All I can say is ..... do get the chicken fried steak. It is to die for. So yummy. Make sure you tip your waitress week.

Fantastic southern cooking, from a plump and juicy chicken fried chicken to the huge chicken fried steak. Creamy potatoes with a flavorful southern gravy, okra fried to perfection, or start off with those fabulous golden onion rings, you can't go wrong. You can finish your meal with a large selection of yummy goodness. Fruity fried pies, home style brownies, or my favorite, FUNNEL CAKE! The service is terrific and amazingly fast. The place has a throw back atmosphere with letter jackets from all of the area schools through the years. Even an old FFA jacket in there, props for that. A lot of old yearbooks and memorabilia. Wow. This is an itty bitty place that serves up way big delicious food. The chicken fried steak is fork-tender, mashed potatoes have tiny lumps (yum!) and the fried okra was perfect. Nice crust, fresh/not slimy okra. And if we weren't so full we would have had a slice of fried pie also. Those are all homemade and there are a billion (ok - maybe just a dozen) flavors. Next time! I can't understand the reviews. There's no way this is more than a one star at best. Honestly it was the equivalent of a hungry man meal. The server was very sweet. The only part of this experience remotely passable. Definitely much better options next door in Paris. read more

We were passing through town and saw this quaint restaurant. It's typically hit or miss with small town restaurants. This one was a hit. It had that small town feel where people know each other, but they didn't treat us like outsiders. It was welcoming and friendly. Definitely a burger and fries kind of place. They don't chintz on the grease--which to me, is what I expected. It wasn't gross greasy, just what you'd expect from a burger and fries. The kids picked a variety from the kids menu, and they all cleaned their plates. You pay at the counter at the end of your meal, which was a little different, but it worked. read more

I have eaten at Wheezys many times. I have never had a bad meal, just good old fashion cooked food like my mother made growing up. The feel of the place is awesome, lots of very cool pictures, jerseys, streamers and more from Texas and the local area. Everyone is super nice and the service is generally outstanding. Foods not greasy like you get some places. Tables are covered in local business advertisements. Overall this is a cool place to eat at any day ending in Y! Except Sunday... that ruined my joke. Well. The reviews led us Here, but the food sent us packing. While the service was worth the 5 stars. This review is what consumes the rating. The service was wonderful and friendly. The food however was cafeteria quality at best, and not in a good way. I had the Texas baked potato. And let me tell you. The minced meat left the from a tin can aftertaste that'll sit in your mouth for the long run. My lovely wife had the chicken fried steak. While she claims it was OK, that's what'll stick on this review. However the mashed potatoes tasted as if the were no mashed potatoes in the ingredients. Prepackaged instant potatoes at best. I honestly can say I was, well, we were utterly disappointed in our first experience in Blossom. I hope this review receives the attention of the proper reviewee.. and makes the proper corrections to make the changes necessary of a revisit. In the meantime the cheap meal was equal to the cheap quality. And we most certainly cannot revisit until then. read more

On our way to the casino and found this place on Yelp. A few minutes out of the way but so worth it!! My husband had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and pinto beans and I had a cheese burger so that we could try both. All was very good!! I like this place since I live in east Yuma. Happy it's there. Service was good. However, there are some things that can be improved. I would situate the tables in a more traffic-friendly way. Either there are too many tables in the bar area, or there is some need for some basic fung shue here. For example: bar patrons need unobstructed access to the restroom. With the way the tables and chairs are set up now, it's a pain meandering your way to the loo. Easy fix, from a managerial standpoint. Also, those Pork on Pork "nachos" are anything but. The bbq'd pork is really good, but you can't call them nachos if you're dumping them over some kettle-fried potato chips. Potato chips as a substitute for quality tortilla chips?! NO BUENO. Maybe you can get away with that up north. Not down here on the border. And NO SALSA?! Gimme a break. Yeah, they throw in some jalapeños and diced tomatos, but please. I was really surprised about the nachos. If they improve, this place will be one of the few go-to places in Yuma. read more

My search for the perfect CFS in Texas has officially come to an end. The "small" was a succulent hand-breaded piece of beef that _had_ to be hand-tenderized prior to its bath in the fryer. I also had the hand-breaded onion rings (SUPERB) and the creamed potatoes that were so good I dragged my onion rings in them. And the Texas Toast - I'm sure it was done on the griddle it was so good. The only part of the meal I finished were the potatoes only because the other portions were so large. All for less than a tenner - Becky got a good tip 'cause she's a great waitress. My extended family in Paris, took me for a southern treat... Weezy's. My first couple experiences with Chicken Fried Steak has been... uneventful at best. Weezy's has changed my mind. Crispy, fresh, hot, smothered and covered with a side of mashed... Gosh - I would be 500lbs living in the south. Loved the look of the restaurant from the outside.. little red building. The food taste great, but the customer service and accuracy of the order is to be desired. We order from there several times a week since it's the only option where we live, without driving all the way to town. We order the same thing every time, but they seem to get the order incorrect every other visit. I can't even tell you how many times I've eaten it wrong, picked it off or taken it back to be fixed. When you order something the same way, you would think they could get it correct. When you work hard for your money you don't expect to waste it on food you can't eat. Generally it's vegetables put on a burger that's suppose to be plain, or adding gravy all over food that was asked for without gravy. I hate to even write this review because I generally prefer to support local businesses, but it's just gone on so long. In the past year we have had over 15 orders wrong. I've spoken to the male owner, in which he blamed me. Claimed I didn't order properly... Then spoke to the female owner who admitted fault and that it happens often, but then tonight when I called to tell them they got it wrong again, but that I would just pick it off... It was my fault again. The Young man that took my order repeated it back correctly, but didn't write it down correctly as he assumed the kids burgers were plain. I'm not sure how that is my fault? I'm not sure how a Fried Egg Over Easy needs any more explanation? Or why when we say no gravy... The gravy is dumped in and on anyway. I'm very specific when I order and always repeat my order to make sure they understand. But it seems that's just not going to happen, and they don't want to admit fault. When a customer spends $30 each time and several times a week/month, you would think they would care... I guess customer service just isn't what it used to be. Again... Food is great when it's not over cooked... But customer service is lacking. I even been hung up on twice. The first time was when I called to let them know my order was wrong and their response was " nothing we can do about it if the boss isn't here, we can't replace orders without their permission " I've never... I think my exact words were " I just can't do this today " which was responded to with a hang up. Then tonight when I asked for the price of my order after placing it. I was told " Ugh... That will take a minute, I have to get a waitress... Click". Maybe this review will encourage others with wrong orders and missing condiments come forward and help the owners make a change to prevent it from happening. Tired of eating cold food because we always have to let our food get cold so we can get the wrong food replaced. read more

Would give a zero star rating if possible. Ordered the 12 oz ribeye for lunch. Not only was the steak easily the poorest cut of meat I've ever seen, it was the toughest, most flavorless hunk of ANYTHING that I've ever "eaten". I put quotations there because it was literally inedible. I tried and tried but after chewing on the flavorless rubber for what seemed like an hour, I threw it away. Whoever cooked this thing has most definitely never cooked a steak, possibly anything, in their life. If This review isn't scathing enough, I was charged $18. read more

A Lil piece of down home heaven. You can create you own masterpiece starting with a Cheezy Wheezy and adding all the sides, grilled, raw any which way you please. Service was quick and friendly. Major disappointment. After reading all the glowing reviews I tried it. In a nutshell, the mashed potatoes were instant and cold. Would not melt the butter. Fried okra standard frozen fare. This place reminds me of what America used to be. Take a step back in time and go into a Norman Rockwell painting. Oh, and to top it off, their food rocks.
