I have shopped here at least 25-30 times. Provisions is great. The staff has always been very helpful and courteous. Provisions is a real gem. The variety of wine and craft beer available for sale is exceptional. When I have been shopping here for wine, between the selection at Provisions, and the staff or my Vivino app, ...I have never walked out of there without an interesting, delicious and well priced bottle. They have wines that range from 10$ to 100$+. All are good! I have purchased many different craft beers as well ...and the selection is almost as wide as the wine selection. Provisions has vendors of different wines or beers in very often so you can sample something new and talk to the manufacturer. For example, they had someone representing Moldavian wines in once, which I sampled and loved, so I bought a bottle. Last but not least, the food selection is very gourmet oriented. I have purchased some of the cheeses and also never been disappointed. Provisions is a well run business. The management is smart and the collection of "provisions" is eclectic, cool and TASTY! Go check it out for something exceptional and different. Feel free to let the staff assist you - they will be happy to do so. The staff is really very knowledgeable. A+ for you Provisions.

    Loved the wine tasting!

Northampton has been surprising me non-stop. Provisions helped seal the deal. This is one of the best cellar/pantry shops I have ever visited. Add this to the list of places in New England where you can just leave me here all day and i'll be happy. On a rainy day, we stopped in and joined the complimentary wine tasting happening at the front of the store. We sampled 6 wines and ended up taking home the Mayu, a reasonably priced white wine from Chile. We had a lovely time learning about each of the wines available for purchase in the store. My photos don't do it justice, but the wine here is beautifully organized and extends in neatly packed rows as far as the eye can see. You could spend hours perusing their deep and creative selections. After choosing our wine, we visited the meat and cheese counter, where they actually have photos of the cows and farmers that made the cheese. How stinkin' cute is that! We purchased two cheeses from Vermont farmer Fritz Gerber and wife (I swear I didn't make that name up) and their cow, Pretty Lady. I can't say i've ever been able to know the origins of my cheese! The gals at the counter were super helpful and entertained all of our questions while giving us generous samples. They also were excited to share photos of the farmers who made the cheeses. Their pantry is well-stocked with anything you could ever need to make the charcuterie board or dinner of your dreams. I love, love this place so much, that I honestly can't wait to visit the next time i'm in town. Do yourself a favor and visit Provisions!

The Malbec I purchased here was exceptional. The gentleman who helped me truly knows how to pick wine out in your purchasing price range. ** Had dinner next door at SooRa and was walking back to my car when I glanced into huge plate glass windows and a cavernous room filled with wine racks. Went in and talked to the the owner (a rather hot guy with silver hair) and he recommended two red wines in my price range. Both sit in my wine cabinet now. We shall see upon tasting them if his recommendations were sound.

My go-to wine/beer/cheese place in Northampton! They have a good selection of wines, beers, sour beers, cheese bar, and other artisanal foods. The employees are almost always super friendly and helpful when you ask for recommendations within a price range. However, I did have an annoying encounter last time I was there with the girl behind the cheese counter. She ignored me while I patiently waited and tried to help everyone except me. Luckily, the person who was behind me told her that I had been waiting. Then, while she was helping me she was pretty snobby and condescending about the types of cheeses that I didn't know. Either way, that experience was very unusual as the people there are usually great. It wouldn't stop me from going again. But, I hope I don't have to interact with her again.

We were trying to find a place for lunch but the Chief of Staff was lured in by their attractive wine dsiplay.

The Chief of Staff couldn't pass this store up, I'm glad we went in. The staff is very helpful, she had them chill a rose for her while we went to lunch, on the way back to the hotel we picked up her wine and I got a delicious ice cider which disappeared too quickly. An excellent selection of wine, beer, and related products, from mid-range to oh-my-gosh-that's-a-lot-of-money pricing, displayed in a very convenient and logical manner. Good for browsing or finding what you know you want quickly. I got a souvenir bottle to bring back home, and the fellow checking me out packed it so well it survived O'Hare baggage handling.

Housed in a beautifully preserved historic building, the café embraces its 19th-century roots with original wood floors, vintage furnishings, and the timeless charm of an old-fashioned soda fountain. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingles effortlessly with rich chocolate, creating an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and savor the moment before you've even placed an order. Watching my European-style dark sipping chocolate being prepared was a performance in itself. Every movement behind the counter reflected care and craftsmanship rather than routine. Paired with a warm brownie, the experience promised indulgence and exceeded every expectation. Crowned with a swirl of whipped cream, the sipping chocolate was impossibly smooth, velvety, and intensely rich without being overpowering. The first sip was so luxurious that the bustle of the café seemed to disappear, leaving nothing but the warmth of the cup and the deep, complex flavors of expertly crafted chocolate. The brownie followed with its own quiet perfection; warm, chewy, and deeply fudgy, delivering a decadent companion to an already unforgettable drink. Ana Bandiera Chocolates is more than a café; it's a destination for anyone who appreciates the artistry of fine chocolate. Sourcing cacao from across the Southern Hemisphere while honoring a tradition that stretches back to the ancient Aztecs, the shop transforms a simple afternoon treat into an experience worth lingering over. Northampton is fortunate to have a place of this caliber. It is a hidden gem that proves world-class craftsmanship can thrive far from the bustle of a major city.

Disappointed After Hearing So Many Great Things…read more I really wanted to love this place. As someone who works nearby, I've had countless customers recommend Ana Bandera's to me. People would constantly tell me how amazing it was and that I had to try it. After hearing so many positive reviews, I finally decided to stop in for a vanilla chai latte. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing like what I had heard. When I walked in, there were only about three customers inside. Right before me, another customer came in and was greeted with smiles, laughter, and friendly conversation. When it was my turn, the atmosphere completely changed. There was no greeting, no conversation, and honestly, I didn't feel welcome. The interaction felt cold, as if I was inconveniencing the staff just by placing my order. Since it was my first visit, I wasn't familiar with how everything worked. When my drink was ready, the employee simply placed it on top of the pastry case, said, "Have a good day," turned around, and walked away. There was no explanation, no smile, and no attempt to make a first time customer feel appreciated. I stood there for a moment in disbelief because I truly thought that couldn't be the entire customer service experience. I still left a tip because I believe in supporting people who work in customer service, and I hoped maybe it would brighten someone's day. But I walked out feeling disappointed, especially since it was raining and I had gone out of my way to finally visit a place that had been so highly recommended. Unfortunately, the drink itself didn't make up for the experience. The vanilla chai latte tasted overwhelmingly like straight chai. I couldn't taste any vanilla, it wasn't sweet at all, and it honestly wasn't enjoyable. To make matters worse, the drink was served in a to-go cup without being sealed, and it spilled all over my car on the drive back to work since it was filled to the top. When I arrived at work, I looked at the cup and honestly thought it looked like something I could have made at home and poured into a plastic cup. After such a disappointing visit, I decided to read some of the lower-rated reviews, and I noticed someone else had mentioned receiving an unsealed to-go drink that spilled as well (2reviews confirming this is not the first time) Knowing that another customer had experienced the same issue made it seem like this wasn't just a one time mistake. From the negative comments I read seems also the staff with attitude is a regular thing. I'm usually someone who believes every business deserves a second chance. I've had disappointing experiences elsewhere before, and if a business makes an effort to correct things, I'm more than happy to return. Sadly, this visit left such a poor impression that I don't see myself coming back. Customer service is just as important as the product you're serving, especially when you're welcoming someone for the very first time. I truly hope this was simply an off day, because based on the recommendations I received, I expected a much warmer experience. I genuinely wanted to become a regular customer. Instead, I left feeling unwelcome and disappointed. Would not be coming back and will be sharing my experiences with my customers.
