a close up of a bagel with a bagel on it

This place doesn't care about reviews and I can see both here and in person... this wasn't my first time here but my last... I was in at 120 wait 5 minutes for someone to come to the front, I ask if the kitchen is open and it's not so I change my egg order for chicken salad on a bagel, I asked for the bagel to be heated but "it's going to take a few minutes" bc everything is already ready for closing which is at 2pm. Everything was off and wrapped- to top it off, I paid 10.65 for chicken salad on a hard bagel. 10.65....the bagel isn't even cut all the way through OR across.. girl was rushing to clean...

How is this an acceptable amount of creamcheese for a 9.50 bagel?!
Lisa B.

After not having any bagels since February due to the coronavirus, my fiance and I decided to order bagels from Higbie Bagels, especially after years of recommendations from his stepdad. We wanted to really treat ourselves and get lox with creamcheese, which here is 9.50 a pop. We decided it should be worth the extra expense, especially through delivery. They ended up not only being disappointing but some of the worst, saddest bagels we have ever had and definitely was not what was advertised. Instead of sliced lox and cream cheese, we received catfood sized diced salmon and not even enough cream cheese to cover a single side. The bagels were badly burned and hard and were tinier than my petite hands. Cream cheese wasn't even as thick as a finger. We can't believe we paid over 20 dollars for such terrible bagels that were not only poor in construction but based on a lie. This is NOT lox and cream cheese! Taking advantage of your customers during these times is unacceptable. Shame on Higbie Bagels!

They're re-open!

I've waited almost two years and my favorite bagel shop has finally reopened after being demolished by a Maserati. For a while, I didn't think they'd ever come back. I was so excited to see them open again this morning and am happy to report that the quality is still there. I got a plain bagel with veggie cream cheese as well as an everything bagel by itself. The plain bagel had a really nice crispy exterior with a soft and chewy interior. The veggie cream cheese had big pieces of carrots and scallions. The taste was excellent. This is exactly how I remembered Higbie Bagels. Long Island bagel shops tend to give WAY too much cream cheese for my taste, but Higbie Bagels did a good job giving an appropriate amount. I tend to like just a little cream cheese, so I took some of it off the plain bagel and used it on the everything bagel. The everything bagel was a masterpiece. So often the ratio of the toppings are off, not so here at Higbie Bagels. I also prefer when there is a little bit of coarse salt mixed into the everything blend. The everything bagel had such great flavor and the occasional grain of coarse salt gave a nice pop of flavor. Again, the bagel was baked really well. For one bagel with cream cheese and another bagel plain, I was charged a total of $4.08. This is a bargain for the quality of bagel they're putting out. I used to drop by Higbie Bagels a few times a week. I can't wait to go back again. There really is no substitute for Higbie Bagels in this area. Stuff A Bagel and Bagel Buzz don't even come close.

This place does not know how to properly toast a bagel. This isn't the first time i got a bagel that was literally burnt.

Very good bagels. Not the bakery style like many places have. The service was excellent, but parking wasn't great.

When I ask for white toast I mean toasted white bread. Not un toasted white bread. They weren't even busy. Sorry.

People seem to really live this place, but the bagels are good but not so good to justify their prices and lack of customer service.

I really enjoy their breakfast platters, like the western omelette and home fries. Their French toast platter is phenomenal as well, a must try. They do get busy, but don't let that scare you away. They have parking in the front and back plus, make an online order to skip the line THEN pick it up to the left door...they have an extension now that was built specifically for online orders.

Wally's Bagels in Long Island was hands down the best bagel I have ever had. Coming from Syracuse,…read morewhere *I THOUGHT* we had some top tier bagels, this completely elevated my expectations. These bagels were so fresh, soft, and perfectly chewy. Not crunchy at all, just exactly how a bagel should be. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a rainbow bagel with salt, pepper, and ketchup. I had never done the salt and pepper with ketchup combo before, but my friend recommended it and I am so glad she did. It was incredible. I could not stop thinking about these bagels the entire weekend. We literally ended up going both days. The ambience was chill, exactly what you would want from a bagel spot. The customers were kind and friendly and the service matched that same energy. I am so grateful my friend brought me here and introduced me to what real, fresh bagels are supposed to taste like. This place is unforgettable.
