We had Hill Moving come to our house to give us a quote for our move. The gentleman was very nice and stated he had 25 years experience doing this. They were not the lowest quote we received, but we felt confident after meeting with the above man, and after a few of our neighbors recommended them, that they were worth the money. Unfortunately, we were wrong. They sent 4 crew members out and one truck. They arrived timely, and 2 of the 4 crew were incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful, but that's really the only positives from the day. One crew was new and would aimlessly wander and not work until someone gave him explicit instructions. One was kind of bossy and a little argumentative which we let slide because he was working and doing a lot. By 9:30 pm we had to ask them to leave. We have 3 kids, 2 under 6, and we needed to get them to bed. They were not done and even the crew stated they needed 6 people and two trucks to do this job in one day - no idea why it took them until the evening to admit this vs just calling the office at mid-day to get help. In all fairness, the company tried to make it right and sent, at no additional cost to us, two (very nice, very helpful) men two days later to help put together all the furniture they didn't have time to put back together on moving day (one was the gentleman from the original move day who was very kind and worked super hard). They also helped move furniture and boxes to the correct spaces that had been simply left in the garage moving day since we asked them to call it a night. We appreciated that gesture. They did damage one piece of furniture in the truck by not padding/packing it properly. We are going through the claims department and due to the weekend haven't had a resolution yet. I'm hoping that will be a positive experience. Also, we had tons of wall scuffs and dings after the move which was disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this company to others even though we were really optimistic about them in the beginning. It made for an incredibly long, stressful, and frustrating day. read more

Want to start out by pissing off your new neighbors? Then hire Hill Moving! We live in a new community and unfortunately one of our newest neighbors chose Hill Moving to handle their move. We live in a community with 80 houses being built but only 3 currently have residents living in them, Hill moving decided to block two of these 3 drive ways with their big truck when every house on the other side of the house they're servicing is empty. Then us residents got to deal with the stench of cigarette smoke coming into our houses because the employees chose our houses to smoke outside of, it's an almost 80 degree day and we're having to close our windows. That's the end of my rant I guess since I now have to go out and pick up the cigarette butts that their employees left outside of my home. read more

I have to preface my review by saying I have used hill worldwide moving several times and was pleased in the past. This time it was a little different. They came out and looked at my furniture and the boxes, and I showed them the paintings that I need to have boxed and they gave me an approximate price. I use that word approximately very loosely. They charge your move by the weight of your load and if you pay cash you get a 10% discount. They judged my weight to be 2000 pounds less than it ended up being. So now they have my all my furniture, my art and the boxes that I packed, And the price of my move has gone up well over $4000 from the original price of $7000 plus. I think they need to get new people to estimate what your move is going to cost. Everyone was nice but money is money. They kept my furniture for over a month, because I could not deliver it before then. When it arrived is a totally different shipping company and it is unloaded by a father and his two children, That are young teenagers. I did not find that particularly professional. The good thing is that everything did arrive but the bad thing is quite a few things were broken in the boxes. I have moved several times over my lifetime so I know how to pack well and was surprised to open several boxes with broken dishes. What are the chairs in my living room furniture had big grease marks on the front of it. I took a lot of photos of everything and thought about turning it all in but then decided just to clean by furniture and throw the broken parts away and Call it good. When I had moved with him in the past when the parents were still running the company my bid was right on, my furniture was delivered quickly and nothing was damaged. I felt very much that it was a "bait and switch" price arrangement. In the field they have a strong reputation for doing a good job, but they have a strong reputation for being too expensive. I would've thought that would've been good if they had been anywhere near to the close to the original estimate, but they were almost 45 percent more. That is ridiculous! I really hope I do not have to move again in a long time, and will I use them again? I don't think so. I should add that when I got an estimate for my entire household for the move a year ago with 306 boxes and just as many pieces of art, the bid was $11,000. Now this time I only had living room, dining room and some tables for my art room and 48 boxes and the move came out the same. I would have hated to think what the original bid would've actually ended up costing. So I added a quote of buyer beware, as your estimate will be nowhere near your final payment. And you're stuck, as your furniture is loaded on their van and to have them deliver it is the only way you're going to get it. read more

Bobby, Dustin and Blake were by far the best movers we've ever had in my husbands 16 years of military service. They were very prompt, personable, friendly, professional and kind. I cannot brag on these 3 enough. I only wish they could be the ones moving it and unpacking it at our next location. read more

DON'T USE!!!! I'm helping my mom move her stuff in that they moved and they broke over a dozen items. We keep opening dresser drawers and finding bits and pieces of furniture. We can't sit in a sofa or a chair because they broke the legs off. When we asked where the legs were, they "didn't know." There's broken glass, and items that were suppose to be wrapped for protection were just thrown on top of boxes without any protection We are not even finished unpacking and we just keep finding broken stuff. I'm curious to see what we will find next. Update...i had waited in posting this review in hopes that they would make things right. I was mistaken, after all of the broken antiques they decided on paying $300 for thousands of dollars worth of damage. They will be taken to court! read more

11/15/22 I was the representative for my son's military move. They did not box some of our items. The even put packing tape directly on one of my son's collectable that he had since he was 5yrs old. And wrote directly onto the collectable box. The packers just joke about it. Didn't want to argue. Called the company directly. Left message, never called back. Kept calling, and finally spoke to a person. Now he finally got his HHG in KS. I was there to receive all items. Foam mattress wasn't pack. They rolled and put packing tape directly. That was damaged! Computer monitor just place in the box without using packing paper. Screen was damaged. Horrible service!! Not treating items carefully. read more

Hill Worldwide Moving Services was contracted by the military to move my family. They used some of the best boxes available, but they still managed to do a terrible job. I was told that I would have four packers for three days. We lived three hours away from their office so the packers would stay in a hotel each night. On day one only two individuals showed up and they returned home instead of staying the night. I was told they would throw more man power at our house after day two if needed on day three. On day two we did receive three packers, but they didn't show up until 2:00 pm because there was another job they had to complete. They were only at our house for two hours. I called their main office to complain and got no response. On day three the same three packers arrived and were way behind schedule. One packer, Trinity, was very disrespectful to my wife when she asked him to wrap the items in paper that were going into boxes. We saw him on numerous occasions dumping things into boxes with no paper wrapping. This has resulted in countless things being broken on the receiving end. Towards the end of the day, the packers wanted to leave so they could catch a ferry home because they "were basically done." I made them stay and finish the job because I knew they still had close to ten man hours of work. I do not recommend this company and if you have no other option, do NOT let Trinity in your house. read more

I was offered by my Temp Agency, to go out and work for Moving Hill Services in Poulsbo, WA a few times this summer. The few times I worked there this summer, I kept hearing from employees that have been there for 3+ years, how the turn over rate is really high at Moving Hill Services. They mentioned how there is always new people working there, new companies who have hired them through temp agencies.... They get hired to work for Moving Hill and most of them do not return. I went out on a truck unloading move-out with Marcus, a Supervisor, and he was very rude and talked a lot of crap about other employees and mentioned to me about how much of a great guy "he is," how all the customers love him and how he always gets "tipped." He then proceeded to tell me he would put my hours in for me to management, so my temp agency could pay me. I went in the next day and he just blew it off, I even asked him about it and he gave me a dirty look and just walked away. This same guy talked smack about the owners and multiple employees. The other supervisors I worked with, were always tried putting the employees down... they did it in a evil, jokingly way... almost like they were so unhappy with themselves and/or their jobs that putting down all the younger employees down made themselves feel better... I just want to warn people about my experience working at Moving Hill Services! I now... understand why the turn over rate is so high there!!! It's sad when employees that have worked there for over 3 years... mentioned some shady things going on with management and also how the supervisors constantly bully and harass the employees and it's sad to see them just stay with the company and are ok with that harassment! I recently used Hill for a simple move, less than a mile. We packed and LABELED each of the boxes as to the CONTENTS and to which ROOM each box was to be DELIVERED. Well the best laid plans don't always work apparently. While we were cleaning our old residence we mistakenly believed that PROFESSIONAL MOVERS could be trusted to put these LABELED BOXES in the designated rooms. WRONG, we are finding boxes labeled kitchen in our master bedroom and many, many labeled boxes still sitting in our new garage. Unfortunately, we are both on the far side of 70 and will have to partially unload most of these boxes into more manageable weights to place them in their DESIGNATED location. I worked my way through university working as a movers helper for a national firm and I would have been fired if I made such rookie mistakes that we encountered with Hill. To add insult to injury, my wife paid the bill and gave each of the movers a substantial gratuity before adequately checking their work. Well live and learn and never again! read more

Continuing this review:. We recently went through some boxes that were packed by Hill moving when we moved from Joint Base Lewis Mcchord, WA to Fort Eustis, VA. We had the full Game of Thrones book set, as well as some very expensive lego sets. The lego sets and the Books are GONE! This just adds to to $400 broken tablet, 1200.00 brand new table they scratched, 1500.00 weight bench in which they lost pieces, broken ottoman. Broken 250.00 computer desk, and shattered table which was a family heirloom. They didn't mark half of the things correctly, instead they just shoved them in boxes. They offered us 58.00. They don't care that they are dealing with military families. They just shove things in half filled boxes and steal from you. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. TAKE MY WARNING!!! read more

Everything went as planned! Be sure you stick to the plan! There is a plan here! Have a plan. They came, they gave an estimate, they came back. they packed, they moved, they put everything in the house, I unpack. It was exactly what they estimated - they high end. They are paid by the hour - what did I expect? No deviations! that would have doubled the price. Yikes! Everything was moved and arrived in 1 piece. I moved 1.8 miles so what could happen? Nothing broke, nothing was ruined, everything was tidy and the guys couldn't be any nicer. The new house wasn't exactly ready as planned, so we asked about having the moving stuff stored overnight. Not good. Too busy will have to be stored for 4 nights or move it into the dirty new house and clean around it. The overnight storage is 50 to 100 bucks a night. Plus it would put the guys into overtime at 150 bucks an hour. Have a plan and stick to it! no changes. The best laid plans . . . . . . Other than flexibility, Hill was great! You get what you pay for. Its 100 bucks an hour for 2 guys. They start charging you when they leave Poulsbo - so be prepared to pay an hour and a half - $150 just for travel time. They take lunch at 11:30 for about an hour and overtime starts at 4. So - an eight hour day packing, driving, all boxes and materials and oh, yeah, moving, will cost you $800. Still, it is better than a blown back. read more

Update Review: 3 out of 5 stars. I was contacted by Hill and they told me the job after mine needed 4 guys, hence why 4 showed up. They apologized for charging us for 4 and revised the cost to reflect the originally agreed up 3 bodies. They also gave us a discount on the travel time bringing the cost down to $240 for the move. Original Review: 1 out of 5 stars. I called Hill to get an estimate on moving a bathroom vanity (with a marble counter top) up a single flight of stairs and was told $160 for 3 men for 1 hour. Not wanting to throw out my back, I booked them to help us with the move. On the day of the move, they showed up with 4 people (without running that by me). They moved the vanity easily enough, but when we received the invoice we saw that they charged us for travel time. The 4 movers was totally overkill as one of the guys barely lifted anything. The final cost ended up being over $450 to move a single piece of furniture up a flight of stairs. I've contacted Hill for resolution to this and will update this post with an update. read more

We used this company when a pipe in our living room broke and we needed to move furniture out and have it stored while the room was rebuilt. The customer service employees I dealt with were often times unresponsive. When I initially called to discuss billing they couldn't find our account and were rude about it. It turns out that they had opened the account not under our name or even the name of our general contractor, but under the name of one the general contractor's employees ... not real professional if they're expecting payment from me (which they were). They stored the furniture for about six months and when they brought it back it turns out that they had actually packed up wet furniture that was supposed to have been thrown away .... and, since it had been stored for six months, the mold and mildew had spread to other pieces of furniture which were not to be thrown away. Who packs up wet furniture (I mean a bloated and split desk and other items which were so obviously destroyed AND WET)? Also, many of the pieces of furniture came back with lots of dings and dents (several of them very deep and long and noticeable as our furniture is all dark stained). I inventoried all of the damage with the lead delivery person (who agreed that the damage had occurred on their end) and tried to pursue a discussion with the company. I was told by the lead delivery person that a woman from the office would call me to discuss the damage. After waiting 3 weeks, I called them and then it took another 2 weeks for them to call me back. They then told me that my damage claim would be limited by a weight provision in the initial contract. So, if you are foolish enough to use this company -- do not waive any of your recovery rights (I don't know if we actually did, but I was so disgusted with my interactions with this company that I made the decision not to pursue anything further with them) or agree to any weight limitation damage provisions. I certainly will never use this company again. read more

Absolutely an awesome company and staff. We moved from Gig Harbor, WA to Oregon. They packed and crated for three days, kept our goods in their truck for almost a month and delivered on time as promised. Mark and Ezra were awesome, and the local crew they hired to unload us. Cost was exactly per the estimate. Not a penny more or less. Nothing broken or missing so far. Goods were delivered three days ago and we are still unpacking. I would highly recommend them. Lynn provided the estimate. Ezra was the truck driver and organized the loading and unloading. Mark did the inventory and helped out everywhere. They are both with Hill. We had an estimator come out to our house on Wednesday for a quote. We tried calling them to confirm our move date three times over two days. No one ever called us back! We finally got them to answer their phone after the weekend at which point they told us that they date we wanted to move was no longer available because we failed to give them a deposit. How do you give a deposit to a company that won't even answer their phone or return calls?!? Now they are telling us that the soonest they can move us is TWO WEEKS later than our original date. What makes this worse is they don't care. They don't care that we tried and they didn't. They don't care that it will be two weeks. They don't care. They did, however, offer us a weekend date at an overtime rate. I can't imagine how much that will be considering their current rate is over two hundred dollars an hour. read more

This rating should be less than one star. Do NOT use this company. If you're in the military and are appointed this company then request a new one. The day of my move they showed up with one competent employee and two older gentleman who seemed hell bent on slacking off. The only thing is, that crew was told that the apartment had far less than we actually had, and since they never performed the pre-move assessment they arrived late and did not finish until 11pm. As I watched them load the truck it was apparent that they had little experience as things were mashed in a haphazard sort of way. Once my things arrived, I found that there were things broken, I had weird brown stains on my clothes, and it took weeks to find parts to the things that were disassembled. I've moved all over the world, from Guam to Florida, then Europe, San Diego, and Washington and I have NEVER had an issue like this where I felt compelled to write a review. read more

I had the BEST experience with Hill Moving. Realizing a few days before my move that I was going to need some help, I called Mike Hill and he talked me through how much stuff had to be loaded into my pod, when I should have people arrive, etc. He sent two of his men the morning after my pod arrived. They were AMAZING. Friendly. Covid safe. Knowledgeable about helping take my sleep number bed apart. And they managed to get ALL MY STUFF - a two bedroom apartment - into my 16 foot pod!!! The Hill family is such a great asset to our community. Active in Chamber of commerce, strong community supporters of Fishline and other charities. If you have any kind of local or longer distance move I would always recommend Hill Moving. They made a very stressful move so much better, and were VERY affordable. Would never recommend this company to move a thing. All in all we basically had some items that they packed stolen then pawned.

Absolutely DO NOT use this company if you value your belongings. We used them for a move from Tacoma to Denver and it wasn't pretty. The individuals that packed our things did an expedient rather than professional job. They packed a very fragile vanity mirror in a large moving box crossways without wrapping it, packed other items around it and then placed heavy items on top of it causing the spindles to snap. That's just one of the MANY MANY items that was poorly packed or simply thrown in a box. Once our items arrived in Denver we had MULTIPLE boxes of items missing that were never found despite our detailed lists and descriptions. The company then fought us tooth and nail on any compensation for their extremely poor and unprofessional service. They caused upwards of $5000 in broken or missing items and refused to do a thing about any of it. We've moved many places, including overseas, and recognize that all moves have their issues. However, Hill Worldwide was absolutely THE WORST experience we've had moving over the past fifteen years. If you are looking for a professional moving service - no matter how far you're going - look elsewhere! read more

DONT'T USE!!!! They moved my refrigerator to the garage. They had to remove the doors and in doing so damaged three doors and are only taking credit for damaging one. They said they went to a service center and ask for information about the repairs. The service center does not have any record of the discussion, additionally the service center said they probably could not get replacement doors. I called to get a quote to help unload a 12' truck for a 2-bedroom apartment and they quoted me $700!!! That was $175.00 for two men and a minimum of 4 hours because Saturday is overtime!! Really?! Most people move on the weekends! It should only take about 2 hours not 4 hours. read more

Best two moves we have had during a 27 year military career and this last move during retirement. Based on our previous great move from Hill while on active duty, we chose Hill to move us from Port Orchard to Northern Idaho. We have fragile antiques with curved glass and had NO damage. Both the pickup and delivery teams were very professional and knowledgeable. Hill temporarily stored our furniture for 10 months with no damage or signs of rodent damage. I had emailed more than 6 different moving companies that offered free estimates. Hill Moving company was the only business that contacted me back. They arrived promptly for both the estimate and for my moving day. The two young men that showed up to to do the job were very courteous and professional. They took great care in getting all my big furniture down the stairs through the tight corners without causing any damage or making any marks on the walls or furniture. They even made an extra stop at my storage unit to drop off some of it there. They finished in two hours less than the original estimate as well. Very hard working young men. As with any moving experience, things can go well or not so well so I take reading reviews w/ a grain of salt. This was my first moving experience with this company and it will be my last. Several items were broken and or damaged. Absolutely no thought was given to protecting items in transit. It was raining the day of our move (sometimes heavy) and not one piece of furniture was covered or protected from the elements. Several items were put on the ground prior to being loaded and literally sat in the rain. I find this unacceptable as we live in Seattle and it does rain here often. They were sloppy, seemingly in a hurry. I did all of the work in packing up everything. All they did was come in and transport the boxes and furniture but it still took them 3-4 more hours than I was quoted. I have a friend who used this company and their experience was similar to mine. They however did not want to write a review but I am simply writing to relay my experience. There are so many companies to choose from when you move so get several quotes. Don't be misled by the fact that they are local (if you live in Kitsap county) and therefore will do a better job and take better care of your things. Again (my opinion) is to steer clear. read more

I have never dealt with a more unresponsible, unreliable and unprofessional group of people. I moved from WA to AZ seven years ago and paid my bill in full. Left a certain amount of stuff in storage and paid faithfully for this storage for seven years now. Finally, I was able to send for my storage. Have been trying for several weeks now to arrange it. It took a couple of weeks to get answers as it was difficult to get a response. I would call, the receptionist would say that Beverly just got off the phone and would put me through. Instead of an answer, I got her voicemail. I left a message for her to call. A week later she did not return my call and I had to call back. My ex's name was the only name on the account and it took THREE attempts to finally get my name on. Then nobody acknowledged it. THEN I was told that I had an outstanding bill of $1600 to move what I put in storage from Gig Harbor to Poulsbo and my furniture would not be released until this additional bill was paid. I already had a receipt for over $5K that said my bill had been paid in full for my move. I've paid over $5800 for storage since then in monthly payments. I have a nearly perfect credit rating of 795 and always pay my bills. THIS IS EXTORTION. I have tried to reason with these people, keep getting told that one of the owners, Kay, will call me back and she never does. I have sent three emails to attempt resolve and get clarification on their newest quote to send my storage to me. No response. Do I get an attorney? Call the BBB? What? I just want my stuff back.
