Ate there last night ordered 2 small steaks. They were gray when they hit the grill. My friend said it is probably the lighting. They were delivered to our table. I cut and smelled my steak it smelled rancid. My friend cut a piece of hers and ate it. She spit it our in a napkin and said it tasted worse that it smelled. The cook had to know the meat was rancid. Someone could get deathly sick. This restaurant has so much potential. So sad they don't take pride in their food. Our waitress was lovely. read more

My experience was a 5 star for many reasons and for what it is that I don't get from other restaurants. First off the food was fresh and definitely homemade. It's definitely not the 5 star Drover Hotel Steak House at the Stockyards or anything like that however they had a better square meal than you could get for $40-50.00 anywhere else. The meatloaf was so good and the sides. Amazing to get strawberry shortcake at a buffet as a desert. I went there to eat 4 times out of 3 days. Great old school low prices as well. The waitresses have an excellent feel of the customers like no other. Very old fashion Southern food place if you're up to it. You know you're in the right place when you see a lot of retired people eating there. Ambience is basic and old fashion. An experience on its own and not to compare to a new school restaurant and building just straight old school and old fashion Texas. A lost Gem that's hard to find these days. read more

Went solely because we had a free buffet and thought we'd try it out. Even with the free meal and two of us eating for $13 it still wasn't a bargain. The ONLY thing decent on the bar was the fried chicken. That's it. Everything else was either too cold or just plain terrible. It's not hard to make pasta. It was a mushy pasty mess bc it was so overcooked. Pizza had a metallic taste to the sauce. Those are just the BeST parts! I will save the best for last. The bathrooms. I tried two stalls-both latches were broken. Walls full of holes. Absolutely filthy. And the smell, think teen boys locker room before they learned how to make it in the urinal. Absolutely not a one time oops-this is at minimum a months long issue of not cleaning appropriately. Now the best best part. As we walked in, the "hostess" was trying to take the order for the person in front of us. She had to stop to cough up phlegm several times without bothering to cover her freaking mouth. As they walked off, she stopped to WIPE HER NOSE ON HER SLEEVE AND COUGH AT US before she said be right back-she didn't know how to ring up the coupon. Several minutes later a manager(presumably) comes out and takes her place to ring us up. We mentioned "hey your hostess is hacking all over people and the stack of silverware-might want to send her home. She says oh sorry about that. Then the girl comes out and lays across the counter-can't make this stuff up, as the manager says "you ok?" She mumbles incoherently so NOW her job is to handle all the silverware with the same hand she's been coughing into part of the time and wiping her nose without the use of a tissue. We didn't notice that until we were seated. Meanwhile another employee sneaks out front and hides in the corner to take a call and vape not knowing everyone inside can see her trying to huddle there. As we sat and ate for a few minutes we hear the coughing start all over again on the other side. We were so aggravated by this point that they didn't care enough about their customers health to send her home we just got up and left. In short, you want to get Covid or whatever else she had going on-go to the Paris Texas sirloin stockade, but if you want to eat something decent at a place that didn't use toilet paper to mop up the bathroom floor-you might wanna head elsewhere. What an absolute shitshow of lunch. Do better or at least offer free covid testing as you exit the premises. read more

This buffet should be named SALT CITY! There are salt shakers on the tables, but the decision about how much salt should be put on the food has already been made by management. The food is SO salty it has a "bite" to it. I wish a waitress would bring me a bowl of water so that I could try to wash some (or all) of the salt off of the food. Sometimes I just have to spit the super salty food out in a paper napkin. My doctor says added salt is very bad for my health. When I was a child, I used to wade in a nearby creek and come home with leaches on my ankles. My Dad would sprinkle salt on the leaches, and then they would shrivel up and fall off just a few minutes later. I hate to think of that happening to my stomach lining when I eat at SALT CITY. read more

Service was good as usual but this time around the food was terrible. Like really bad. We went on a Saturday and they had some brunch thing going on for 15.99$ and it was absolutely gross. I edited my review because the last one I messed up on. We hit the Sunday Brunch. Despite being busy as hell, they did a fantastic job keeping up with demand. This was our first brunch, and it won't be our last. What made it all that much better was our waitress Donna. Always pleasant and, despite her section being swamped, still gave personal service. Sirloin is a favorite of mine. Today proves why. read more

Sorry Sirloin Stockade, but you really didn't perform well today. I've been to this location before, which was a decent enough experience to get me back, but for this time, the food was poor. The salad was a little funky, the fried chicken wasn't very crisp, and the meatloaf was a little weird tasting and burnt around the sides. Buffet that used to be a steakhouse, hence the name. I was visiting the city on a business excursion in a group of 56 and the restaurant accommodated us with ease. There was a wide selection of the typical buffet foods ranging from fresh cut fruits, complete salad bar, meat station, Mexican food, barbecue, baked potato station and bakery station. I opted for the salad bar which was fresh and untouched, and a few select pices of protein, then raided the soft serve iceconcoction. Most in the group raved about the food, me on the other hand took it for what it was, a reason to gouge yourself with unlimited plates of carbohydrates of mediocre food. Like any buffet restaurant, with the high traffic, don't look at the cleanliness of the dining room. But, if you are in Paris, TX, on a business trip with 56 of your closest co-workers, you may want to opt for this buffet that used to be a steakhouse. Oh, by the way, there is no steak. read more

Ok, it's a buffet ... with whatever compromises that entails. Other reviews noted various problems with food or cleanliness. Maybe it has improved or the experience depends on time of day. I have been quite satisfied with the food, cleanliness, and the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff over ~eight visits there in the past year. I think that they actually do have steak occasionally - not sure what the schedule and frequency is ; steak strips were available last time I was there. They also serve breakfast which affords the opportunity for omelettes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and many other hot and cold items. Pretty good in my opinion. They have a glassed off meeting room if you have need for a meeting or party. I believe that you can get a nice discount if you are a senior (60+), military, or public safety service member which makes a meal there more economical than most fast food restaurants. read more

I had a lot of high hopes when this restaurant was mentioned to me by family members. Despite finding out that it was a buffet, I was still excited to give Sirloin Stockade a try. As soon as you walk into Sirloin Stockade you will automatically be reminded of Golden Corral. I mean, it seems like the same concept and setup. The lady who rang up our orders was very nice and from there we found a table and the cattle call began. To my surprise, the quality of food is is really terrible which is a shock considering that they have access to fabulous fresh produce and meat in this region. I was also very saddened to see that the vegetables were obviously from cans or from a processing company. They were all overcooked, lacked flavor and even worse, the fruit that was available was a mixture of canned fruit and fresh fruit. The options on the salad bar seemed rather dated (items were fresh, but the options were not modern at all) and honestly came off as unappetizing. Speaking of unappetizing, the entree options were nothing to write home about. Again, all of the food was super bland and those that were not were extremely salty. Also, if you are looking for healthy options, you will be out of luck for the most part here. They are seriously in love with carbs. Also, the combinations they offered together just made no sense. I was also very disappointed in the look of the meatloaf- completely dry, and my steak was not only unseasoned (like completely nothing), but was not properly cooked. I asked for a rare steak. Some parts were rare but the other parts varied from medium to medium-well. By the time I was ready for dessert, I could not bring myself to eat any of the unappetizing looking options. Everything looked like it was from a box or was just so slapped on the plate or had canned fruit that there was no way I would touch that with a ten food pole. I will say the highlight for Sirloin Stockade is that they do have sweet waitstaff. My waitress was a doll and again, so was the lady checking us in. The people cooking was another situation all together. They were super grumpy. I really wanted to like this place, but I can get much better for $10. read more

I was in Paris, Texas about 10 years ago and ate at this buffet with about 50 people, after we had attended a funeral of a dear friend.. Now , after all these years,, could not remember where this restaurant was.. At that time,, the restaurant was great,, and have been trying to remember where this place was at.. Now I have moved to Roxton last month,, and will go check this place out again,, after finally finding it again.. Back 10 years ago,, I would give it a 5 star rating ... My experience at this was the absolute WORSE experience that I have ever had in my life at a restaurant. If you want to eat somewhere that you have to be concerned that the staff will steal your phone, and then you will blamed by the owner, then this is your place. We had a nice dinner, but when we went to leave my husband accidentally left his phone on the table. He realized this immediately, as we rounded the corner and I went on to the truck. I could clearly see our table from the window and the waitress was already clearing our table. She abruptly left when she saw my husband and immediately went to the bathroom without finishing the table (her words, not mine). She proceeded to stay in the bathroom in the 3rd stall for at least 10 minutes and then went out the back door to take a "smoke break". We went outside and contacted the police and there was a time that we waited outside. A family that had been sitting in the same section, but across the room approached us to see if we needed help. The wife said that she had also noticed that nobody else was around our table except the waitress and that she saw her go to both the bathroom and out to smoke, and was gone for at least 20 minutes to the point they had to refill their own drinks. My husband (and I think her husband) went around back and looked around and my husband found his phone under the bucket where they put out their cigarettes. The wife and I went into the bathroom to look through trashcans, and she found my husband's phone case in the tank of the same stall the waitress spent so much time in. So she was the only person at my table, went to the exact stall of the case, and my phone was where she went to smoke..... All places I hadn't been. She refused to apologize, so the police had us file charges and we are waiting to hear if the D. A. will pick it up and serve her. Fast forward to today and my issue with the owner. I called him to see if was terminated and he was very defensive and rude. He said that she was keeping her job because he has money stolen from him all the time and he can't just fire all of his employees. I tried to tell him what happened only to be told that the phone was just found outside and it was my word against hers . Why in the world would I steal my own phone and plant two parts of it in two places I had not been? And I am pretty sure my husband didn't go into the girl's bathroom. I tried to tell him about the toilet and he said he didn't know anything about that, but he clearly didn't care. He also said that he had to leave his house and come up there to deal with this (in an annoyed way), and my response to that is that it his job. I was deeply inconvenienced that I spent over 2 hours there because his employee is a thief. I also told him that I thought it was rude that he was there and he never once came outside to apologize. If it was my business I would be turning flips to make sure the customer was happy, but he obviously could care less. I get it if it is a legal issue that he cannot fire her because she could then file unemployment, but his whole attitude made me angrier than the deceitful employee that he so adamantly backed up. If he would have approached the conversation differently I would not be so shocked and appalled by my experience with this restaurant. For this reason, I would strongly recommend eating somewhere else where you receive a heartfelt apology after you get your phone back in two parts.... One in a toilet and the other by a stinky dumpster under a nasty smoke bucket. read more

Had Saturday lunch and Sunday breakfast both were wonderful. Everything we tried was delicious. One of the best made to order omelets I have ever eaten. I am picky and like mine with only one egg and slightly undercooked and it was perfect! Pork chops and made to order pancakes my husband had were great. Also have home style delicious thick cut bacon. Lunch was equally good, especially the meatloaf. All our waitstaff was attentive and courteous. As buffets go, this one is great! read more
