Cappuccino, hot latte, iced latte
Mrs L.

Whoa! Second time here and again what a beautiful meal. Seated facing the ocean outside on the patio was amazing! Staff is upbeat and adorable. We went for the basic breakfast of the scrambled eggs with maple sausage and thin waffles- I added spinach to my eggs-- fantastic! Husband got the Rancheros egg plate- whoa, the crispy tortilla and smooth beans are delicious with all the ingredients. We had coffee drinks too- cappuccino and lattes. Perfecto. I left relaxed and happy. Coming back tomorrow for baked goods and another cappuccino. ;)

We added our name to the list... it was a busy morning..... they said 25 minutes... our table was ready in 10.... Jacob was our server.... He was very patient with all of us female's.... all wanting this and that... Jacob was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the area... we kept him hopping and he did a great job of keeping up... They're pretty strict with breakfast and lunch menu times... We all ordered different kinds of food... I haven't been disappointed yet... We parked in the parking structure... a few blocks from the beach...

The image shows several pieces of fried chicken with a golden-brown, crispy coating on a plate. Some potato wedges are visible nearby, and crumbs are scattered around. The focus is on the fried chicken, highlighting its texture and color, with a casual dining presentation.
Soyoun P.

The overall experience was disappointing due to a clear lack of quality control and execution. The fried chicken tenders were unusually dark (overcooking or poor oil management). The flavor and texture reflected that as well. The Hawaiian kimchi fried rice (?)wasn't actually fried. The kimchi tasted raw and barely warmed, mixed into hot rice without proper cooking. It felt unfinished and difficult to eat--I only had a couple of bites before stopping. What made this more concerning was noticing that another table also left more than half of their fried rice untouched, suggesting this wasn't an isolated issue. Overall, the food felt overthought yet under-executed. Some dishes lacked a clear identity and came across as confused rather than intentional. If the kitchen isn't confident in executing certain dishes, it would be better to remove them from the menu entirely. Restaurants should serve food that guests can reasonably enjoy and finish. Creativity is welcome, but it needs to be supported by clarity, consistency, and proper execution--unfortunately, that balance was missing here.

Spicy BLT - A breakfast plate includes a sandwich with toasted bread, bacon, pickles, and a fried egg with a runny yolk. The plate also has a fried egg with a runny yolk and some chopped chives. In the background, there is a glass of water and a metal cup, with a wooden table surface underneath.

High/ low is a solid brunch spot with spectacular views. I've tried a few things on the menu, but the spicy BLT is my favorite. I love coming here and sitting outside on nice days. Service is a bit slow, but other than that it's great!

Decent joint. Service was fantastic. I had the Hash (was not what I was used to, but was decent), and my wife had a pancakes and sausage. I thought her sausage was delish. We both enjoyed a couple cocktails. Not bad. Love that they are dog friendly. Overall was an average experience. Nothing really "Wowed" us.

Vanilla latte - A clear plastic cup filled with iced coffee and ice cubes is positioned on a balcony railing. The background features a view of a sandy beach, palm trees, and the ocean with gentle waves under a blue sky. The scene suggests a coastal location with a relaxed atmosphere.

This place was great! The location and setting is perfect being right across the beach. The vanilla latte was good. I also got the breakfast burrito (I ate it before any pictures) and it was great! The service was friendly and had good recommendations.

Great breakfast location near the ocean. Make reservations to avoid long wait. You can enjoy a latte while you wait which is delicious. Spent Christmas morning here studying enjoying my coffee which was refreshing. The location is right accross the pier and decor is hip concrete modern inside and oceaside beach wood outside. The staff is always welcoming and very attentive. Would recommend this place.

Outside patio - The image shows an outdoor patio with several wooden tables and chairs, some shaded by large umbrellas. There are a few people seated, working on laptops or conversing. The patio is next to a modern white building with large glass windows and a sign that reads 'NIGHT LOW.' Surrounding the patio are plants and trees, creating a garden-like atmosphere. The setting appears to be a cafe or restaurant offering outdoor seating.

Had a lovely lunch here at High/Low. They have a great outside patio which has nice ocean views from across the street.. The menu has a variation of offerings leaning towards brunch/lunch. I had the grilled cheese & tomato soup & my friend had a yummy egg scramble dish. Friendly & attentive servers. Good spot to bring out of towners

Rockfish Ceviche

I've been coming to high/low since it's opening around 5 years ago. The food (classic Southern California/American fare) is consistently delicious. The cocktails are fresh and inventive. When I am wanting a coffee + pastry and a walk on the beach, I love to get an Americano and their almond croissant and stroll the pier. When I want to grab lunch with a friend or bring a guest from out of town to a restaurant with an ocean view, high/low is at the top of my list! I came today with a friend and we enjoyed lunch. She had the rockfish ceviche and I had the chicken and avocado sando. And we both chose a little sparkling wine to go with. The sando was great, with the bread being perfectly buttered and lightly toasted. I was grateful to the server for the suggestion of swapping out the coleslaw for sweet potato fries. My friend said the ceviche, which is served with plantain chips was so good, she ended up scooping up the juice with a spoon! Recieved excellent service- chill, knowledgable about the menu and friendly. The price for a sit down meal is somewhat expensive, but worth it. Will happily pay for scrumptious food and an oceanfront view. High/Low is located in front of and attached to the Mission Pacific Hotel. Parking can be a challenge, but there is a Pay lot nearby and metered street parking. Looking forward to going back soon!

The image shows a wooden outdoor table with drinks, including a coffee mug, a glass of water, a mason jar with water, and a coffee cup. In the background, there are palm trees, a leafless tree, and a setting sun in a partly cloudy sky, suggesting a warm, coastal location during late afternoon or early evening.

Berry Crunch French Toast, same thing. Our friends ate the Stratford Scramble and it was just 3/5 as well. PRICE - considering the food is nothing special, I wondered why we are paying a higher price for it. Definitely overpriced unless you really care about eating at the harbor, looking at the water through some dirty glass. SERVICE - their current set up is to take your order, take your money, and give you a number. That would fine and dandy except that the girl who was taking orders ALSO had to play bartender. The line seems to be so long and take forever because she'll take your order, then spend 5 minutes making drinks or doing something else before taking the next person's order. Maybe this is their way to handle the traffic because tables are full and maybe they are down staff members. Either way, I was disappointed at the speed/organization. HEALTH CODE VIOLATION - the cherry on top to all of this happened since I had so much time in line to observe. The girl taking orders would take an order, process payment by touching the POS system, then scoop ice into a glass for the drink she was making (this time was a Bloody Mary), handle bottles of alcohol, and FINALLY, touch the bacon and garnishes for the Bloody Mary all without washing her hands. No doubt there have been many hands that have touched all of those things and contaminated them, all for her to touch food at the end without washing her hands. The POS system is also about 10 feet away from the bathroom so all of this adds up to something that seems risky and needs to be fixed.

What shined was his care and attention to detail, especially when it came to accommodating my allergies. He made a point to ask questions before taking action, ensuring that everything was handled safely and thoughtfully. I appreciated how realistic and transparent he was about what could and couldn't be modified, which helped build trust and made me feel more at ease navigating the menu. His professionalism and awareness were evident throughout. Drea also made a strong impression with her calm and reassuring presence. She approached everything with a sense of patience and understanding, and I felt genuinely understood and validated in my requests and concerns. Her demeanor helped create a relaxed environment, which is especially meaningful when dealing with dietary needs. She balanced efficiency with empathy in a way that felt very natural. As for the food and drinks, my friend really enjoyed the Buccaneer smoothie and even went back for a second cup of drip coffee, which they said was smooth and satisfying. I had an avocado, egg, and tortilla burrito, and I especially liked the house brown sugar coffee, which had a rich, slightly sweet flavor that came through as a highlight for me. Overall, while navigating modifications can sometimes be challenging, the staff made the experience feel manageable and supportive. Nope, the employees were just talking to each other and starting to close down...and apparently forgot about us. Some of our party started to leave because it was way too long to wait.
