Love the donuts at Joe's. I went here at least twice during my trip to NOLA last month. They were fresh and very reasonably priced. The sweet tea wasn't very sweet, which is off for the South, but overall, I had a great experience and I'll be going back next time I'm in New Orleans. read more

This is for the buttermilk drops. The best buttermilk drops ever. Slightly beats out Dorignac's, if only because they don't run out as fast. When I'm back in town, this is where I get my stash. Then head to Moe's for the muffaletta. Then off to the park to see the gators if you're on vacay. All are completely worth it. read more

I regularly patronize this restaurant because of the decent food and service, but I recently placed an order via Uber App to get a buy one get one free for pickup. I was on my way to pick my order up but then I got an alert stating I already picked the order up. I was too busy to address the issue at the time so I placed a separate order for delivery that night. I spoke to Kayla and Ava about either getting a refund or picking my order up but I was told it was an Uber issue while Uber is saying to contact the store. Not happy with the result hoping I can get my order or refund or I will stop patronizing the store going forward and go thru my bank to get a refund. read more

Joe's glazed beignets were my favorite beignets in all of new orleans. We got them warm and they were so moist inside. What a unique way to make beignets. I normally find beignets to be too "bready" and dry, but not these glazed ones. These were flakey, buttery, and so delicious. read more

Breakfast all day, but why bother? This local chain's loyal following baffles me. It's like the grumpy McKenzie's counterladies, but the food isn't good enought to be worth the bad treatment. My second visit to a Joe's, since it was between my son's school and my doctor appointment. Cold hash browns and, somehow, cold sunnyside up eggs. Service good if you're a regular, based on what I saw, but I'm not, so while other tables got "You okay, babe?" I got my plate shoved in from behind with no comment and then was ignored. read more

This replaced the Tasty's donuts joint that I grew up with most of my life. Joes is okay, but doesn't compare to them honestly. I do like some of the stuff here. The glazed beignets are probably my favorite thing here. I find that they always have a line and hardly have anything prepared when I come here so I have to park my car and wait, which I HATE. I am not a fan of the traditional donuts here, as I grew up with Tastys and like them a bit more. The icing on the donuts here is a bit on the heavy end. Not a horrible place and will probably come back for more glazed Beignets. read more

Health warning. Do not eat here. Just left the drive thru. The young lady, who was working the drive room. Wiped her nose with her hand. Then proceeded to ask me how could she help me. I told her you could help my by washing your hands, after you wipe your nose. She gave a smug smile and grabbed a bottle of hand sanitizer. I looked at her with Ewwwwww written on my face and said really. I left. If they are so slack in the hand washing procedures. What other health codes are being violated that you can't see? I came home and called, asked to speak to a manager, she didn't seem disgusted at the prospect of the employees actions. So Yelp and health dept do your stuff. The one star is only because I had to leave something. I left pretty disgusted. Everything she has touched in that establishment has been cross contaminated with her bodily fluids. A 70 MINUTE WAIT FOR DINER FOOD excuse after excuse: "too many drive thru orders", a "huge banquet sized phone-in", you "got in right after". We waited one hour and ten minutes for food. Poor service. Insulted by server! I'm a trans woman who frequented this location before and after my transition. I was a loyal customer. I came in with my partner late after 11pm on the 23rd of July for a donut and coffee as we often do. When the night waitress came back with our donuts, she said "sorry." Then muttered very very inaudibly "damn boy you know you ugly". She probably thinks I didn't hear, but I did. I cried at the table with my loved one, and could not eat my food. We ended up taking it to go, chugging our coffee and having to eat elsewhere due to the hostility. I felt attacked, denigrated, betrayed, and invalidated by what she had the gall to mutter a foot away from me. All I wanted was a donut and coffee and instead, your unprofessional rude employee made me feel unsafe, uncomfortable, and it was simply VERY uncalled for. I can no longer feel safe eating there and me and my family won't be back. read more

We stopped to eat breakfast here on our way to a swamp tour. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the service was good and the food was good. The apple fritter I had was fresh and so yummy! One of the best apple fritters I've ever had. My son and I split the chicken and waffles and my husband had an omelette. Don't let the outside deceive you, give it a try! read more

Service was extremely slow! There were maybe 4 other people in there. It took maybe 30 mins to get our food. I would really hate to see them when they have a large group of people or more then 6 tables of guest. I ordered the chicken and waffles. It was alright. Not the best. I've been there or gotten delivery a handful of times through Waitr. It's a typical diner, so don't expect a five-star experience. The food I've had has been pretty good, and the donuts are great (try the buttermilk drops or maple bacon log). I would advise against ordering takeout/delivery, because every time I've done so, the order has been wrong. Every time. Example: a patty melt with no cheese and/or no onions (it's supposed to automatically come with both...what's melting when there's no cheese?), ask for pickles only and you get lettuce and tomatoes (say what?), you receive a waffle with no syrup (hmmm), etc. Through Waitr, I've started paying extra to add items that are supposed to included in the basic item price (and are explicitly included in the item description), because I know they'll leave them off if I don't. I don't intend to get delivery again for that reason. It just doesn't make sense. So, go there and enjoy! That way, if something is missing from your order, you can get it remedied without paying an arm and a leg. (P.S. Yes, I know these are all first-world problems, but I'm letting you know, so you can be cautious when appropriate. Go forth and be kind.) read more

This is my husband and I favorite location. The hospitality of the workers at this location is everything. Now this location is like any other restaurant, they have off days, yet, the next time you visit everything will be right with the world again. We are never disappointed and when something is wrong with our food, the servers correct immediately. My hats off to this location for staying consistent in their hospitality and food. I normally come here after I have had a few drinks and get the healthy omelet. Today I stopped by sober and my omelet wasn't as good as it usually is the onions and bell pepper were burnt and the omelet was pretty small. The lady at the counter was so friendly. Meet the Business Owner: James A.

Welcome to Our Family's Table. James knew at the age of 14 that he had a knack for working restaurants, specifically in the art of donut making. After giving up his first job as a paperboy, James applied for a position with Ms. Helen and Ms. Marilyn, two former nuns who owned a local New Orleans Westbank area donut franchise. James aspired to be a donut cutter, he took the position of donut fryer. With absolutely no "official" training, he paid close attention to the donut cutter and quickly mastered the craft. Those hand-cut tasty morsels (glazed donuts) are today's number "1" best seller for all our present Joe's locations. In 1988 he and his wife Stacey bought their first donut location. James and Stacey, along with their four sons, continued to grow the company to multiple locations founded on the values of hard work, persistence, quality ingredients, great service and value for the customer.

It was absolutely delicious. I was very surprised at how good it was! Ordering more for the future. When you order ahead of time, you just go to the side and do a quick pick up which is great. Much like the other Districts, they have a great variety of donuts, some delicious coffee, and I finally tried their sausage biscuit breakfast. Service came up quickly (although there wasn't really a line when I was there), so even if there's just one worker, they're fairly efficient. The biscuit was expensive, but it was also HUGE. It ended up being a brunch for me because it was so filling. Then, for dessert much later, I picked up my favorite sopapilla donut. This is always a great place to take friends or pick up some goodies for your loved ones, but this is probably the smallest of the locations, so I would pick another one if you'd like to dine in or relax with your meal before heading home.

Sometimes you'll go to a place and the lid makes it really hard to get an even stir/shake but with their lid it's so easy as you just plug the top with a finger and shake. Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs.
