Wow, such wonderful customer service! My teen son really wanted to wear contacts and it's a tricky thing to learn at any age. They were kind, patient and encouraging. We went back a few times and they would spend time helping him learn to get them in and out. They worked around his school schedule to make sure he could learn in time for basketball tryouts. It took a few times but he would have given up if not for the wonderful staff at HD eye care! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went in for a simple adjustment, and they ended up breaking my frames. Instead of owning up to it, they tried to hide it by just handing them back with the lens out. When I confronted them, they refused to help and actually accused me of lying, suggesting the frame was already broken when I arrived. The lack of integrity and basic customer service here is unbelievable. Avoid this place if you value your glasses. read more

I recently came here for my annual eye exam and had a nice experience. It was easy to make an appointment online and they followed up via phone to ensure my insurance information was correct. Upon arrival, I had to fill out a couple of forms and there was a bit of a wait to start the exam. I eventually saw Dr. Jacobs and he was very friendly. I felt at ease and confident in my final prescription and appreciate him taking his time to answer questions and help. They have plenty of glasses to choose from but I also appreciated that they didn't push them and were fine with me taking my prescription home as I stewed on what exactly I wanted. In addition to the eye exam, they offer a retinal exam for an extra fee which they didn't push but highly encouraged for next time. Overall, I'd be happy to come back here annually for my eye care. Parking is easy to find in the large parking lot shared by King Soopers and the neighboring businesses. read more

Dr. Jacobs is condescending and rude. Aside from Fran, the nursing staff is too busy loudly gossiping, spying on private conversations patients are having, and goofing around to be helpful. This place is unprofessional and has a very lame selection of eye ware. You'd be far better off going to Lenscrafters. When I told my husband he said in the past he and our daughter had an awful experience here too.....Wish that memo hadn't gotten missed, to save me a huge headache dealing with this sloppy, uncaring place Awful. read more

I've been going here for a few years, Dr. Jacobs was great, however after this past experience, we won't be going back. I don't mind how pushy they are trying to sell glasses and contacts through them, I understand it's a business. My issue is when I brought my wife for the first time, Dr. Jacobs crossed his expertise field and was body shaming my few month postpartum wife. Nothing with any of her imaging and eye sight would have lead to this. It was not his place to say the things he said, nor is she even unhealthy. Just because he has the title "Dr." shouldn't mean he has the audacity to step out of his field of study. read more

Best eye doctor ever. Dr Karla Quinton was the best eye doctor my husband and I have ever visited. She took the time to make sure we were happy with our updated prescriptions with a level of care I have never experienced before with an eye doctor. Usually I just feel like a number, but she was very personable, listened and helped determine a prescription that worked. I highly recommend. read more

Been going here even when they were in their other location on County Line. The whole fam goes to see Doc Larry for out annual checkups. So far so good so far! His original staff folks are sooo nice! I have never had glasses in my life and was so excited to get my purple framed reading glasses. When I first got them I wore them just like an accessory. Then my script was bumped up to a little stronger and I got a second pair...which felt a bit too strong but on those I got UV protection on them cause I sit in front of a computer so much. My BF wears contacts so he first started with custom lenses made here in (Golden?) CO. More recently he is trying a different brand of custom lenses which he says are way more comfortable than the others, but still needs one side to be fitted. I am blessed with decent eyes but I know they do degrade over time so it is nice to know we have a great eye doc to keep them in check! read more

I had the best optometry experience I've ever had. Dr. Smith was wonderful and did an amazing job explaining everything, being patient, and made the assessment simple. Jackie was the M.A and she is was so sweet and easy to talk to. And Fran helped me get my contacts ordered (got me a great deal) and didn't pressure me at all. Truly a great experience!! read more

Updated review for 2021. All around excellent eye care from all staff to include Dr Jacobs. Was able to reschedule an appointment without issue, and they have a great optical department. The doctor is super knowledgeable and extremely patient-centered. Great 'chair side' manner!! Highly recommend without question for all your eye care needs. Was belittled and treated like a child by the optometrist, I assume because I hadn't been to see an eye-doctor in over 10 years. Getting scolded for not knowing how to take a test properly and for not knowing a "20-20-20" term, and getting cut off and told I was wrong when trying to explain fatigue related issues I was having with my eyes. The rest of the staff were fantastic and a pleasure to work with. The location is clean, and the selection of frames was fine for a shop of that size. read more

What a great experience! Such a wonderful group of people that really made you feel welcome, from the second you walk in, till the second you're walking out! What a secret gem! With a complicated prescription (and previously being in the field) I was able to walk out feeling confident that I got the best prescription. This is my second year going to them. Doctors are super sweet and know their stuff. So are the staff. I got my prescription sunglasses made through them Maui Jim's. The service and commitment to customer satisfaction is commendable. I just ordered a new pair today, Kendra the staff there was super helpful in deciding the right Maui Jim sunglasses and the right lenses for the same. I recently moved here and picked Highlands Ranch HD Eye Care because of the high ratings. Today, was my first visit, and it was no different. All the staff were really nice and helpful. I saw Dr. Karla Quinton and thought she was very personable. She also had a nice sense of humor. We used several pieces of equipment to measure, track, and assess eye health. She explained the exam output from the various machines. At middle age, she spent time trying to understand my contact vision concerns and the various ways she can work to address them. I was very pleased with her suggestions. Unlike other optometrist offices where you take your prescription somewhere else for glasses, there is no need here. The office also has a large selection of designer eyeglass wear. read more

I had such a fabulous experience with this office today. My right pupil has randomly dilated three times over the past couple of months (last time was yesterday afternoon) and a stupid google search at midnight last night had me convinced I was nearing my demise. I called over at 8am this morning and explained my situation and they got me in as soon as they could today. Pretty amazing for a new patient! But that wasn't even the best part. Everyone in this office is so friendly and I truly enjoyed my experience with Dr. Jacobs. He was very kind, patient, and funny and we both had a good laugh when he figured out after my exam that the culprit to my randomly dilated pupil was not a brain tumor and was instead the visine drops I've been using. Thanks for the heart attack, google... Good people, excellent service, and a convenient location. I've found my official eye doctor and I can't recommend Dr. Jacobs and his office highly enough! read more

I wrote a review under Bill B. on the service I received by the receptionist on 12/11/2020 I won't retract the comment I left because I feel that it was justified, and although I was very frustrated at the time I do need emphasize that when I called to speak with the Dr. (owner) that he had called me back very shortly after I had called and asked to speak with him. He was extremely polite, soft spoken and very apologetic so I felt compelled to at least post my thoughts after receiving his call. My family and I will continue to go there, but the guest service needs some improvement. read more

I'm a little bummed that I called to get an appointment. I wanted to confirm my current prescription, because I am at that age where things start changing. Oh boy! The kind lady at the front desk said that in order to use my medical insurance, I would need a medical appointment, but they could do the eye exam at the same time. She was wrong. I know the lady at the front desk was trying to be helpful, but she was DEAD WRONG. Not only did I know my own insurance better than she did, but she was also wrong that they could do a medical appointment AND a regular exam at the same time. SO...I walk in for my regular exam and am told that they can't do one, because I have a medical appointment. I explain the situation to the doctor, and she's a little mad at me because I'M BEING DIFFICULT. Ya know, cause I want what I called in for? :( So they give me something to hold over one eye and make sure I can read the 20/20 line in my current prescription as a compromise? I SHOULD HAVE CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY RIGHT THEN. But no, I want to be polite. I wait until I have the medical exam and they try to sell me more eye drops (that don't work.) I go out to the parking lot and call my insurance and they say I 'm right, that my coverage includes a free annual exam. So it's close to closing, and I don't want to bother the kind folks at the counter anymore, so I go in and ask for the appointment that I wanted to begin with. They're happy to take a second appointment, and take a second payment from my insurance, charging me a copay that I wouldn't have paid if I hadn't listened to their front desk staff. They don't feel sorry that they steered me wrong, or go out of their way to apologize for the confusion. You know, it doesn't take much to say I'm sorry and verify my insurance when I get there. Instead, it was up to me to stand up to them and either walk out or make a phone call in the middle of the appointment. It's my fault for taking their suggestion. Bummer. Won't be back. read more

I've been to numerous optometrists, and Dr. Jacobs and his staff is by far the best. They are timely, professional, and friendly. The waiting room is comfortable and well-stocked with magazines and even snacks, tea, coffee, juice, and water. Most importantly, however, the exam itself is extremely thorough. Dr. Jacobs is incredibly knowledgable, taking time for a non-rushed, accurate eye exam. He doesn't just quickly generate your prescription, he focuses on your overall eye health. Some of the finest service I have received! Took a broken pair of glasses with good lenses in along with a similar frame but old lenses. They switched out the lenses, including having to restring the frame to accommodate larger lenses, switched out the nose pads, cleaned up the glasses, and overall saved us hundreds of dollars While making old glasses look brand new. When I went to pick them up and asked what the charge was, Ashley and Laine Said there was no charge. This is literally a repair that took an hour and a half or more and they didn't even charge us! We will come here for all of our future optical needs! read more
