a dozen donuts in a box
Lynn W.

Some of the best donuts are served here. I love love love the glazed chocolates here. They also cook food here. I got 2 dozens of mixed donuts. The cherry filled and sprinkled donuts are also delicious. If you are on the Westbank give them a try.

Slightly beats out Dorignac's, if only because they don't run out as fast.

King Cake: Given a regular one by our neighbor as a thank you: 5 stars…read more Donut holes to go: Love the early morning staff; great variety of holes, reasonably priced; usually in and out in under 5 min.: 5 stars. Now let's talk about breakfast: Weekday around lunch. About 1/4 of seats taken. As best I could tell, 2 or 3 servers. Coffee, OJ and soda brought promptly after ordering. FYI - drinks reasonably priced. I opted for Spinach & Swiss omelette, hash browns well done and biscuit. He opted for Meatlover's omelette, hash browns and toast. 25 minutes later breakfast was served. Husband's order was fine: tasty omelette, and the toast was well buttered. Mine? The Swiss was sticking out of the omelette and it was a slice not melted. The cheese inside the omelette was melted, and overall it had good flavor. The hash browns had good flavor, but they were not well done. The biscuit was not buttered - there was butter on the table - and it was nice and dense to support slathering it in jelly. The waitress checked on us a couple of times. I made no comment whether it was good or bad, because I was going to eat it anyway. As a general rule I don't send things back, and in this instance given the time it took to get it, I was starved and certainly wasn't sending it back. Leftovers box and checkout was super quick. This experience: 2 stars; averaging to 4 stars for restaurant overall. Will continue to use for pastries, but won't be back for another sit down experience.

Went home to visit momma and them. In two weeks we ate this place at least four times. I know! If you have a sweet tooth, definitely go check out their stuffed doughnut holes, beignets, and so many goodies. If you desire anything hardier, they've got it all. The eggs and grilled pork chops were delicious. Good coffee too!

This is a very tiny location, so don't go and think you're camping out in the restaurant or hanging…read moreout for very long. This place is a great pick up and go locale. Much like the other Districts, they have a great variety of donuts, some delicious coffee, and I finally tried their sausage biscuit breakfast. Service came up quickly (although there wasn't really a line when I was there), so even if there's just one worker, they're fairly efficient. The biscuit was expensive, but it was also HUGE. It ended up being a brunch for me because it was so filling. Then, for dessert much later, I picked up my favorite sopapilla donut. This is always a great place to take friends or pick up some goodies for your loved ones, but this is probably the smallest of the locations, so I would pick another one if you'd like to dine in or relax with your meal before heading home.

I got the mango sticky rice donut. It was hard to pick just one, all the flavors seemed so unique. I thought the texture was good & the filling was really delicious. It was a great donut! The iced coffee was good too. I will say - there is not a lot of seating here. The location is quite small. But fun to stop in and grab a donut to-go

The drink was $7.14 which isn't too bad, but the taste is great. It's very refreshing and not heavy at all. I came on a Sunday morning and the inside was a little busy, so I decided to sit outside. They have maybe 4 tables outside with music playing so it was quite nice. One more thing -- i really like the cup lid. Sometimes you'll go to a place and the lid makes it really hard to get an even stir/shake but with their lid it's so easy as you just plug the top with a finger and shake. Small detail but it's something I appreciated. The matcha coconut water is a must try!

Dough Nguyener's Bakery -- 4…read more Dough Nguyener's really introduced me and my son to the flavors of ube and pandan... and I still can't believe I went my whole life without them. Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs. Not too small, not too big. Beautiful lighting. A really good addition to Gretna.
