Excellent food and drinks at an elevated price. Found this place just looking for restaurants that sounded good after leaving the Hershey RV show. Given I'm not from the area and rely on GPS, I found getting there to be a bit challenging as I didn't know which side streets to take to avoid U-turns. However, there is plenty of parking in the main and extended lots, so we parked and went right in. Though I put us on the waiting list before we left the show, there was nobody in front of us when we arrived, so we're seated quickly and almost immediately received waters and gave our drink order. Our waitress was great -- very cheerful and conversational -- though we both remarked that it seemed she might be by far the most engaging as our seat put us where we could see most of the indoor part of the restaurant, so ymmv. The appetizer, meals, desserts, and drinks were all excellent, though a bit on the pricy side (~$150 for two people). I would certainly go there again as the total value is among the best I've found in the region. A note about the ambiance: there were a mix of folks there ranging from business casual to poolside casual, but I can definitely see folks dressing up to go there. The somewhat industrial decor and unusual light fixtures makes the place feel a bit more upscale than the attire of the patrons indicates. Visited this place Friday. It's a lot bigger than it looks. The service was great, fast, didn't leave you waiting long. The ambiance was casual, the bar area was nice and there was seating upstairs on a level overlooking the bar and dining area. The food was very good, I had the filet medallions over rice with broccolini and my husband had the baby back ribs, mashed potatoes, and slaw. I had the black walnut old fashioned, very good taste, my husband had a bourbon neat, I tasted it and it had a very nice toasted flavor. All was very good! read more

Went solo on Valentines Day shortly after 8:30PM because I wanted to try this restaurant as I had heard good things about it. I had reviewed the menu online prior to arrival, so I had an idea of what I wanted to order. After being asked if I wanted to sit at the bar for my meal and politely refusing, I was taken all the way to the back portion of the restaurant and subsequently informed that the bartender would be doing double duty and also be my server. He introduced himself and was cordial and personable. It did not appear very busy in this section but there were definitely couples and families patronizing the restaurant in both sections of the restaurant. I decided on a cocktail to start the evening and ordered; after only a minute had passed, the bartender/server had to come back and ask again what it was that I had ordered. When I asked for recommendations, he was genuine enough with his suggestions. I also inquired about the size of the portions as I was contemplating a featured salad but did not want to eat too heavy prior to my entree. I settled on a side Caesar salad and asked for the dressing on the side. The salad arrived with the dressing already applied (rather heavily in my opinion) along with tomatoes which don't belong in a Caesar salad. I asked for it to be replaced. For some reason, I was provided what apparently was a Caesar salad made by "Popeye" because it was made with Spinach not Romaine, which I sent back and told them to forget the salad. I ordered the Chicken Milanese which was to come with Lemon Arugula, Lemon Herb Asparagus and Yukon Gold Smashed Potatoes. It is important to note that the menu did not state that the chicken was breaded but pan seared; this may be my naivete, but I was surprised when it came breaded and apparently fried. Regardless it was nearly invisible under the pile of arugula on the plate. The potatoes were tasty but nothing to write home about and the asparagus looked as though it had been boiled to death it was so wilted and offensive in its color, you could wind it around your fork like fettucine. See photos for reference. Asparagus I saw at the table across from mine was served properly cooked -- al dente. I had pre-ordered a glass of Chardonnay to be served with my entree, but I had to ask for that as well. A gentleman who turned out to be one of the managers caught my eye and asked if everything was fine. I quite frankly told him that I was much less than satisfied and explained the foibles of my meal at that point and he subsequently brought my wine to the table. I was able to reduce the shrub that was the arugula on top of the entree so it was edible but could not eat the asparagus at all. It was placed in the potatoes and under the mound of arugula covered chicken which may have added to its demise. Unsure why the vegetable was treated that way instead on the side of the plate, but who knows the condition it was in when it left the kitchen. For some reason, and it may have been their smoked drinks that they made there or the heating duct work but there was a noticeable burning smell throughout the restaurant as well. After finishing my "meal" the bartender/server approached to take my plate and asked if I wanted anything else. I asked if I could get a dessert to go and he made recommendations. However, I ultimately decided against dessert. He brought my bill to the table and explained that items had been removed and discounted due to the mishaps with my meal. I thanked him for the clarification and paid cash making sure to tip him well as I knew the kitchen issues were not necessarily his fault. This was my first visit here. Four of us had dinner. We did make reservations and I was glad we did because even on a Wednesday evening, the place was pretty busy! We ordered the Pierogi poutine for an appetizer and whatever the gravy is they use was amazing! Very flavorful! My jerky burger was one of the best ones I had with all the flavors of the burger, cheese, and relish coming together very well. But they really outdid themselves with the desserts! We ordered the chocolate mousse, pineapple upside down cake, and French toast donuts. Wow! My favorite of the three was the French toast Donuts. They arrived warm and had some kind of ooey gooey middle and they included a delicious dipping sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about them now lol. I really wanted to like this place. Walking into the building, I was hoping for a cohesive ambiance--something that matched the promise of a unique dining experience. Instead, the space felt a bit underwhelming: sparsely decorated and more reminiscent of a warehouse-style bar than a thoughtfully curated restaurant. That said, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The bar also deserves praise--the liquor selection was impressive, and the cocktails were well-crafted. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the same standard. My date ordered the two filet medallions, requested medium rare, but they arrived overcooked and accompanied by cold a pile of mushrooms and asparagus that seemed to just be tossed on the plate. Nothing special. I opted for the "hidden still signature" mahi-mahi enchiladas. While there were some interesting flavors in the dish, the overall execution just didn't hit the mark--it felt like it wanted to be great but fell short. The highlight of our meal, without question, was the Kung Pao Brussels sprouts. Perfectly crispy, saucy, bold in flavor, and totally addictive--they were the one dish we both genuinely enjoyed. In the end, I left feeling conflicted. There's potential here, and I really wanted to be impressed. We came in after a soccer tournament. The people at the front desk were really nice and got us a table really quickly. The waitress was ok. Let me tell you this, it was one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever seen. Even the bathroom (men's) was spotless. They brought us drinks immediately and also took our order. I got the crab cake grilled cheese and for an appetizer we got the still fries. The Still fries were amazing. They brought my dad regular fries instead of sweet potato fries. Thanks to high Yelp ratings, I picked this place on our first night at Hershey. Super convenient as it is located in downtown area with a huge parking lot. I noticed that behind the reception area, there was a Yelp award. I am not surprised because the food and service deserve a five star rating. My husband and I arrived around 5:45 without reservations and we were seated right away. It was a good timing because when we finished dinner, more people were coming in. This place is definitely buzzing on a Friday night. There are plenty of seats including upstairs, which was used for a party when I was there. Well lit dining area, high ceilings, walls are decorated with pictures of their drinks. Nice seating arrangement, dining area isn't too congested, bar area in the middle with TVs to watch sports programs. Randall, our waiter was super nice and attentive. He made sure that our orders were correct and he kept on refilling the water, On top of that, he knows the history of the distillery really well and also what the distillery will become in the future. We ordered tuna nacho and Kung Pao brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts had a mild spicy kick and we truly enjoyed the tuna. It's an Asian twist to regular nachos. Instead of tortilla chips, they use thin, crispy, and fresh wonton chips topped with sweet seaweed salad with cubes of fresh tuna drizzled with wasabi aioli. It was a hit. The wasabi wasn't overpowering. I highly recommend it. My goat and golden beet salad was really good. The candied pistachios gave a crunchy texture as well as sweetness to the salad. Generous amount of the goat cheese. White balsamic vinegar dressing was a great complement for it. Salmon was perfectly cooked. Mojito was also enjoyable because it wasn't too sweet. We didn't have to wait long for the food. Staff took our dirty plates right away. A minor hiccup was we were given the bill for the table next to us. Fortunately my husband checked before paying. The service here was phenomenal from start to finish. We called ahead to make sure there was no wait and they went ahead and put a reservation in for us right away even though we were only 15 minutes away, so I thought that was nice of them to do. The hostess greeted us with a smile before we even walked through the door and she was extremely friendly and sweet. For food, we ordered the kung pao brussels sprouts, the bread service, coconut curry tofu and the ramen bowl. All of it was amazing! And I've never had food from a restaurant come out quicker. Seriously, we are fast eaters and we didn't even finish our appetizers before our meals came out. We had several people check on us to make sure we enjoyed our food or see if we needed anything else, but not in an annoying or overbearing way. I wish we lived closer because the food was amazing, presented really well and super quick for a restaurant! They also have ample parking, a cute patio area and plenty of seating indoors. It would definitely be a regular spot for us if we lived nearby. Also, the drinks are strong! We got a mojito and it was so strong I couldn't drink it, but I do prefer a drink to be strong rather than not much alcohol if I'm paying for it, right? We checked this spot out for dinner after exploring Hershey's Chocolate World. We were seated in the back which seemed like an indoor heated patio and was a nice spot. Very kid friendly with a great kids menu (all choices for $10) and coloring pages/crayons! My kids each got pasta (with a choice of sauce) and choice of 2 sides! Huge portion and super tasty. Service was prompt and attentive. I tried the falafel tacos for $14 which also came with seasoned tortilla chips. Super delicious with nicely fried falafel and tzatziki. I also tried a Sazerac which did showcase the spirits produced on site. My husband tried a salad and it was sort of blah so I would stick with the sandwiches, tacos, and pastas. We were in Hershey for a few hours, and according to their reviews, Hidden Still was great and the food looked good in the photos, but what we experienced was nothing even close. We walked in and were excited because of the great atmosphere and ordered an alright bavarian pretzel. That was the first and only good thing we had. The service was good and they accommodated a nut allergy well, but the food was not good. The grilled cheese was filled with tomatoes and bacon jam which didn't taste very good together. The two salads had nothing special to them and had not very high quality ingredients. The "sourdough croutons" were not as fancy as they sounded and everything on the menu was written to glorify the bland, gross dish. The kids mac and cheese was obviously kraft and the fries and fruit were bad. The mashed potatoes were horrible and from a mix. The soups were also just not good along with almost everything else and our least picky eater in the family couldn't eat it. There was something else weird with the water system, they bring out waters for the adults and then ask if the kids want it. We had twelve and fourteen year olds and they got a paper cup for their water along with our six year old. Overall, for the price of this food you are not getting your moneys worth at all. Overall, this place is overpriced for low-quality food and I don't recommend going here. read more

My last review of Hidden Still was less than stellar. Matt, the GM called and we talked at length about the issue I had experienced. I was satisfied it wouldn't happen again and decided we'd give it another try next time we were in town. My husband and I had been in Baltimore for the weekend and took an extra day to run up to Hershey to see the folks before we flew home. I had told Matt that we'd come in and so I took my family to Hidden Still for lunch. The 6 of us had to wait a few minutes for our table but then were seated and greeted almost immediately. Except for one mistake, that either he or my brother should have recognized, our server really was on top of his game. This is probably bad to admit but my sister in law and I are always the first ones looking at the drink menu. I already knew I wanted the lavender lemonade but it wasn't on the fall menu. When I asked our server, he thought they could still make it and checked with the bar. They, in fact, still had a few cases of whatever makes that drink unique. (I need that recipe - It would make the neighborhood happy hour rock star!) Our server told me that there is enough, let's call it special stuff, that I'm safe for a few more months. Whew. Meanwhile, my SIL ordered a smoked margarita. It was one of the coolest presentations I've seen in a long time. You really have to try it, if for nothing else, to see that presentation. Back to lunch. We all had a very early morning and now a quite late lunch and a few of group was getting a little hangry. We were ready to order and we thankfully were served our sandwiches quite quickly. I stayed with a pretty safe bet, the tuna melt. The sandwich was huge and quite good. I'd certainly order it again and if you're a tuna salad lover - definitely give this one a try. My mom and dad both ordered the pulled pork and my husband and brother both ordered the Maryland pit beef. My dad and hubby both really enjoyed their sandwiches as did my brother but here's where our story goes a little awry. While the rest of us were eating, my mom picked at her food and complained. (She's 83 and has turned into the stereotypical grumpy old lady) I know this sounds horrible but we are so used to her complaining that we tend to just agree with her and then let her keep talking while while we move on. Once in a great while she actually has a legitimate gripe - and this was one of those times - her and my brother's sandwiches were switched but neither realized it until they were almost through eating. Like I said, she's grumpy and when she gets going there is no one on this planet who can please her. She refused to have another sandwich made and she refused to eat half of my sandwich. Don't ask her if she'd eat here again - it will be a solid no. Ask me and the rest of my family and you'll get a mutual "can't wait until the next time we're in town". I'm glad we gave Hidden Still another try. I'll definitely be back for that epic lavender lemonade. I've heard that the French toast donuts are amazing - another compelling reason to come back. We went out on Friday evening to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday, and this restaurant is a true hidden gem! get it hidden lol. In all seriousness the ambiance is freshening and relaxing, they make their own spirits and their cocktails are to die for. Made to perfection, and while we're on perfection their food was absolutely delectable. We found ourselves saying we'll be back before even leaving the table. Stopped last night for dinner with my daughter. Very beautiful and clean building. My daughter got the pizza cupcakes which she liked but was way too doughy. She said they needed more sauce and cheese. She also got a Shirley Temple. I got the dry rub ribs with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The ribs were a little on the dry side for my liking but tasted good. The potatoes and asparagus were perfect. I also got a spirit flight to try 3 of their own made liquors. Asked for a whiskey and 2 different rums but got 3 rums instead. The two rums I asked for were amazing the white rum which I didn't ask for tasted like paint thinner and it definitely opened up my sinuses lol. Hostess and our waiter were both super nice. We love Hidden Still. I have been 5+ times and every time, I leave thinking "that was so good... I'd definitely get [insert food item here] again." The best aspect of this restaurant is the seasonal menu... you never get bored trying different things! Tonight, I got the French Dip which was outstanding. My drink - the Hocus Pocus - was a gin & tonic with blackberry... the perfect combo of a sweet touch but not too much. Everyone else loved their meals including the chicken parm scallopini, burger and Nashville hot chicken. A few tips... if you're a blue cheese dressing lover, it's a MUST get... some way, somehow. If you only care about drinks and hanging out, you might survive Hidden Still. Otherwise, avoid it. Our party of 15 works in the hospitality industry. We know tourist towns are tough, and we usually give Hershey spots grace. But Hidden Still served us some of the worst food we have ever eaten, and management simply did not care.The Korean BBQ short ribs were essentially poached beef in a soy sauce salt lick. Management credited the meals, but the kitchen failures did not stop there. The fish and chips were fried in old oil at an excessive temperature, resulting in a well-done exterior and pasty, undercooked fish inside. To make matters worse, a simple bottled beer ordered with the appetizers was forgotten until after the main entrées were on the table. After three strikes, we are out. Hidden Still will survive in central PA only because locals settle for low-quality food as long as it comes in huge portions topped with crab or cheese. read more

The prices were very reasonable for the food and the proportions were more than enough. For an appetizer, we got the fried sprouts that had so much flavor and were delicious. My entree was so tasty. There is a wide variety of beers and cocktails to choose from as well. Our server was one of the best I have had in a long time.
