What's not to like? Delicious, flavorful, gorgeous cookies. Get over there!

Ever since a random trip to Fort Bragg, California in the fall of 2011 where I found this bakery that made these divine chocolate chip cookies with everything in them, I've been on the search for other bakeries with a suitable replacement. Which began a cookie trek still in the making. So, recently I had a hunger for chocolate chip cookies so I was on Yelp thumbing through reviews. I found this place and quickly scanned their website to see what flavors were offered. I wish the "New stuff" area on their main page was highlighted or in a larger font because I completely bypassed that paragraph and missed what would have told me that their cookies are all completely Vegan. Nothing wrong with Vegan cookies but it just wasn't something I was looking for at the moment. Traditional is what I was jonesing for. Their vegan cookies are composed of no dairy, no eggs, ingredients like organic unbleached flour, organic sugar, unsulfured dried fruits, organic etc. Note that for cookies created this way to get a consistency that is close to the traditional cookie, other ingredients are used. Not chemicals or complex sugars but natural ingredients found in any fruit or vegetable market. I wonder if they supply ingredient lists to customers that need to know. They are catering not only to the vegan crowd but understandably those that are living with dietary restrictions. Nowadays there are a lot more of children and some adults that cannot have dairy or eggs. I walked in expecting to spend less than five dollars and walk out with a few cookies. Nothing is ever as expected. Many of the flavors of cookies on deck were as they say "unique" flavors. Luckily I found a chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate coffee, which I purchased. Also got a couple chocolate chip minis and a 10 or 12 oz cup of fresh, chilled, organic lemonade sweetened with organic cane sugar. Total was just above $12 dollars! Big cookies are $2.50 each, lemonade $4. Pricey. The chocolate chip has an interesting flavor, I tasted hints of coconut in it and its texture was like that of a soft baked cookie. I would return for another in the future. The mini's were like pecan sandies or biscotti in it's texture, I wasn't thrilled but the lemonade was perfect. It was a sultry 95 degrees that day and the lemonade was equally tart and tasty. Needless to say I would order another the next time it's humid. It's shared knowledge that they sell cookies at Whole Foods as well. I commented to the store keeper that I travel through the area often and have never seen this shop. It'd be awesome if they sent cookie pushers onto Lincoln ave, hopping the stretch of so many bars out there. Which are a few mere blocks away. Some of which have beer gardens or open exteriors in the warm months. If I saw a cookie pusher with a great price and a smile, I'd buy a cookie.

Every summer my husband daughter and I look forward to the Horner Park farmer's market because of Hillary's Cookies stand. The scones are among the best I've ever had aside from a friend's Irish granny. We absolutely love them. The man who works the stand is such a joy and makes our Saturday so much better! We love seeing him- he's like a legend in our family because we get so excited to talk to him, haha! He gave me the most amazing tip for the scones which is cut them in half and stick them in the oven at 350 for like seven minutes.. serve with butter and your in heaven. Wish I could really convey what joy this baking company brings to my family but I'm truly not even doing it justice!

Pros: Cookies were warm, soft, and delicious. Made me forget about all my problems for a few seconds as I gobbled them down. Cons: My hopes were raised when I looked at the menu and started to order but were then dashed quite expertly as the server said that it was outdated.

I get the egg, cheese,& hash brown sandwich. The fluffy egg is magic. Potato bun is soft. Hash brown is crispy. The Ube latte is delicious hot or iced. But the star of the show is the pastries. That huckleberry basque is my favorite. Fast, friendly service. The outdoor patio is adorable. They bring your food out to you. Oh yeah, they stop some of the breakfast items at noon though. By the time I completed my order, the pickup time was 12:15pm. However, it's nice to order from wherever you are and know what time to swing by for your pickup. When I got there, the line wasn't as crazy as I've seen photos of, but it was still long. You get to walk inside past the line for online pick up. There's a sign on the counter. They make any drinks you order fresh when you get there, and it's really quick too! Service was very friendly and fast inside! The ube latte was one of the best ube flavors I've had in an ube latte before. Highly recommend! I had it iced. The pork belly adobo (only available on weekends I think) was a little disappointing. It's very possible it wasn't that great because it might've been sitting a few minutes before I picked it up and then it was 15-20 minutes uber back to my hotel to eat it. Food is always better when eaten fresh, so I don't fault them for it. The egg was perfectly cooked. I thought the pork belly would be cut in bigger chunks like their photos online, but they were cut very small. I want to try the breakfast sandwich next time I'm in town. The chocolate chip cookie with dark and white chocolate was big, soft, and yummy. I also got the banana tart which was SO good. It was not what I expected, but the flavors and textures were spot on. They have some benches on the side of their restaurant so if you do online order for pickup, I'd recommend trying to grab a spot there and eat the food fresh. I would recommend the baked goods and ube latte, not sure about the hot food until I can go back and try more menu items.

This is a fast casual spot so service was pretty fast. There is a decent amount of seating, most of which was surprisingly taken around 11am on a Thursday. For starters, they no longer have their rainbow cake! I was surprised to hear that considering how popular it's supposed to be. We got both banana lattes which were extremely sweet. It's basically dessert with a hint or caffeine. I'm a big fan of banana, so I actually liked this but I would've preferred half the sweetness. The Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant was so good! A solid breakfast sandwich - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the turkey bacon was insanely crispy, and that sambal aioli was just what this needed. I highly recommend adding Avocado like I did for some freshness & creaminess since it's a heavy sandwich as is. The Cinnamon Roll was soft, moist, and not overly sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed this breakfast!

Glorious. One-of-a-kind. Amazing. Definitely some of the best pastries I've had in Chicago…read morerecently. If you haven't made it over to Sugar Moon yet, it's well worth a trek out of the way! We visited around noon on a Sunday, and after reading the reviews here, I wasn't optimistic there would be many pastries left. Maybe I should play the lottery, because luckily there was no line and a pretty good selection of pastries left. The staff were super friendly and there were so many unique flavors of baked goods. We decided to split several and opted for the blueberry cloud cookie, chai cinnamon roll, banana pudding croissant, espresso cornflake cookie, and potato focaccia. The shop was more of a small take-out operation, so we took the pastries to a nearby park to eat. Everything was absolutely divine! The group favorite was the focaccia- the creamy potatoes and cheese brought a rich flavor that was perfectly balanced by the fluffy bread. The chai roll was perfectly soft and delicately spiced, completed with that soft cream cheese frosting and gooey center we all like to see. My personal favorite was the banana pudding croissant- the dough was so crispy that I'm pretty sure others could hear the bite, and there was a generous amount of filling with fresh bananas and visible vanilla beans in the whipped cream. The espresso cookie was super soft- while I couldn't taste the espresso very clearly, I absolutely *loved* the caramel-coated cornflakes topped with sea salt. Super unique and would definitely order again. Despite their decadent appearances, none of the pastries were too sweet. Already plotting a return visit and can't recommend this shop enough!
