Meh. Place is rather fugly and plain. Not very well cared for with weeds growing all over the place, no table service and poor bar service. Beer is good but there are soooo many breweries to choose from, why would I want to come here? Let me tell you, for the opportunity to share my experience with all y'all. Upstairs serves wine, but that wasn't very clear. And why only upstairs? The back has an outdoor patio, but it's messy and cluttered with whiskey barrels and not enough tables. Nobody came by to pick up glasses at any table, and for a Friday evening, it was pretty sparse. I didn't see a single employee outside. I did enjoy the Caught Looking Cream Ale and was pleasantly surprised by the Chili Lime flavored beer. But the selection of pub food wasn't the best and again, the atmosphere wasn't fun. Had a micro wedding reception here at the top of the brewery! It was such a perfect way to end the wedding ! The staff serving us was wonderful. Open area with games. It was perfect! Drinks are amazing as well. The upstairs has a full bar with liquor and beer. Downstairs is the tap room. We just had a small hiccup with reserving the private room bc the event coordinator wouldn't answer emails. She actually never got back to me. This brewery had plenty of room and parking! Inside there were table to sit at, big comfy couches, or the bar! This place does not serve food but above the place is a restaurant with a pick up counter so you can order at the brewery using a QR code and pick up the food and bring it back down to enjoy! They had many games available as well. This brewery is pet friendly but did not smell like it was! I had the proczech ya neck and it was good. I had a juicy pale ale and a hazy IPA and my fiancé tried a red ale and an IPA. All of our beers were good and exactly what we expected, or better. What really blew our minds, though, was the brisket tacos. Oh. My. God. Don't even think about it, just order them. We loved them so much we debated getting another order and stopping by the next day for a to-go order as we headed home. Based on the tacos alone, I'd bet that all of their food is wonderful. There is ample seating here - downstairs at the bar or high tops, on the patio, or upstairs. On a nice day, definitely sit outside. We came in on a Monday at 2:30. The food was absolutely horrible. They have a very small menu. No burgers or fries on the menu. The only two kids options are hotdogs and two chicken legs. They were out of hotdogs and only had one order of chicken legs left. They came out cold and looked like they were sitting out for days. Everyone working had an attitude. We were told to get our own menus, when we ordered water to drink we were told "it's right behind me you can get it yourself". We had to walk over to the table next to the bar to get our own side plates. We ordered chips and salsa and when we asked if we could try the habanero to see if it's too hot we were told "we don't do food sampling here". We also ordered pulled pork sandwiches, brisket sandwiches, Cesar salad and the tacos. The Dr Pepper was flat Everything that should have been hot came out lukewarm, chicken was completely cold and when we asked to heat it up we got attitude. Its not family friendly. Save your money and spend it somewhere you are treated like they appreciate your business. If your reading this you may want to hire people who customer service oriented. Great beer, great atmosphere, and great customer service. Our favorite was the pink lemonade beer. I am not a huge beer drinker, but this one was very solid. It did not have a hoppy taste, and both my wife and I really enjoyed drinking it. We sat on the patio and had a great view of the surrounding mountains. Dog friendly, so we also had the company of another parties dog, who would come visit us. We loved Frisco and this is one of the reasons why. read more

Highside is great, especially after you figure out how the different parts of this brewery work. The upstairs is where you dine and its all self-service. They don't have servers here so you order your food at the bar, are assigned a number, and someone will deliver your food to you when its ready. They have an area for utensils and take out boxes which you handle yourself. We tried the flat bread and poutine and enjoyed both! They have very limited amount of beer and other drinks upstairs. Downstairs is where there's a large amount of beer to try. There's no food downstairs though. On the night we went they had live music which was nice. They allow pets inside the brewery. There were quite a few dogs the night we went. We're not a fan of pets inside restaurants but its Colorado so.....we dealt with it. read more

What a great brewery in Frisco! This place is very easy to find since it's right off the main highway. My mom and I stopped in here after white water rafting (Performance Tours down the street was great). This is a pretty casual place were you seat yourself and walk up to the counter to order beer and food. It was nice having some board games to play - we opted for battleship - while waiting for our food. I had two beers the Swim and the Float beers. Both were easy to drink and very tasty. The food came out relatively quick. My mom and I both ordered tacos. Each order comes with three tacos and a little side of salsa to top your tacos with. I thought they tasted very fresh and delicious (even though I don't necessarily love mushrooms). We were still kinda hungry after the tacos so we ordered the pretzel bites. They were DELICIOUS! Very soft and came with cheese and mustard to dip. It was a perfect sharing size for two people. I'd recommend stopping by here if you have the chance, it was a great spot to spend a Sunday afternoon. read more

Really 4.5 stars. The only negative things our party of 4 had to say about the place was the mint beer wasn't good and my brisket tacos were not hot enough. Now for all the reasons you should stop here... The brisket nachos... Really anything with their brisket is a winner, that delicious mac and cheese in the tiny cast iron skillet, their IPA is on point, the peanut butter Porter was fantastic. They had a nice warm fire burning. The music was a real crowd pleaser. Our server had the most lovely accent and was attentive and friendly. Used to have the best BBQ (loved the nachos!) but the last 3 times we've been in, the food has been wayyy below par and once actually inedible. I stopped in at Highline for a beer and lunch after my first ski day of the season. It was the right place, with friendly staff and great beer. The chile beer was fantastic, and warms you up from the inside out. Don't sleep on the brisket smoked on site. Or the mac and cheese served in a mini cast iron skillet. Want food order in one place and be prepared to WAIT A LONG TIME for sub par snacks, want the full complement of beer wait in another line. Want a mixed drink go upstairs to what used to be one of the best places to hang out in Frisco and be disappointed in the bartender. Oh and finally the beer. I was encouraged by the variety & imaginative combinations of flavors but everything I tasted was flat, and none of the flavors really developed into a delicious beer. For several years now Highside has been my favorite brewery in the whole state. For a lot of reasons: -Great beer (i'd argue the best in terms of taste and variety) -Great atmosphere -Great food Having asaid all that, we recently came in over the weekend and the service was pretty terrible. I virtually never tip less than 20% and I only tipped 15% that day, it was so bad. The waitress was dismissive, was rushing our order, was rude about things on the menu (we asked if a side was available and she responded "If its not on the menu, we don't have it."), and seemed generally annoyed that we were even there. I love this place so much I'm still giving it five stars but I was pretty turned off by this experience. it was the worst service I've had at any restaurant in months. I hope they don't turn this into a repeat. Still great food and beer though. read more

I was extremely excited to visit Highside Brewing. It was the first brewery in Colorado my girlfriend went to, so I thought it would be special to go together, since we newly moved to the state. When we arrived, the place was pretty dead. I was one of three people at the bar. I waited almost 20 minutes, without a greeting. Needless to say, I was not served a beer within the timespan. Instead, we went over to Outer Range, which was packed, but managed to get beers within minutes.
