We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!

I went by their recommendations and got the boudin Benedict, since that's not something I would find outside of NOLA. Got a huge sausage egg and cheese sandwich with the fluffiest eggs that was also super yummy. My 18 month old ate half of it. Would definitely return.

It's also in a great location, just steps from the French Market, making it the perfect place to take a breakfast break before exploring the city. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich, and if you're ordering it, do yourself a favor and add avocado. It takes the whole sandwich to the next level. My daughter ordered the King Cake French Toast, and it ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the trip. I'm usually not someone who goes for really sweet breakfasts, but this one was absolutely worth it. The cinnamon flavor came through in every bite, and the cream cheese brought everything together perfectly. My husband ordered the spinach and mushroom crêpe with a side of grits, and it was a 10 out of 10. The coffee was excellent too, which is always a bonus when you're starting your day. The service was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Between the great food, wonderful staff, and perfect location, we had such a nice brunch. We'd happily come back the next time we're in New Orleans.

There is currently construction surrounding the area,…read morewith large chain-link fences making it a bit tricky to find the entrance, but it was well worth the effort. When we walked in, most of the tables were already full. We were greeted by the hostess, and we asked if we could just sit and dine at the bar top. She escorted us to our seats, and we noticed signage indicating that bar seating was managed by the hostess anyway. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and quick to answer all of our questions. As we waited, we couldn't help but notice the enormous plates being delivered to nearby tables, such as the Coconut French Toast and Fried Oyster Toast were absolutely massive! We decided on the Catfish & Shrimp, Chicken & Waffles, and the Aebelskivers (puffer pancakes) with caramel sauce. Everything arrived quickly, hot, and fresh. The cayenne butter paired perfectly with the Chicken & Waffles, and the caramel sauce was the perfect choice for the Aebelskivers! Absolutely delicious! A special thank-you to our hostess, Terry, who was so personable, and shared some fantastic recommendations for other restaurants and places to visit while we were in town. Great food, excellent service, and warm hospitality made this a memorable stop!

Joel is professional and kind; He's full of personality and definitely knows his stuff!! I highly recommend having a reservation. We were seated immediately due to having a reservation. The vibe of the location is the best. The colors and setting will brighten up your day. We'll thought out set up. Our server Aurry was amazing. She provided great service and awesome recommendations from drinks, apps and eats! Her personality was very pleasant and sweet. She was attentive but not overwhelming at all. Both Aurry and Joel contributed to the overall experience making it great. The FOOD was a HIT. Everything ordered was presented beautifully and delicious!!! The executive chef is definitely cooking very very well!!! We loved the Blue Crab Ragoon App as well as the Crab Cakes. There was nothing left on the plates. For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!
