I had Hiram Clarke BBQ carry out before, but this was the first time I had eaten at their new-ish location in Pearland. The location is nice, nothing fancy, but plenty of room to grab a table and eat your food there. I've added a few photos of the interior, since there weren't any yet on Yelp. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of my food, but there are already plenty of food pictures here, so I'll just talk about the food instead. I was in a group of three, and I had the two meat plate. I chose the sausage and ribs, with mac & cheese and potato salad as my sides. The potato salad was OK, but I really should've had double mac & cheese, since there was so much meat that I had plenty to bring home and make it a second meal. The ribs are amazing. So much meat. They gave me three full bones, plus a couple rib tips. For me, one bone and the rib tips, along with some sausage, was plenty. I brought the rest with me and am enjoying it as I write the review. The sausage is large, and has a little bit of a kick, but not at all too hot. I'd say it's between a mild and medium, but closer to mild. And the mac & cheese, homemade with large egg noodles and just the right amount of cheese, is delicious. They have a case full of cans and bottles of soda and water. For a treat, I opted for an orange soda, and it was very fun. One of the others in my group had the ribs and chicken plate, and the other one just had the rib plate. Everyone loved everything, including their sides. We haven't had a bad thing from here, ever. Service was both friendly and prompt. They have kiosks where you place your order, but because the cook wasn't busy when we first got there, he walked over and stepped us through that himself - a nice touch! It's co-located with a Chevron gas station, but there's plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant. The only drawback is that it's kind of off the beaten path, on the frontage road, so I'm hoping people will find it through these reviews and keep it flourishing. It would be easy to miss otherwise. It's definitely a gem, and I'm already looking forward to the next time we drop by! read more

I ordered the baked potato with 2 meats /chicken and brisket loaded and I must tell you it was a large amount of meat inside the potato-with sour cream and butter,bacon bits . First of all you need more than one employee customer service should be priority.Then you go to the food if you pay those prices you should atleast get fresh food. However the sausage is good but much better if they were fresh. And to say you have loaded potatoes on special on Wednesday atleast have some fresh beef. You cannot cook food days in advance refrigerate a few days later and serve to customers gotta be really careful on those tactics old food makes people sick sometimes. However I don't mind supporting but for the price charged you should get fresh food not gathered from the refrigerator placed in the microwave and served if you know food as I do you can taste that it's been refrigerated and reheated. Not sure if I will support again upon walking in there is no barbecue aroma to say its that type restaurant. read more

Gotta love a place that gives you a free sample of sausage for first time visitors. I went with a 3 meat plate of chicken quarter, brisket, and beef sausage. Sides of mac and greens. Some of the best bbq I've eaten (and I've eaten a lot of it). Brisket melt led in my mouth, sausage had great texture and flavor. Chicken... well it's chicken... hahaha! Cheesy and creamy Mac. Jacos Bbq is truly some great barbecue!!! Lests just start with the meat! It is quality seasoned tender meat. It has a perfect savory crust with a nice rosy interior. Sides are great! If you like or use to SWEET KOOL-Aid you definitely need to try it. They did not skimp on the sugar. Honestly they do not skimp on anything! Everything is good proportions and reasonably priced. Next time I plan to get the loaded baked potato! It looks so filling and delicious. The owner is absolutely amazing! He seems like an honest friendly person. The restaurant is currently located in a gas station. I have not been yet. At the time I visited them, their food trailer was located at Houston Grub Park. read more

REAL baked potatoes that are huge fully cooked and come with cheese, plenty of butter and meat piled high. The in-house sausage is juicy with a snap to it. Brisket is full of flavor and you can order it with or without the fatty bits. In my opinion that's where the flavor is, it melts and adds a decadence to the meat. Everything was perfect, but this evening, I ordered fries with two meats, received one meat, and the fries were super small, not homemade like Remos BBQ! 47$ wasn't worth this at all! This is entirely wrong! I ordered 2 meat and charged but only one meat on my. Unacceptable when I paid nearly $50. A waste of money, I ordered sausage and rib, but received only ribs on my fries. We LOVE Jacos BBQ! My husband and I found Jacos after moving to the area last summer and it has become a staple in our household. The first time he went to Jacos, my husband was greeted warmly by the owner and staff and offered samples of several items to try. They are friendly and passionate about their food - what more could you ask for? I recently threw a large party for my husband's 30th and decided to have Jacos cater so that we could share one of our favorite local places with friends. They were easy to work with, friendly, and accommodating. When we went to pick up the order, they helped load everything into the car and helped line the trunk to help prevent a mess from potential leaking, and they even checked in the next day to make sure everything had gone well. The food was excellent - all of our guests raved about the barbecue, and the generous portion sizes meant that everyone was able to go back for seconds and take some of their favorites home. We ordered beef links, chicken, ribs, three meat beans, green beans, mac and cheese, and banana pudding for this event, but have tried most of their offerings over the last few months and everything is phenomenal. We are especially big fans of the beef link, mac and cheese, and banana pudding. Seriously good food. We love Jacos and highly recommend them for both your every day BBQ cravings and catering events. The bbq is great only if you come early... last two times I've picked up bbq 30 mins before closing and the brisket was served with 70% fat when I specifically ordered the LEAN option on the website, and not once I've ever been greeted and thanked for doing business and supporting this local business by the owner... he seems to always be upset and no very happy. If I could give 0 stars I would. Made the drive to that side of town to try some bbq that had high ratings online. I was overly excited, hoping the food was as good as the reviews stated. 50 dollars later and in exchange I took only a few bites of everything I ordered. Brisket was dry, boudin was flavorless, and Mac/ greens were just plain nasty. What hurts the most is the money I spent down the drain only to end up getting a dollar cheese burger from McDonald's. Never again, I don't recommend at all. These reviews have to be from family members because there's no way someone would give this place 4 stars. read more

I kept seeing this place on a FB group, so I took that as a sign to give it try on Saturday. OMG the brisket and ribs were both tender, moist, and flavorful!! You know it's good when bbq sauce messes up the flavor. Who needs sauce when the flavor holds on its own?!?! The dirty rice was savory. I visited Jacos BBQ. It's located within a gas station. While a great aroma hits you when you open the door, the food was less than ideal. I ordered $70 worth of BBQ and here is what I got. Baked potato with brisket. It was NOT HOT! I had to heat it up when I arrived home. It was a big potato but not the rave I had heard. I got the 2 meat plate (sausage & brisket). My sides were the green beans (good) & Cajun stew (great). Both meats, again, were NOT HOT! The sausage was greasy but had a good taste. The brisket...old, cold and brittle! I heated them up and they had an okay flavor. I got an order of ribs and the same goes. Old & cold. I can only imagine that if I visited during peak times, the cuts would have been fresh off the brisket and ribs, it would have been fresh and juicy. Passed by this restaurant that sits inside of a gas station off Hiram Clark and decided to give them a try. Staff was friendly and patient in asking questions regarding menu. I walked out with the 3 meat dinner (chicken, brisket, and sausage. The sides were good, but they only serve dark meat chicken, which was ok, white meat would have been preferred. The brisket was extremely tough and difficult to bite so imagine trying to swallow, needless to say that was trashed. The sausage was good though and tasted homemade. Finally was able to make my way to get some Jacos BBQ and let me tell you what, don't be fooled by the gas station, I was highly impressed of what they are doing with that space. Ordered delivery today and it was excellent! I asked for the moist brisket and it was exactly as I would have chosen. Ribs were perfectly smoked and hung on to the bone just enough to stay a rib and not over cooked. The collard greens were really good with plenty of ham from the hocks. One meat I ordered was out for today but they refunded my order for that even before I knew about it. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

i stopped by this bor for lunch today & it was a great decision. i got the hamburger & fries lunch special. i also got the specialty pineapple cake for my dessert. i was even offered a sample of beef sausage. i definitely may get that beef sausage with my order next time too. everything was delicious. i love the seasoning on the fries. oh but let me tell you, that pineapple cake was exactly what i needed. the frosting was so sweet, thick, & delicious. i know i asked a lot of questions, but the customer service was great and everyone was friendly. it restaurant is inside of a fuel station so you may want to be prepared to take your order to-go but that wasn't a problem at all. you should definitely check them out if you want some delicious food. i forgot to take food pics because i started eating as soon as i made it to my location. sorry. i will remember next time. read more

Visited for the first time today.. I got the 3 meat plate (chicken brisket and ribs) with greens and dirty rice. The chicken and ribs were AMAZING full of flavor. The brisket was dry I'm not sure what happened because the reviews were so good so maybe I got a bad batch. The greens were amazing as well and the rice was good. I definitely would go back. I've eaten BBQ from all parts of the nation, Jacos BBQ is the real deal. The food was very tasty with a hint of mesquite. The brisket was succulent and the ribs simply fell of the bone.
