    Chicken pot pie

Stopped here on our way home after a long day of driving and it ended up being such a great find. The waitress and owner were incredibly kind and welcoming, which immediately made us feel at home. The chicken pot pie was incredible and the spirits were great as well. Honestly, everything coming out of the kitchen smelled amazing. We also had our puppy with us, and she got along great with Cue, the restaurant's pup, which made the stop even more fun. Overall, such a warm and memorable experience we'd definitely stop again.

What a great find. Pretty little town and this great bar with delicious food. The service was so friendly and seems to be a family run business. I had a drink and didn't taste the raspberry so she gave me more and switched up how to make the drink. They make their own spirits and sell them there. Small place but was busy for an early weeknight. Chicken salad was delicious and so much on one sandwich! Can't wait to try something else when we go back. Husband is now craving an Arnold Palmer!

I reached out to Spring House a few weeks in advance to set up a reservation for a group of 8. Upon arrival, they had a nice large table set aside for us and walked us through the menu. The cocktails were very solid and I really enjoyed the Malachi rum. Shockingly, the small food menu was really the star here. The Tara bites and hot dog were very good, but the star of the menu was the Bourbon Bacon Crunch Cake, which was this crazy cheesecake/ice cream cake concoction that was cold and sweet and salty and just amazing. This place really is a hidden gem. Please check it out and support this local business. Great and friendly service as well.

While their outdoor space is an excellent feature during warmer weather, I wanted to highlight their winter weekend offerings, which involve various food pairings offered in their cute indoor space (by reservation only!!) My most recent experience was their Wine and Cheese Pairing, which is featured every January. Each year, they curate a combination of local cheese and either honey/jam to pair with their wines, and every year, it's a hit. My favorite pairing this year involved their Pinot Rose, a delicious cheddar, and an orange ginger honey that was absolutely delightful. I also particularly enjoy their wine and cupcake pairing offered every March in partnership with Dia Doce cupcakes --- a highlight of every spring.

Lovely variety that went from moderate to dry with a mix of white, rose, and red. The view is nice, lots of families, even a hay bale maze for kids, and food trucks were available on the premises.

The adjacent space - Javateas - is a cafe that is providing the food. Both owned by the same family. Two separate ordering systems. I like the convenience they provide by offering a kiosk to order food, but the server will also take your order too. Two main suggestions though. I like the decor and feeling of the tasting room, but it is very bright. The brightness takes away from the charm and makes it feel less intimate. The space is on the smaller side already, so removing/diming about half of the lights would add some romanticism. Some of the lights flicker, so that was a little bothersome too. We were sitting at the back table and there is a cluster of three lights over the bar that falls right in the middle of the TV. I would remove that cluster of lights since it's in the middle of the TV. The combination of bar lights, track lighting, wall lighting and ceiling lights made it feel more like a hospital than a restaurant. My second recommendation is adding 2-3 additional beers. Again, I know it's a tasting room and not a bar, but it wouldn't hurt to have the additional styles available. I appreciate that local brewers are promoted (St. Boniface and Poor Man's), but there are other Lancaster brews that would do well here.
