugar. He could stick his hand in there and the blender would shred his hand just fine. They've lost a customer. They obviously don't care, which is a shame. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

So there's a valid reason you don't see anyone ordering food here. To be honest, it isn't that great. I can't pin down what's wrong here, it's like whatever they're using for flavor is killing the flavor? I don't even know what that means but you'll just have to trust me. I've been here (3) times and the food on all occasions left me a bit disappointed. The prices for a plate doesn't help either. Beverages on the other hand: is an entire different story. Come here for a drink and skip the food. read more

I decided to try Singapore noodles because of another review that I read. I got the Singapore noodles (including curry powder) with no Shrimp and this is hands down an amazing dish. I had it two days in a row. The curry made the dish very flavorful. Don't forget the spicy sauce, I believe it's a chili paste. They only gave me ONE, but no worries, I'll ask for more. I didn't try the smoothies but my son wasn't a fan. I still gave it 5tars for the Singapore noodles. Yum! read more

Yuck... Don't buy the smoothies. The smoothies on the menu are overpriced and you have to pay 75 cents to add boba. The smoothies taste so artificial and I can't enjoy it at all. Overall the smoothies are actually a half star. read more

HiTea Cafe opened up a while ago in the Lanai Food Court in Ala Moana. At first they only specialized in milk tea, Boba, juices, and smoothies. Now they have expanded their menu to several Chinese foods. Their milk tea and boba are good but I was surprised when their Chinese food actually tasted good. I have ordered their minute chicken, tofu, and their fried rice dishes before. So far Hitea's minute chicken was outstanding. This time I decided to order a newer item the salt and pepper pork chops. It took a while for me to get my order but that is bc they cook it to order. The pork chops were good but I would like alittle more peppery and salty flavor. It was not as good as the minute chicken and worth a try. If you are hungry for a little Chinese food and milk tea in one place, HI tea Cafe is a convenient and good option. All I have to say is yummy minute chicken. read more

This is my first time going to HiTEA Cafe. They're known for their boba smoothies, but I got their plate lunch instead. Attached is the photo of the food that I received. It's humongous! The chicken was just a tad bit salty. The sauce was a little bit more bland but on the sweeter side. The noodles is crispy crunchy to perfection, but mixed with some soft noodles that made it to the sauce. I definitely enjoyed this and think it can feed two adults. read more

I am OBSESSED with bubble milk teas - I know I get one whenever I see one. Today I happen to be around HiTea Cafe at Ala Moana Shopping Center and of course I decided to get the usual: just boba milk tea with 25% sweetness. I have had plenty from various places all over this island but this one was one of the best I've ever had! The milk tea is great, but the best part was the bobas. They're soft but not too soft and got chewy centers which make them so hard to stop munching on! I'm still munching on them as I write this. Not sure about the other drinks they offer but hands-down one of few best boba milk tea in my list! read more

Let's go RIP OFF PEOPLE! I was so down to have a smoothie, hungry but wanted something light on my stomach, I ordered an avocado banana smoothie sound so good right! EDIT: They added combo deals to their menu!! $2.98 milk tea with the purchase of any food entree item! Located inside the new Lanai Food Court in Ala Moana Center. (Pretty much the old Shirokiya on the second floor by Macy's). I went to HiTea twice already. I never had the chance to try their bubble teas, but only tried their food items. Both their Chicken Fried Rice and Minute Chicken Rice Plate were pretty on point. Each of these items were under $11, which is pretty good considering the restaurants inside Ala Moana are pretty pricey to begin with. The only thing I wish is that HiTea offered a combo deal for their food items and their teas. For example, if you buy a menu item + drink and get $1 off? Since they don't have any fountain drinks or bottled water, it comes out to be a little too expensive to get both a drink and entree when I'm eating by myself... Just a suggestion though! Either way, I'd probably go back for their food! read more

Wasn't expecting to try here but walked past and saw they had a food menu as well! The two guys that work in the front work very hard and are really nice. Asked how long the wait for food is usually and he told me it would be out in 5-6 minutes! Bought the beef chow fun for about $12 and I was in shock how heavy that plate was when I carried it out! Went back to the office and hardly put a dent in it! I guess I know what will be for home lunch tomorrow haha. Will be back to try the teas and other food items. Seems like this place is a hidden gem in the new Lanai. read more

Love the salt & pepper pork chop here. It's salty with a little spice. Way better than some other Chinese places around here. It's probably unhealthy as hell but it's delicious. The teas are tasty but a bit expensive so best if you grab a combo meal. The beef chow fun and minute chicken are also good. Can recommend it! read more

I love that they serve two of my favorite things: bubble tea and noodles! They have a large selection of bubble tea, smoothies and juices. I've tried the bubble tea and it's good, but the Minute Chicken Crispy Noodles are what keeps me coming back! The sauce is delicious and the portion is perfect for sharing with another person. They also offer a discount on one bubble tea with an order of an entree. read more

This place is quickly becoming my go-to place for flavored iced teas, or boba drinks! They are located in the new Lanai food court at Ala Moana.....Macy's side, where the old Shirokiya used to be. Their booth is super open and clean. The workers are great--all the times that we have gone, they have been super nice, and very genuine. Last time, the nice lady made my son a cup of iced water and sent it thru the sealing machine, so that it wouldn't spill. We tried a few of their food items, the shrimp fried rice (ok), minute chicken (super good, I ask for it "very well done" though because I'm paranoid about chicken), and their eggplant tofu (pretty good! Maybe I'll ask for this mild for me though). Plates are around $9-11, not bad. Their drinks are very reasonably priced, too! read more

Ordered six bubble tea drinks. They use real fruit instead of powder and give you ton of boba! Boba was cooked just right. If you like your drinks less sweet, make sure to ask. read more

Never fails that on every visit to The Lanai, I choose to eat at HiTea. And every visit I have always been FULLy satisfied and content. 2nd Update - Went back for 3rd time in 2 weeks. We got salt & pepper prawns and Gung-pau Chicken. Salt & Pepper prawns are definitelt much less salty comparing to earlier purchases. A major improvement. Not sure if it is different chef or what. Somehow, the prawns are not as dry and crispy which I prefer. Gung-pau chicken has all the right ingredients, except it tasted like sweet and sour chicken instead of typical heavier savory with major spicy kick to it. It should rename to Sweet and sour chicken in my honest opinion. I need to try other dishes next time. I still love my tart lilikoi Jasmine no-sugar drink. If the cashier told you no when asking for no sugar. This is definitely the one can adjust the sugar level. In fact many of drinks can adjust the sugar level if it is Jasmin tea base. Update - Went back and ordered Salt & Pepper Pork Chop and Beef chowfun along with discounted drink (discounted when purchase with an entree). Salt & Pepper Pork Chop - Still tasty like Salt & Pepper Prawns. Both dishes are on the salty side. I might ask for light salted one next time. Pork chop has a lot of batter-like filler. The picture seems to be a lot, but half of them are filler. Not much meat in the order. I would prefer Jade Dynasty's salt & pepper pork chop. More bank for the buck. I would definitely order salt & pepper prawns next time. Beef Chowfun - It is fairly comparable to other restaurants locally on quality and quantity. Definitely better on saltiness. Okay quantity on beef. Lilikoi Jasmin Tea - You can always ask if you can adjust the sugar level from none to extra. Some drinks are pre-mixed (for example, winter melon tea is pre-mixed and can be super sweet). Mine was none. It was sour and tart to my liking. Good balance with my salt & pepper pork chop. Original - I ordered salt & pepper prawns over rice. I was too hungry and forgot to take picture. For the price, you get solid 12 WHOLE thin layer of dry flour batter deep fried prawns (best way for deep fried prawn)!!! And 2 scoops of rice (brown or white). Their salt & pepper flavor is so authentic. I love love love it. Except on salty side. I know what I want to try next. Salt and Pepper pork chop and Minute Chicken next time. Don't know if they allow soft noodles instead of crispy noodle.. read more

This place is amazing. The food is literally the best thing in the world. Every time I'm at Ala Moana with my family, we always share two plates: the home style fried rice (C18) and Singapore noodles (C20-I think it's called Singapore noodles lol. It's the one with the curry powder in it!) Regardless, the food is so delicious. The fried rice is cooked perfectly. It's not this mushy mess and the rice isn't too dry--if that makes sense. And the noodles are seasoned so good with the curry powder and they're also not over cooked into mush. Another good thing would be that they're not shy about piling the plate! They really give you your money's worth. Seriously. Two of the plates cost about $22 and some change and it feeds me, my husband, my mom, and my aunt. Now onto why I have this place four stars rather than five...the bubble tea was...okay. I ordered a taro smoothie and found that the boba wasn't sweet. It actually kinda tasted like it was sitting it water for a couple days. It was a weird flavor. The actual taro flavor wasn't that amazing as well. It was a very fake sweet flavor (I KNOW it's not the real fruit, but it was so, so sweet). It didn't really RESEMBLE taro, which was the issue for me. The sizes offered also turns me off. Idk, it would be nice to have a small option! I'm currently pregnant and I literally can't finish a medium size on my own lol. Overall, this place is amazing. When I return, I'll take pictures of the food and update my review! read more

This place is awesome. The Milk Tea was made from real tea leaves and milk...can't stand the powder stuff. The boba was soft and perfectly sweetened. If you have a chance, try the tofu with eggplant. I noticed that the tofu was made by the chef and not from market. Great taste. read more

I waited 20 min for an avocado smoothie, 10 min before hand I asked how long it was gonna take and the clerk said "give it ten minutes because they have to cook it." This is THE WORST PLACE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE FOOD I ORDERED WAS AWFUL! Bought the minute chicken with crisp noodles. This was last night at 6:15. Took it back to my hotel which is about a 20-30 minute walk. The food was so salty I couldn't take more than a few bites. Couldn't return the food the same night because they close at 7pm. Not enough time for me to get back to return. Tried to return the food today. Tha would not honor a return of money or replacement of food. Was told I had to come back the same day to return the food. Tried to explain I couldn't because they had already closed. I will NEVER eat here again! Terrible! read more
