Stuffed French toast was one small, burnt piece of toast engulfed in mashed raspberries and 1 strawberry and 5 blueberries- guess they loaded on the liquid to try and cover the burnt bread. Asked for another plate so I could remove some of the goo- had to ask 3 times before the plate arrived. We were 4 adults and two very young children but we were a party of 6 so 20% tip automatically added. That was fine but the server said to "feel free to add to the tip". Yummy food! Amazing views and awesome staff! They don't take reservations, so I do recommend going earlier than you expect to eat to put your name on the list because they do fill up quickly, especially during the weekends. just had breakfast at the high low restaurant in Oceanside. to start with we were seated on the patio which had tall plants and it blocked out the ocean view so no view at all! next we ordered and when the food came it was the smallest portions you have ever seen! on child's menu you get 1 yes 1 pancake nothing else for $7 the food was ok nothing special the waffle looked to be the frozen kind very thin. anyways we had a party of 7 (3 children & 4 adults) when we left we were still very hungry. so my advice is if you are hungry not the place to go at least for breakfast. after leaving we went up the street and except for 1 person got a croissant donut each service was good so my advice don't expect a view or a filling breakfast. And I called and talked to the manager and she really didnt seem to care. But that's ok we won't be back. TERRIBLE service. Didn't even get to try the food. Don't believe the "open from sunrise to sunset" line on their signage. I walked in at 6:40 PM. I saw a server and asked if I could sit by the sidewalk. I then asked about a menu. She said they already closed the kitchen and just had drinks. I sat down and she brought a drink menu. Just that moment, another server brought several plates to the family two tables over. I looked at the server and asked, "you said the kitchen is closed?" She loudly said, "YES! The line was so long and we figured it must be good so we decided to try again the week after. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted to make sure we can seat a large party promptly but they couldn't take reservations. Nevertheless their customer service was great! They replied to my email quickly. They really tried their best to accommodate us even when there was a drag brunch that day. And the food didn't disappoint either. Cardiff crack hash was my fave!!! The service was awesome. We came on Father's Day and it was a long wait... we walked the pier and by the time we headed back we were seated.... Unfortunately the outdoor seating available has absolutely no shade cover at all. At first we tried to tough it out.... But with a baby and a 5 year old... after 20 minutes we were dying. We asked our server if there was anyway we could move inside and within 2 minutes she found us a spot. Now, as far as the drinks and food went... total disappointment. I ordered the strawberry daiquiri and not only did it basically come in a shot glass, it was also very unpleasant, if I had known it was a sip I definitely wouldn't have ordered it for the price they were charging. Now I was super excited that they had offered vegan options so I picked the quesadilla and a side pancake. I loved how the quesadilla didn't have any fake cheese and opted to do avocado instead...however once again I was disappointed. With ingredients like soyrizo, avocado and beans, it should've been amazing, but it was so bland and flavorless even the salsa that came with had no flavor. A major let down. The 2 stars is from the hostess up in the front 4/8 and 10:40a. First of all, there was a wait for parties to be seated, no problem. We were the second party to be seated, my husband and toddler. She seated the first couple once she asked indoor or outdoor and if shade or no shade was preferred. Then it was our turn. Mind you, for a Friday, there was not a lot of people yet, so there was definitely seating indoor and outdoor. I know because I'm staring at empty tables indoor and outdoor. Once it was our turn, she looked around, and dare to tell us waiting time is 20-30 minute so we'll need to come back. No questions asked about our preferences just looked around to let us know there will be a wait, even if plenty of tables open, indoor and outdoor. NO ONE was asked to come back, not the people before or after us. I can see all around, especially inside of the available seating. She did not even ask to see if we preferred indoor or outdoor, which I didn't have a preference as long as it's slightly shaded, just wanted to be seated. When she got our information, she somehow had a changed of heart because she said there's a seat inside now if we would be seated there, to which we said it's fine. From our seat, I can see the hostess table every party after us was seated right away, no one walked away. The whole experience at the front would have made anyone lash out, or even leave. My fiancé and I are a young, colored couple and we see the good in people, that is why we stayed and looked past her nonchalant racist act. This doesn't happen often, but people like her should not be front face of your business. She is the initial contact at your restaurant. This is a beautiful location and prime for young and older people, so maybe take inconsideration who is in front to represent your business. Probably will not come back. Thanks though. read more

It was said that she(server) went to lunch but we were never notified and sat around waiting for a bit wondering when we were going to get our check. Juan I believe was our server who took over after the guy who originally introduced himself bailed and then never came back, so to Juan, thanks for trying to save a burning ship. I hope you did get all of the tip we left because you earned it. The food was decent, a little overpriced in my opinion, service horrible, communication horrible. I have never waited so long to be helped. We showed up on a Sunday around 2 pm and didn't eat or get food for like at least a hour, hour and 15 minutes. We were sat right away with no mention of hey the kitchen is backed up or any inkling that it could be awhile. We were finally given a menu after about 15 minutes from our original sever, who like I said above bailed for whatever reason. After about another 15 minutes of waiting he took our order, then came back and told us that they ran out of food (waffles my husband ordered) but wasn't sure what else they had or didn't have so my husband ordered something else with fingers crossed *they might have it*. We finally got it and it was decent but nothing worth the horrific customer experience We had both had prior to getting our food. There are other small details I'm leaving out but at the end of the day, we will not be returning and I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone. In fact, we had friends who wanted to come meet us for drinks and we cancelled plans instead of subjecting them to the travesty this place offered up. I hate writing bad reviews. Like truly hate it. I want more than anything for new spots to succeed and if the flounder to pull it back up but the first server we was was legit awful and I used to host, bartend and serve so I know what the job is back of the house and this guy was honestly not great. Juan did his very best to redeem it and for that I am grateful but you can only do so much once the ship has been tanked by horrible service and zero accountability prior. Best of like high low. The location is great and we were seated quickly for a Friday lunch. Service was extremely slow. We ordered the crispy cauliflower which was not crispy and the dipping sauce was just mayo. I got the clam chowder. It needed more salt and pepper. The clams were still in the shell and there were big hunks of bacon. Overall it was more like a bacon cream soup with no sea food flavor. The grilled cheese and tomato soup were ok. The grilled cheese had the thinnest slice of cheese. The soup was flavorful but barely warm. The margaritas were watered down and did not taste like strawberry like the description stated. The Bloody Mary was very spicy and did not have good flavor.
