The venue is relaxing and open. The staff are very friendly and ready to help. I also make this a stop to pick up spirits when in the area. We are fans of the Pear and blueberry vodka, I also have had several of the bourbons, the standard and a reserve that they bottled in 2024. The bourbons are good, but the Rye is one of the best I have had. Absolutely love the Rye. As I mentioned we make it a point to stop by when in the area and will continue to. I really liked the décor and overall vibe, both inside and outside. It's a great setting and well worth seeking out. A friend and I spent an afternoon checking out a few local distilleries and breweries, and Big Spring Spirits really stood out. We did a spirits flight, and while everything was well done, the straight rye whiskey was easily my favorite. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday afternoon, but the staff never missed a beat. Everyone was moving, clearly enjoying what they do, and they were happy to answer questions and talk through the spirits without making it feel rushed. I ended up buying a bottle of the rye to bring back home to California. I also just found out they've opened a tasting room in State College, which means it's officially on my list for the next time I'm back in PA.

The main thing to know is that it's definitely a place to sit and drink and not so much a place to eat. We popped in across the street to eat before coming to DL. They do have a pub-type menu with pretzel logs, chips & salsa, and pizza. That's about it for the offerings unless they have a special. It's a nice place to have a drinking session and you add chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and decent prices and you have a real winner!

As I teased my Wisconsin family members about warmup drinks and no snow on the ground, we spilt a flight of 1/2 size cocktails. The decor meant a lot to me since my family had ponies, horses growing up and our Dad had his pets. They were Belgian workhorses, his babies. They behaved better than us kids.
