Very very friendly service and welcoming for puppers, too (outdoor seating on the front porch). Sangria was not too sweet and refreshing. The smoked fried chicken was pretty tasty. I like dark meat and these thighs were moist and had a ton of flavor. The fried pork tenderloin was ok but the chicken was better. For sides, definitely get the excellent green beans and mashed potatoes. The glazed carrots were too sweet for me, but if you like them that way, go for it. I found the squash casserole pretty dull. I would certainly return. It's a solid meal and it's a lot of food for the money. Very good value. read more

Rustic decor but food was great. Had the Panko crusted white fish with a shrimp and crawfish sauce. The sauce was wonderful and they offer it on steaks also. read more

tried this place due to rating in Yelp. The bldg itself was cute and staff was friendly. Our waiter was very nice. However the food was a disappointment. my husband ordered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and i had the chicken salad. We waited quite a while to get the food and then my husband's food was cold. The beans were undercooked as well. My chicken salad was good- small scoop served with ritz and side of fruit salad. Not exactly what expected but tasted good. Sorry but would go here again if in area or recommend it. Oh and they also have dining out on large porch area. read more

We went to the Paris Quilt Show on 05/10/24. Had a wonderful time and wanted to try a new place for lunch. The High Cotton Kitchen did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, it exceeded our expectations. The decor was like walking into Grandma's house (in the best way). The food was delicious. We both started with a salad. Everything was fresh and tasty. Hubby ordered chicken fried steak and loaded mashed potatoes. Wow!! He said this CFS was one of the best he's ever had. The potatoes were rustic and flavorful. I ordered the Monterey chicken with mashed potatoes. It was smothered in cheese, bacon and bbq sauce. Each bite was a delight. Their sweet tea was perfect. We were too full for dessert unfortunately. Next time we're in the area, we'll stop by for coffee and dessert. Our waitress, Stephanie, was friendly and attentive. We couldn't ask for anything more. read more

AMAZING!!! I highly recommend the smoked fried chicken. OFF-DA HOOK! Great service, wonderful food and I highly recommend this place High Cotton! Wish we had one in San Diego read more

Let me start off by saying I'm new to the Paris area and have tried a couple spots but this was my first time having food from High Cotton Kitchen (ordered through DoorDash). I ordered the Southern Catch Basket which comes with 2 pieces of fried fish, a side and 2 hush puppies. I also ordered an additional 6 hush puppies since I'd didn't know it came with my Southern Catch Basket. The fish was nice and crispy with a soft and moist inside without any fishy smell. The green beans cooked in bacon was amazing. It added the lightness, savory but with a hint of sweetness to the dish which kept me coming back for more bites. The hush puppies were crispy on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside. As you can tell from the pictures I uploaded, I ate everything lol. Tartar sauce was forgotten in my order but it was still absolutely the best dish I've had in Paris, TX. I plan on visiting in person the next chance I get cause if it was this good through DoorDash I can't wait to find out what the food tastes like fresh from their kitchen. read more

You're in High Cotton indeed when you eat at the High Cotton Kitchen. The owners comes by and checks on every table, or he did when we were there. Really, a lovely staff. The menu is chock full of southern staples. I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans, which are my test food, were excellent, well-seasoned, and bacon forward. The jalapeño cream gravy had just a touch of heat and was wonderful. The chicken fried chicken was among some of the best I've ever had. Really. So good! As far as deserts, I would not look any farther than the Buttered Pecan Bread Pudding. It was so good we took another for the road. In summary, you won't be sorry you went. read more

Ordered the chicken fried chicken,, it was so salty i thought i was eating seawater. Service was amazing!!

Nothing special. Food is Okay, service is okay too, but we don't plan on returning anytime soon. Lots of tables- somewhat crowded. Waiter seemed not to be the brightest bulb, but there's not a lot of selection in this town. read more

Absolutely delicious steak. Sorry, it was so delicious when I smelled it, I idid not stop to take a photo before eating. They are sending out tasty scented clouds outside the restaurant so that when you go inside, you are practically salivating on the scent. We also had the Southern Style Eggs Benedict..yummy . This is not our first time eating here and it has been wonderfully delicious each time. Definitely would choose here again. Meatloaf is superb, chicken fried steak, marbled steak also a happy belly food. They have an awesome cook So if you are nearby then deast good and the staff/service is great also sorry no pics will do next time. read more

This place is equal parts great food and hospitality. This is the first place we tried here in Paris, and there's no doubt it's going to be a favorite going forward. Everything was delicious, but let me tell you about the pimento bacon cheeseburger. Better yet, you go try it out asap and ask for Payton while you're there. A++ read more

Great stop on our way to Broken Bow. Good food but service was a little slow as help did not show and waitress was tasked with a 40 person party. My catfish was tasty and cooked excellent. Plenty of food. read more

Holy Smokes - we stopped here for lunch because of the 4.5 Star Yelp review. And it was worth it!!!! We ate too much but everything was so good. No matter what else you order make sure you get the Pulled Pork queso and the Cherry Banana Cream pie. Even the little dinner salad with ranch dressing was fresh and good. read more

Best chicken fired chicken I've ever had it was moist and tender in the inside and just the perfect amount of light crisp on the outside side. The loaded mash potatoes melt in your mouth. They give you a huge serving of fried pickles and they are incredibly tasty. Found this place by accident but 10/10 will be back and bring others read more

What's the absolute worst fast food place you've been in....take that particular place and multiply that by 400 and it STILL won't be bad enough! I went for MY LAST TIME yesterday and gave a simple order and with ZERO customers in there you'd think I'd be good right? The owners are off God knows where with their teen daughter and her friends running the insane asylum!! All kitchen and waitstaff in room to immediate right TOTALLY HAVING A GRAND OLE TIME ignoring all customers!! Can NOT get their attention!! Place is BEYOND FILTHY with food pieces on the floors and seats at tables and NO SALT OR KETCHUP to be found!! And the nuts are up playing whatevs!! IT NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN ASAP!! If the food inspectors had been there I'd gladly have watched them shut it DOWN!! Oh and to greet you driving in an ENORMOUS pothole the size of a SEDAN!!! STAY HOME!!! read more

This place should add a " nap room " option because by the time you are done eating all the delicious food you have a serious case of food coma on your hand! The fried pickles are the best I have ever had , read more

One word: YUM!! They've got excellent chicken and biscuits, great prices, speedy service, and it feels like you're dining in a quiet cozy country house. Restaurants this good are few and far-between. It's my second time, and I'll definitely be back a third. And fourth.. and fifth read more

Quiet and wonderful experience. Food was very good and service was great! Really enjoyed the evening.

The food was definitely not worth the wait it took them. Not to mention the fact that they messed up our orders not once but TWICE. The whole hour we were there we never got a drink refill or a check in besides when we had to tell the waitress our food was not correct. Would NOT recommend read more

Got home with three takeout orders. All three were less than a half of serving of everything. Literally a tablespoon of mashed potatoes is outrageous. Paid full price for a less than half dinner. read more

My job takes me all around the USA. I got to eat here with a sweet friend from Paris, and quite frankly...I was blown away. You hear the term: "Comfort Food". This little gem of a restaurant defines what happens when great home style food and customer service are brought together. I had great difficulty deciding what to get. Their take on meatloaf was remarkably good. The mashed potatoes and white gravy were what you would expect from Grandma Lillie's kitchen. The fresh baked dinner rolls were phenomenal as well. The real pleasure, added to the rest, was their banana cherry pie. Only diabetics and pleasantly plump people truly understand the value if a great dessert. Please check out my picture! This pie slid into the top 3 desserts I have had in my life. The young man that waited on us made us feel like we were having a five star dining experience. To prove my point, I am driving 94 miles this afternoon to go for a second visit. If you live in NE Texas...you need to race over there as quickly as possible. The person in the 2006 Charger did! I bet they left feeling perfectly content with a belly full of the best food in town! read more

Great homemade food. I have been there twice when in Paris. Highly recommend try their deserts.

We always enjoy our experience here. The owner and wait staff are always friendly and the food is delicious. We will definitely be back!

I would give this place no stars if I could. I recently went here on 11/11/23 for my oldest son s birthday the food was horrible the gravy was ice cold and tasted like it made with old grease, my husband's chicken fried steak was burned the mashed potatoes were cold and scraped from the bottom of the pan and crusty I could go on and on. Both my late parents were chefs so I know good food !! The manager/owner did take the chicken fried steak off the check but should have refunded the whole meal. This was the second and LAST time we had been here. The first time the food was good and I gave it 5 stars. So sad that it ran down like it did. read more

First visit on Saturday around 10am wasn't good- got seated quickly, but waited for 15 mins with 2 servers passing us, making eye contact but no one stopping to greet us or take a drink order so we walked out Decided to try it again on Sunday around 11:30am- MUCH BETTER! We were again seated quickly, they were busy but we were greeted, drinks ordered and everything else about that visit was wonderful. The food is DELICIOUS Fried pickles to start, chicken fried steak for me and meatloaf for my hubs. Everything tasted awesome and was served hot and fresh Tried the bread pudding desert and it was also fabulous Highly recommend- we'll be going back for sure! read more

I really enjoyed dining here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner came to some tables to welcome the patrons and to say that they are having a soft opening. Also that they are still smoothing some things out. Which is understandable being that it's a small town and their first restaurant. Love the setting of the place, the country feeling and good music. Our waiter it was very knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered the fried pickles, salmon, corn, bread pudding and macaroni and cheese while my husband had the meatloaf, green beans and brown beans. The pickles were very addicting!! The corn was awesome! The bread pudding was great!! My husband really enjoyed his food and will order it again. We are definitely going back!!! read more

Catfish was very good with cole slaw plus red beans & rice with a generous helping of French fries. Also got the bread pudding which is some of the best I've had in a long time for dessert. Wait staff and hostess are very nice and make you feel at home. Very nice building, I bet when it cools off the force porch is the place to be. read more

We stumbled onto this fantastic eatery as we were exploring Paris, TX. We arrived at the tail end of their Sunday dinner hours (it was almost 3:00 when we walked in), so we kept our order to dessert only. We ordered the Buttered Pecan Bread Pudding. The pecans had a slight salt coating and it was the perfect savory crunch to go with the sweet. The texture of the pudding was tender and moist, but not overly eggy. It ranks up there with a bread pudding we had in New Orleans. Loved it! We will make this our main food stop next time we are in town. read more

Very impressed with the food and service. Our family of 5 stopped in our way through town due to the reviews. Service was very polite and quick. Started the night with jalapeno soup and queso. Large portions of each. Then we had the chicken fried steak with jalapeno gravy, pulled pork sandwich, fried fish, the bubbas burger and the kids grilled cheese. Everything was delicious! Then dessert was a huge hit. Chocolate cake, strawberry cake and definitely recommend the bread pudding!!! We would 100% stop in again if driving through town. read more
