Very professional, listened to what we wanted, then took us to three wineries that were fantastic. Each winery had its own unique character and the wines were spot on, as well the spirits in the last one we went to. Donovan's van was very clean, well air conditioned, and had all the amenities needed to go from one winery to the next. He's very knowledgeable of the area, well prepared, and an all around fun and great guy. He picked us up at our hotel at Marriott Courtyard Poughkeepsie and after the tour dropped us off at the Beacon Train station it really worked out very well. Had a great time celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday with the Spa City Brew Bus.  We visited 3…read morewineries and a distillery around Saratoga.  The bus was spotless, driving was great (thanks, Bruce!), music was great.  Hoj is a super host.  He's very knowledgeable about the process of making wine, beer and spirits, so he is able to create relationships with local producers.  That enabled us, for example, to get a private vineyard tour with the vintner.  The vintner took us on a field tour while we drank the wine from the grapes we were looking at up close in the field.  Thankfully, none of the vineyards were pretentious.  Everything (and everyone) was very down-to-earth which let everyone focus on what they liked rather than what they were *supposed* to like. I've never been on a vineyard tour bus before, but I would totally do it again.

I've never had anything like the May Wine. I totally get how folks could love the cinnamon nutmeg sweet flavors. The outdoor area is a great place to hangout and enjoy wine. They have picnics tables, adirondac chairs and a covered area. While we got into the relaxed backyard feel there was a girl and guitar duo who lent a warm summery afternoon feel to the vibe. Warner mansion followed by wine tasting and charcuterie. Everyone was so welcoming. Lunch was provided at Mimis coffeehouse of Harwick, the site of a historic post office with indoor/outdoor seating. The sandwiches were freshly made and delicious. There was a small farmers market on the common and the Hardwick Historical Museum was just across the way. Check out the cemetery and note how old the stones are, 1600's! Next stop was Clover Hill Farm, a family-run organic beef farm (6 generations) with owner meet-and-greet. You could purchase their meat in the farm store. We had a "bonus" stop at the Prouty family's cranberry bog where we got to witness dry harvesting of the cranberries. This is all whilst meandering in the beautiful Fall foliage of central MA. We even went over a covered bridge. I cannot wait to try some of the other tour options.

For our first stop, we sampled wine and cheese at Hardwick winery while also being welcomed and lead through the historic main house by the owner himself. After a quaint lunch in Hardwick center (a cafe in the post office!), the farmer of Round Table Farm's creamery gave us an educational walkthrough of the facility and "caves". We sample their cheese products and met the cute goats. The trip was well arranged, nicely paced, and filled with knowledge along the way. Scarlett has a passion for her region that she was eager to share with pep and appreciation. Bernie was a pure gentleman and a smooth driver when the roads occasionally became windy or bumpy. Both were sincere and charming in their roles on the tour. Not only would I recommend taking a trip, I'm 1000% going on more. What a great day they made for us!!
