Gluten free and dairy free eaters you can rejoice in knowing you'll have a ton of options here! And the meals were all super creative and unique. We walked in at closing time (not realizing we thought it was open another hour) and they could not have been more welcoming. We got the roasted veggie with almond app, risotto (using dairy free cheese) and mushroom pizza. The pizza toppings were a *tad* dry but I'm really reaching to find anything negative. Thank you for starting off our weekend away in a yummy, welcoming way. read more

Always end up taking a detour when traveling to the Berkshires from Boston to stop at Paradiso in Northampton for a guaranteed excellent meal. Tonight made the usual turn in the center of town and discovered Paradiso was gonzo. In its place is High Brow. The good news is this Is mucho Paradiso. A nice eclectic menu that still includes its primo wood fired pizzas. Nice wine selection too. Excellent salads loaded with tons of fresh veggies. Didn't have room for dessert because of the generous portions from the main course. Nice warm friendly vibe from the wait staff, special shout out to Amber. There's a lot of restaurants around but this one hits all the right marks for a satisfying meal at a decent price. read more

Where do I start? Sticky ribs and calamari apps were amazing-salmon dinner, strip steak and fried shrimp scampi were all delicious. Our server was punctual, helpful, funny and friendly. The only question is when can I get back? read more

Been coming here for years. Food is awesome, so we didn't expect anything different from what we've already experienced. Today we had Emma as our waitress... the absolute sweetest!! Perfect suggestions, prompt service and an absolute pleasure to talk to. Highly recommend both!!!! read more

This restaurant is awesome! Eclectic and cool, many different books to hang with friends and enjoy the cool food! The bar is a great spot to sit to watch the kitchen crank! read more

HighBrow is amazing! The drinks, food and atmosphere are the best in the area. We love to cook at home - my husband is an amazing cook and mixologist. It takes us a lot to go and and even more to be impressed. HighBrow is it! Great staff too that make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Akasia was a great sever and made the perfect recommendations for us. The sticky ribs and wings are the best. We'll be back! read more

Because of the quality of the food here, its presentation, and the creativity and quality of their cocktails , you would think you were in Manhattan instead of a side street in Northampton. The only exception to that would be the staff who are funky and real, instead of being fueled by the pretension Manhattan restaurants requires. Awesome place. Can't rave enough about it! read more

Highbrow gas an amazing atmosphere with quick service and amazing food. I was very impressed to find out the restaurant just opened because everything was operating like a well oiled machine. We ordered the Mac N Cheese, Chop Chop Salad, and Umbria pizza with arugula in top. Everything was so fresh and delicious. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! Pizza's were phenomenal. Had the Duck pizza per the recommendation of Chelsea our wonderful server. That one is a must! Wish I had room for the truffle pizza which I could smell from the table next to me. Yum! Tuna appetizer was also fantastic. I must say, what I really loved were the wine choices. The Sangiovese for the red and the Muga white Rioja were so great that I would come back just for the wine. Will come back here again and again. Great job!! read more

The esprit de corps of the entire staff was clear. The service was excellent. We observed a happy buzz in the very busy space, where everyone seemed to be having a good time. We had a table on the mezzanine and could see the tables below and noted the beautiful plating of signature dishes besides the pizza. We ordered two individual pizzas, a Margherita and an Old World, both were excellent. The staff have pride in their work and want very much to please. read more

I had placed an order a while back and had to cancel because of a family emergency. I called the restaurant and left a message but unfortunately they didn't receive it until later (they were not open yet). I was going to fall on the sword and just eat the loss. The owner called me back and was willing to give me full refund. I was blown away by this that I asked for credit so we both ended up winning. Great place, great food and honest people!! read more

Helpful...and cheerful server named Crystal. Great food and drinks. We sprung for desert which we rarely do.Wife had salad with scallops.Ihad the old world pizza. Wife had an excellent pinot noirs. I had two drafts including the house lager. read more

We stopped off for dinner on the way back from VT as it was midway. Very few places were open on a Monday night for dinner, and am so glad I found this one. As soon as we walked in it felt like we lucked out. Even though it was packed, the hostess cleared off a table that had just left for us and we didn't have to wait at all. The waitress was helpful and friendly and all said and done the meal took about an hour, which was really all we had. I had the chicken pesto pizza which was delish, and we shared the fried goat cheese starter, which was also very good. My husband had a burger which he enjoyed, and a side of roasted veg. Would definitely recommend this place. Shame it's so far from home! read more

Mediocre to decent food but the service is really really slow. Would recommend sitting outside instead of inside....

Hello, my name is Patrick and I had come in last night with two guests and I would just like to take the time to say how amazing our service and food was. My pepperoni pizza was phenomenal. Kayleen was an excellent server as well, and i will definitely be back to try more of the menu read more

Really nice people all around, enthusiastic, happy to be doing this which really makes it great. I would say that the food needs a slightly more delicate touch though to pull it off; a tad bit too much cheese on the pizza the fish was a tad bit salty, the wines were not stored at the right temp so they lost some of the light touch. Overall was really fun and wonderful wishing the best of luck. read more

First time here, and definitely won't be the last . Our server , Anna, was so friendly. Would love to have her everytime we visit this place. No Tito's here (just beer and wine) so I got the next best thing , a glass of Cabernet and my bf got the artifact hard cider . She recommended the mussels- because the sauce they're in is amazing. She wasn't wrong, it was delicious . Creamy sauce with sausage and fennel , and some toasted Crostini's on the side to soak up that sauce (Wish I took a picture of them ). For dinner, my bf got the peppercorn encrusted NY strip with risotto instead of mashed taters and I got the Olde world pizza , and altho it's a white pie , in addition to how it comes I asked to have red sauce on it as well (SO good) . Not sure if this is an every Monday thing , but we got half off the pizza . Even more of an incentive to try more of their hearth baked pizzas , on a Monday! And because I love food and couldn't decide what I actually wanted to eat , I got a side of their mac n' cheese, also because our great server , Anna, recommended that as well. It was super cheesy and really tasty. The only negative thing I can say about our first time here, and it has nothing to do with their food, but the music was kind of weird, not really our taste or type we'd thought we'd hear in that type of a restaurant. But- the food was amazing, our server, Anna was the best, & We will definitely be going back. read more

These folks make awesome pizza! I've ordered from them a few times almost all of which have been fantastic. My most recent order (a pizza with 3 different toppings on each side, which to be fair is a lot to ask) had its toppings mixed up but they were generous enough to remake free of charge. Absolutely delicious and great folks all around! read more

We were looking for a higher end pizza serving with outdoor dining and High Brow had the perfect combination. Lovely atmosphere and good pricing for more artisanal food. We got the sticky ribs which were plated beautifully and tasted great. We also got the margherita and truffle pizza. The margherita was pretty good, simple tomato and basil combination, but the truffle did not taste like truffle at all, a bit too cheesy and just tasted like plain mushrooms. The crust was the most delicious part. Will come again and try other menu items. read more

Wow! We had such a great dinner here! I have a gluten allergy and they were able to provide a gluten free fried calamari appetizer! The gluten free pizza I had was so delicious too! The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a really great meal here. Would highly recommend! read more

Umbria Pizza was very tasty but a little salty. Margherita has a ton of cheese and a flavorful sauce. Crust was crunchy with a floury base. Nicely charred on the edges. Kids' cheese pizza was the same size as the regular menu small pizzas - a generous portion for a child. Friendly service in a relaxed but classy atmosphere. read more

We've been a dozen times and have yet to discover a fault let alone a glaring fault. The consistency is remarkable. Chef Drew is demonstrating a talent that is rare in these parts. Over this short period of time I've witnessed a level of hospitality that is so remarkable. Greeting people like family and demonstrating a genuine care in how each persons visit was, it's so perfect. The wine selection is appropriate and is reasonably priced. The food is prepared expertly, the recipes are of high order, the desserts are of expert level, made in house...on and on! Great job! Five stars! read more

Good pizza although I think the flavor could be balanced a bit more. I ordered duck pizza and that was really heavy, which urged me to order a class of red wine. The price for food I think it's a bit higher than its portion and quality though the price for drinks were quite generous so I guess that could balance it out alright. Octopus appetizer-the octopus was charred too much so it got bitter. But the baby Bibb salad was quite good. I also ordered mushroom pizza and it was pretty good except just a little too much cheese and the kitchen forgot to sprinkle scallion on top. Will come again! read more

Over-priced and mediocre (at best). To start, service ranged from an incompetent hostess, who took 25 minutes to locate our reservation, to our holier than thou, arrogant wait person. Food ranged from ok salad to inedible pizzas. Cocktails were excellent,; almost worth the half hour + wait. Their signature ribs were meh and doused in cloyingly sweet sauce. The braised beef pizza was a study in mediocrity - a tribute to old school, New England, bad cooking. Fish and chips was passable. The clincher was the gag-inducing duck confit pizza. Invisible duck on a stale slab of matzoh, spread with cloying (did I use that term already?) fig jam. It was In between a bad pbj&j and a wooden shingle. Not worth the money. read more

I know its covid and restaurants are not doing well. But when your drinks come after the peoples who sat after you and they got there's . Thats just the start of my lack of beverage attention the next 2 drinks I had to ask for 2 times. Our app was the calamari and it was over cooked but that happens to the best restaurants. Our waiteesss was very sweet not a good experience. We discussed to try this restaurant because they had outside dining. Will spend my money at other restaurants. read more

The most exciting new Northampton restaurant in years. Chef Drew Brow is bold, versatile and committed to quality. He has adapted a huge variety of dishes to the wood fired oven including a killer calamari and a sublime trout over risotto. Tonight I had a stellar Bolognese over pappardelle. You must try the sticky ribs and his take on Mac and cheese. He has kept a few of the classic pizzas from the prior tenant, Paradiso, and invented several of his own. Our server Krystal was knowledgeable, attentive and charming. Highest possible rating!!!!! read more

AMAZING food and a great bang for your buck. Perfect outdoor dining set up - spaces out tables under a large canopy for shade. My fiancé and I started with the sticky ribs + fried goat cheese (2 separate apps). Both were delicious. Then for dinner we did the Umbria pizza (DROOL! Perfectly crispy crust) and the bolognese. So flavorful! read more

This is a great place! I enjoyed dinner here last night with six friends. Our choices varied from the chicken dinner ,pizzas and even a burger. Everyone loved their food. I ordered the chicken pesto pizza small size and it was enough to bring some home. The place has a casual vibe yet the food presentation was sophisticated. Our server Arrianna was charming and very attentive. Thanks for the fun night out. Susan read more

The basement atmosphere is not conducive to dining at all ! The pizza crust was good but the toppings were sparse for the price.

Awesome pizza! Definitely an upscale place. I really liked the open kitchen and seeing the variety of dishes they were serving up. I knew I wanted pizza but wanted to try something else along with it. The waitresses (Wilona) recommended the Sticky Ribs and they didn't disappoint. They were like Asian Pork Belly with a sweet heat! The Duck Pizza (Shredded Duck Confit, Caramelized Onion, Goat cheese, Fig Jam, Arugula, Aged Balsamic Vinegar) had a thin crust that was slightly weighed down at the tip by the number of toppings but I didn't care because everything blended well and was delicious. My friend tried a slice and his eyes widened a bit as he nodded in approval while scarfing down the rest of it! Definitely a place to check out alone, with friends or on a date. Arnold Schwarzenegger said it best... I'll be back. read more

So glad to have been able to try out this new restaurant. It was a busy night but didn't feel chaotic; rather there was just a nice energy to the place. Everything we had was delicious. We started with the ahi tuna which was prepared beautifully and melted in our mouths. The arugula salad was excellent and had a nice combination of flavors. We both ordered the Carolina trout dish from the menu. This came with two large pieces of fish served over a wonderful risotto with braised kale. The risotto had great flavor (lots of garlic!) and between the kale, risotto and fish, the flavors came together perfectly to make a very satisfying dish. By this time, we were way too full to even consider the dessert menu (though the couple at the table next to us ordered desserts and they looked great!) This is a great new addition to the downtown restaurant scene. We will be back soon to try more. read more

A group of 8 of us went to dinner at High Brow after seeing Camelot at the Academy of Music on Nov. 3. We were promptly seated in the private dining room downstairs. That was perfect as we needed to review the show and talk nonstop! Crystal was our server and she was amazing! She got everything perfect and attended to our every need without being intrusive. She was friendly yet professional. She seemed eager to please each of us. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. No complaints from 8 individuals-that's pretty good in my book! Our checks were accurate even though we paid in groups of 2 or 3. Great food-great service-great place! What more could one ask for? Definitely a 5 star evening! Thanks so much! Cindy L read more

We came for the first time on a very busy Saturday night. We did have to wait for a table, however the host William was especially friendly and kept us updated on when our table would be ready multiple times. It was nice to not feel forgotten! William is great at his job. While we were waiting the owner, Andrew, asked us if we were being helped which was nice especially considering he was acting as expo on the food line. I've been in the restaurant business for 20 years myself, and it was very impressive to see him not only manage the food line, but to also greet guests, give the host specific instructions regarding which table to split on a busy night after seeing a table of 2 being surrounded by waiting customers, and he also went to tables offering Parmesan cheese! Now THAT'S a dedicated owner/chef. Our food came without delay, and everything tasted wonderful. We wish we had time for dessert! Next time! Great place with a great vibe, I hope to see you guys again soon! Best mac n' cheese I've tasted in a restaurant!! Good luck, I hope you guys stay busy and successful. Well done Andrew! -JK read more

I went here with a lady friend of mine on a whim just on a wonderful Friday night. Highbrow was so great! We did not have a reservation so we couldn't sit on their authentic Italy style patio! Instead we sat in their authentic Italy style inside. So rustic yet so chic. Slightly pricey but you get what you pay for such a high class event! To say it was the best pizza of my life would be an understatement. I would literally do anything to eat this again! I could not recommend this establishment more! I have never felt more at peace after eating at such a restaurant. Somebody give get these guys+girls a round of applause!!!! read more

Based on so many 5-star reviews, my expectations were maybe too high. Saturday night with a reservation. Waited forever to be seated (or even acknowledged). They have the same hosts who would be seating you taking all the (many) phone orders, too, so you're just stuck standing there forever while they deal with the phones. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, but forgot my side of vegetables. Pizzas were good, pasta bolognese was meh. Most of the chefs you can see in the open kitchen weren't wearing masks properly, which didn't feel great to me as a patron. Overall, it was fine, but given all the other choices in the area, I probably won't return. read more

This is my first Yelp review although I use the app often for recommendations. I had to write about Highbrow. We have only done takeout from here due to COVID. My family agrees that they have the best pizza and wings in town. The sauce on the wings is spicy with a bit of sweet and they are wood-fired to perfection. The Margherita pizza is simple, yet incredibly flavorful and delicious. Crust is crispy and thin, but not too thin that it lacks substance. Highbrow will be on our regular takeout rotation! read more
