Went here for my birthday. It was supposed to be a wine tour. However, the day was a total bust. The party bus was not affiliated with the vineyard. They had us in a wine room that was full of knats!!! We had to cover our food. The decor was awful! The chairs and tables were unstable. Our hostess was rude and rushed their tour. The food was not good. Thank goodness we were a fun bunch, so we made the best of a bad situation. I will not be going back. I hope you have a better experience. read more

A fun place to visit, especially on a Friday or Saturday night where you can choose from such as live music, line dancing, or a quieter dining and drinking experience. The food is very tasty and perfect for sharing. Some of our favorites include the crab dip, the Italian sandwich, and the loaded nachos. The service is friendly and surprisingly fast, even during peak hours. The wines are all good to very good. The Merlot and Leverage were our favorites from the list of reds, while the White Wash and Vidal Blanc were our favorites from the white offerings. There are also plenty of good sweet offerings for anyone whose tastes trend that way. A solid date-night option or a fun destination for group outings. Come thirsty and come hungry! read more

We love this place! They have a wonderful exterior and interior seating area which is perfect for any time of the year. The staff has always been friendly and open to any questions we have. I prefer sweet wines so I typically get the Concord. It wasn't available today so our server recommended the Catawba. It was delicious. They have a good selection of small bites - we ordered the lobster crab dip w/pita bread and shrimps sliders. Both selections were good. Paradocx had super friendly staff who were great about taking covid precautions! We got the red and white tastings and they were all okay, but nothing stood out to me. I noticed they were on the sweeter side, which is not my favorite. But the tastings are overall a great deal and I'd recommend getting them! They also sell really cute "paint cans" of wine and I wish I'd bought one for the aesthetic! Like how cool would it be to have one on display at home! I also ordered the Burrata salad and wouldn't recommend it. The flavors were good, but it was a very small bowl of spinach, with a sprinkle of diced tomato, and some chopped up burrata. This place needs to get their shit together. There is no other way of putting it. I came here for a food truck festival yesterday which was a total joke. I saw two food trucks. Not quite a food truck festival. It was mostly just vendors selling random items and should have been marketed as such. This isn't what pissed me off about this place though. It took me about 40 minutes to get my wine. There was one line and one guy working the line yesterday. I've never had to stand in line for 40 minutes at a winery. It was an absolute cluster fuck and the manager/owner should be ashamed of themselves. The only positive was that the bottles were about $29 each. Most other wineries charge much more. If you're a non-member you only have the choice of 2 red bottles. Neither were impressive. I won't be returning as standing in line for the better part of an hour was insanity. Everyone around me was complaining too. It was awful. read more

I had been wanting to visit a winery and always thought I'd have to travel just to find a good one and wouldn't you know this gem was literally 20 mins away from my backyard! A very dusty, windy, 20 mins away (so be prepared if you are traveling to this hidden nugget of a space). I went for my 30th bday with a small group of fam and friends. We tried their wine flights (which honestly every one was good). Also dived into some food choices, the pretzel bites were the highlight ! They come w a mustard, cheese and our fave: a CRAB DIP. I went home w the Catawba, a sweet blush wine and would be tempting to go back just for another. The grounds are beautiful on a nice sunny day with just enough picnic tables. There's even a stage which looks like they may do some outdoor concerts too. Happy to have this so close to home ! read more

This is a really pretty vineyard. Came in on a Sunday for brunch with friends. We all 3 did mimosa flights and really enjoyed them and we all agreed the pina colada mimosa was the best! My company had the hangover breakfast and the crab cake sliders. I had the quiche of the day. The crust was unfortunately really soggy on mine and the eggs were grainy. My friends both enjoyed their dishes. We had the chips and dip platter to start and that was pretty good - we really enjoyed 2 out of 3 dips. I bought a bottle of their "twine" tea wine to go. We'll see how that is later! It's a cute spot, I'd like to return in the summer. read more

Came here on our little wine tour through the valley. We ordered two flights and sat down to enjoy them. Twice my husband had flies in his wine that we had to exchange the glasses. Obviously not the employees fault since the most likely were in the glasses already or they just fly in. Kinda did damper the experience. We ordered a small cheese board and a pretzel to pair with our wines. Cheese board was pretty good and the pretzel was nice and hot and salty! Wines were okay. There was maybe one that I liked from my signature flight. My husband only like two from his flight. We ended up getting a bottle of what we thought was their best wine and left. read more

I would say maybe even 4.5. We have made Paradocx a regular place when we can't think of where to go. They are like a 20 minute drive from our house and we really like their wines. We have gone on busier times and they've been out of some food options, but it's been fine. The T-Wine is really good on a hot day and we like all or their other sweet wines. Music bingo on Saturday is fun and the outdoor seating is nice during nice weather. It's our go to place for wine and some small bites while we figure out what we want for dinner or just to unwind after a long week. They even have beers on tap so it's been good to take some family that doesn't drink wine. read more

We had the pleasure of having our daughters bridal shower at Paradocx. Laura the party planner was simply amazing. She was such a breath of fresh air, so wonderful to deal with and had such an eye for detail. We couldn't have picked a better person than Chef Cathy to work on our party. She was so professional, talented and so calming. She worked so hard on making the event special, everyone just loved her. The grazing station and the taco bar were perfect. The bartenders Sammie and Alex were so friendly and attentive towards our guests, they were amazing. My friends and I went to Paradocx Vineyard for the first time yesterday (10/8/23). They were having a food truck festival. They had 2 food trucks, so pretty underwhelming and not sure two trucks qualifies as a "festival". We decided to go inside and sit at a table to have a better choice of something to eat. We placed our drink order first and it took 50+ minutes to get our drinks. We had to hunt for our waitress twice to find out if our drinks would be coming and ask to put a food order in. The third time we went to inquire about our drinks, we spoke to the manager. We were told it was busy and they'd be coming soon. When our drinks were finally delivered, our waitress said she asked the manager if she could comp our drinks and was told no. Our food came out and the pizza was not edible. The hummus platter was a shared plate with lots of veggies but had about 1/3 of a cup of hummus, so certainly not enough to get too far with the veggies. Our waitress was very nice when we could find her, apologized a number of times,and promised when we come back she'd make sure we had a better experience. We will never go back. It was a horrible experience and when a manager could have done a little something to make it better, she chose not to. I realize it was busy but I would assume when a business hosts an event, they know how to manage it. If they were having difficulties with their systems, simply checking in with the table to let us know what was going on or maybe bringing us some water, anything more than the service you provided, would have had me consider coming back for a second chance. Zero stars to the manager yesterday and 2 stars for the atmosphere, which might be a little generous. read more

Awesome winery, one of the best in the tri-state. Wines are really good, and tasting was more of a flight, featuring larger pours. The staff was down to earth and knowledgeable. Average wines in a magnificent tasting room, Paradocx Vineyard will satisfy weekend winos. I'll be the first one to admit I'm kind of a wine snob. No wait - I'm totally a wine snob. But I also recognize that certain wineries are catering to different groups of people with different tastes, so it would be unfair to grade all wineries on that scale. I think Paradocx Vineyard is going for a more casual crowd - after all they sell their wines in paint cans. The facility itself is beautiful, with lots of outdoor seating and a large lawn that must be a huge draw for weddings and other events. You get four tasting options - whites, reds, sweets, and signature (you can also choose your own), which includes four tastings of wines each. There were three of us so I was able to try quite a bit of the wines. For my taste, the overwhelming majority were far too sweet and/or lacked complexity. The fact that, as I write this, I'm struggling to remember what I tasted almost speaks for itself. The most notable white was the Traminette, dry and crisp with acidity and fresh fruit. The reds were a little better, with the Chambourcin really showing some complexity with oak, figs, dark fruits, leather, and good tannins. The Merlot also was not bad, with your traditional cranberry and pepper taste coupled with that medium body texture. Overall, Paradocx Vineyard is very much average in terms of its wines. If you're looking for the best wine in the area, you probably won't find it here. However, if you just want a weekend out with the family or some friends and some easy drinking wine, Paradocx is a good place to start. read more

Stopped here on the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail tour right down the road from Kreutz Creek Vineyard, and although I didn't enjoy it overall as much as the other places, they had the best wine out of all the ones I tried which was the black tea infused T-wine. One star for that. I'm not a wine drinker by any means, but that stuff is like liquid crack. Just by chance, the measuring spout broke when I got my sample, so I got like a triple shot of it. The girl was like, "Why is this not stopping?" LOL They have a large outdoor space with games for kids, but it was disappointing that we only got 6 samples. Worth a stop though. read more

Paradocx is the poster child for the average winery in SE PA. Much like its bretheren (Chaddsford, Penns Woods, Kreutz Creek) it produces below average wines for prices that are far above their worth, in my opinion. For $7 you get to try 5 wines. We had the pinot grigio, charddonay, merlot reserve, sangiovese, and the leverage. The only one in the bunch that was drinkable was the chardonnay (with the pinot being almost there). The reds were all very thin, tasteless, and had a distinct barnyard finish that, while on many Bordeaux and Burgundy wines is fine as a minor flavor characteristic, here is was the only true flavor note. The two whites were passable but overpriced at nearly $20/bottle. The pourer knew next to nothing about the wines' production and that really took away from the experience. We also felt pressured to buy (which we did not). It's worth a stop in if you're doing the tour but, I think, it is overshadowed by Chaddsford for low rent red and passable white wines. read more

This winery is just a few miles away from Kreutz Creek, and very picturesque. The tasting room is much more... refined, I guess, but all in all we had a better experience at Kreutz Creek. For the same tasting fee, we tried 13 wines there compared to only 5 here. They had 12-13 wines on the list, but we could only pick 5. I found that surprising, considering the fee. Plus, isn't the whole point of wine tasting that the patron might end up BUYING all the wine they like? We bought fewer bottles here than at either of the other wineries we visited, and I don't think that's a coincidence. That said, we didn't like the wines here quite as much, either. But we did like them enough to buy a few bottles -- the viognier was my favorite, as well as the Old Stone Vineyard Chardonnay -- SOOOO wonderfully buttery! It's also worth noting that -- contrary to Kreutz Creek, where you're allowed to keep your glass -- not only do you have to buy them here if you want a souvenir, they're $14! That's the cost of an entire bottle of wine, might I point out, but if you must have a glass (as our friends did) then... you must have a glass. But, out of all the wineries we visited, this place had the best wine names and labels. Seriously! read more

This review is strictly for parents hoping to come here with kids to enjoy a glass of wine and watch their kids goof around on the pedal cars and in the corn maze. Two years ago, the experience was very sweet and very mellow. There was a nice local farmer, no longer especially young, and some pleasant local ladies running the show with the pedal cars and corn maze. I seem to recall a flat fee for the kiddie activities. Kids could play and parents relax. This year, you have to buy a batch of tickets and pay as you go with the kid stuff. This keeps parents VERY busy tagging along from activity to activity to dole out tickets and adds up to some serious cash. Worse: the nice, older, local folks have been replaced by less nice, younger, local folks, some of whom are harmless enough, but at least one of whom was a surly a**hole who gratuitously insulted my kid. Not cool. Good while it lasted but no longer recommended for parents with young kids. read more

Nice and laid back when not an event happening. they do a take on an italian red that is nice and rich and bold. Other than that they do what most do in the area. Chardonnay in steel and then in oak. A table white and red and a Cab. $7 tasting is a good value. If you are going in with the thought to have a fantastic day with an absolute perfect companion for the day, taste some local wines, have some fun then you will not be disappointed. If you think your are touring the Loire Valley or Napa then get off the high horse, climb into the family truckster and relax. Wine can be good, common and just plain fun. read more

We learned about Paradocx Vineyard's summer concert series towards the end of August, and decided to join our friends there. The admission was $10, and we each received a ticket for a free glass of wine (choosing from Whitewash, Barn Red or Pail Pink (a rose).) The atmosphere was so incredible-- live music, people sitting in lawn chairs with picnics and wine, a painting class, food trucks, and shrimp with oysters on the half shelf! We opted to purchase a bucket of wine to split, and the cost of $40 didn't seem that bad to me when you figure there are 4.5 bottles of wine within a pail. This vineyard also offers wine/paint nights at various times throughout the year. After visiting Napa Valley, I wouldn't say this is a high-end, wine snob place. Those expecting such will be disappointed. However, for a fun, family friendly night, or a relaxed night out, this winery is perfect! The concerts run throughout the summer until October, and last from 5pm - 9pm. My one complaint is that the food truck present only had cheeseburgers and hot dog-like food available. There were not a lot of options for food, but you are permitted to bring your own. No outside alcohol, or pets either. read more

Their 3rd annual Easter egg hunt was AWFUL. They messed up the timing and did not have enough eggs for the younger children--some got no eggs at all---what a terrible thing to do to little kids. Came here after seeing their website on the Brandywine Trail. I was excited about the place because it seemed to not be pretentious as they sold wine in 1.5 L bags, and 3 L "paint cans." When we first arrived, I was slightly turned off by the fact that they pre-choose what tastings you can do. They had 4 tastings - red, white, semi-sweet, and "signature." The signature were 4 wines paired with truffles for Valentines Day. You could also choose your own tasting, but for $2 more. I found this to be a turnoff because if you want me to try your wines, let me taste my preferences and don't charge me more for it, like pretty much every other winery. The wine was decent. What I really liked was that each tasting glass came with a little card explaining the flavors/notes of the wine, and what food it might pair well with. We ended up purchasing a couple reds, but not sure if I will go back because they do sell their wines at a retail store in Old City Philadelphia. read more

A bit crowded for our taste for winery tasting due to a private event being held there that day but we stayed anyway. Wasn't prepared to have to buy a flight rather than experience a traditional tasting but it worked out okay. We chose a flight of reds and sat inside and sipped the wine, observed the party outside and relaxed. The wines were fine - nothing to write home about. The overall atmosphere and experience was fun and filled the open time slot in our day. read more
