Staff are super personable and are always ready to help. Service is super fast and they always do an exceptional job. I have been going to this autobody shop for 10 year (not in a row) but anytime i need any sort of body work, the turnaround time is usually 2-4 days (Sometimes same day), never longer than a week for me they are really good at what they do! Great experience getting my car repaired at Hicks Auto Body. Willie had my car ready 1 day ahead of schedule, and beat every quote in town to boot. The color match is fantastic, and they detailed the rest of the car inside and out in addition to replacing a fender and repainting three more panels. I also received a bottle of touch up paint for the future. My insurance claim had previously been denied so I had to pay out of pocket. If you're paying out of pocket, know that they only accept cash/cashier's check/money order. This place is five stars in my book because it's the perfect auto repair shop for someone in my situation - paying out of pocket, with a car that is good for many more miles and has some moderate cosmetic damage. I didn't want to spend a fortune, but didn't want to spend years driving a beater, either. Overall, the repaired section matched the color and body lines so well I could not tell it had been repaired without a close inspection of the paint finish. There were some minor imperfections in the finished work - some buffing compound left behind in some crevices, the hood wasn't fully closed, and one of the a/c vent tabs was missing, so I had to order a replacement. Nothing to bother making a fuss about. I would highly recommend this place if you want good quality work for an affordable price. I would bring my car back here for more work in the future without hesitation. read more

I LOVE willie hicks. Seriously, he's an all around great guy. He's so personable and so kind. Every aspect of getting my car fixed, he handled for me. His team had a rental car waiting for me when I dropped my car off. He gave my 2 year old his pick at any of the cars he had on his replica display of the shop in his office. When I went to pick my car up, he'd had an oil change done, completely detailed (I have 2 kids under 2 so it was gross in there), and they took care of returning my rental car for me. He makes everyone feel like family, and I could not recommend his shop enough! Also worth noting: I had left money in my car, and tons of other random things (again, I have 2 babies) and everything I left was still there down to the pennies. Owner is really nice this establish does a really good job with your car, however there are always minor glitches. this is the second time i've gotten my car fixed here and although i always leave satisfied, when i get home, i always find a minor defect. . The first time, my headlights weren't replaced with good new ones. It looks used and it has a crack in it somewhere, where water can get in. The second time, everything seemed perfect, i almost didn't find anything wrong with it except that when they replaced my side mirror, the part where the turning signal sensor is, is cracked, like it was hit right before it was given to me. now the owner is very professional & accommodates his customer in every possible way. He does stress that if i ever were to find anything i wasn't happy with to bring the car back and he'll fix it to my liking, BUT b/c i don't want to insult him, I've never done that. They are great! My parked car was hit labor day weekend. My insurance company gave me a few options and I picked Hicks because it is relatively close to my home. My insurance company arranged my visit. When I arrived the receptionist, Iris was totally helpful. Willie Hicks Jr. was very nice and assured me that I would get great service. The damage was extensive so it took about a week and a half for my car to be repaired, but Iris called me with updates and even when there was a question about my deductible, she called to verify that it had been corrected. I had a seamless experience from the moment I called Willie after my car was hit and badly damaged while parked on the street to the time Willie had it dropped off at my house in Southie. I was recommended to Hick's Auto Body by a friend after I had a car accident last winter. And I will never go to anyone else as long as these guys are in business! The owners, Willie Hicks Sr & Jr are both very friendly, professional, and very good at what they do. They took care of everything - including dealing with my insurance company. When I had the accident and I called my insurance company they told me that I didn't qualify for a tow even though I had full coverage. So my friend told me to call Hick's and Willie had my car towed and fixed within a week and the insurance company covered everything, even the tow. The HUGE snow storm of 2011 brought a large tree branch down on my car which smashed my windshield, dented my roof significantly and left several more dents and scratches all over the front of my car. I called my insurance company to make the claim and they e-mailed me a list of auto body shops they work closely with, and whose work is guaranteed by the insurance company. On that list was Hicks Auto Body. Due to the fact that it was a snow storm and I was battling the flu at the time I figured that since the work would be guaranteed, then I had nothing to lose by going with Hicks. I was WRONG. Initially my impression was great. Willie Hicks Jr. took my phone call right away and said they could send out a flatbed truck immediately so they could get to work on it sooner rather than later. After it got to the shop he called me to give me a detailed runthrough of what work needed to be done. As expected, the roof needed to be replaced, and several scratched and dents needed work. The estimate was about two weeks. No problem. Upon delivery my initial impression was that the car looked great and everything seemed o.k., with the exception of the passenger side mirror. I noticed immediately that when I tried to adjust the passenger side mirror that the mirror only moved right to left, not up and down. That left me unable to move the mirror up to a position where I could see my blind spot. No big deal. I felt that I'd let Hick's auto know and was confident it would be dealt with, which it eventually was. The one thing I had initially noticed, the mirror, turned into several things after driving the car over that weekend. Among the things that were not up to par were: - there were pock marks all over the interior, which looked like they were made by sparks from a welder, or from someone who was smoking while working on the car. (most likely sparks) - the rear window brake light was no longer working. - the driver's side visor was mounted to the ceiling in a position where the visor was angled out of place and could not be snapped into place when not in use. (another thing I noticed but did not mention to Hick's because I felt it wasn't worth mentioning because all the other things needed attention, was that when they painted the car they got red paint inside the door jams and on the sides of the dash, which are noticeable when the doors are open.) After noticing all these things I called Willie Hicks Jr. and he informed me that all problems would be addressed if I could bring the car back to the shop. No problem. I got up first thing in the morning so that I could get there at 7 am when their shop opened. After getting in my car and driving a minute or so I noticed that water was dripping on me from where the plastic molding meets the ceiling, near the driver's side window (it was raining that morning). Another thing that needed to be addressed. I arrived to Hick's Auto at 7 am and Willie Sr. was there in the office, Willie Jr. was not yet in. I showed him all the things I had noticed up to that point, including the newly found leak, and he informed me that he'd have his guys on it. I left the car there to be worked on and one of the shop guys gave me a ride home. I believe it was the next day Willie Jr. called me to let me know that my car was ready for pickup. Everything was addressed, except for the visor which needed to be ordered. They would have to install that once it came in (they did). I asked what caused the leak and Willie Jr. informed me that it was a malfunction of how the windshield was installed. I was told it was addressed and that it should not leak any longer. To top it all off, I received a ticket for not having an inspection sticker on my car. When they replaced the windshield they didn't replace the sticker, which I didn't notice until I received a ticket. I sent a copy to Hicks so that they could reimburse me and they mailed me a check for less than the ticket. That told me that they 1) didn't pay attention to detail, or 2) they somehow faulted me partly for the ticket and figured they would only pay a portion. I had to contact them again to get the difference for the ticket. Unbelievable. Long story short -- Liberty Mutual, my insurance company, had me contact another auto body shop to have them look at why the windshield was still leaking, etc. Basically, they ended up taking over the job and had to REDO THE ENTIRE JOB because Hicks messed up so much. I would NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY! Thankfully, the job was guaranteed by Liberty Mutual, so I was able to have the job redone by a reputable auto body shop that did the job right. read more

My experience with Hicks was GREAT. The receptionist was informative, helpful, & friendly. The mechanics were knowledgeable an their work was precise and fast! Willie the vice president kept in contact with me daily through emails texts and calls updating me on my vehicle status which was EXTREMELY helpful for me! I cannot say ONE bad thing about this place. Willie Jr is a saint, and was 100% flexible with my schedule in delivering my car back to me. He even offered to bring it to my office in Downtown Boston where parking garages are $20+ dollars an hour, and pay for the garage, since the car wasn't ready on the day that he predicted. Obviously I couldn't let him do that, so it was delivered the day after including a gift bag, but still the fact that he offered is AMAZING! When does that ever happen in ANY service industry? In addition, the reason that the car was late was because he noticed something else that he wanted to fix before giving it back to me that was not even part of the original repairs. He truly is looking out for his customers and I will never go anywhere else in Boston. If I knew more people with cars here, I would recommend Hicks to them ASAP. It doesn't matter where you are in the city, they will pick up your car on a flat bed/tow truck, and then return it back to you. I seriously can't get over how great Willie Jr is. read more

It's rare to receive 5-star service in Boston. As a partner with Liberty Mutual, my insurance agency, I was connected with Hicks Auto Body this month for body damage to my Honda Fit. Willie Hicks, the owner, provided service over and above what I was expecting. When I arrived, he promptly greeted me, explained the work that was going to be done, offered me a history and tour of the business, and even introduced me to his father, the founder of the company 44 years ago. With my car at the shop, I left with a thoughtful gift bag and was given a ride to work across town, early in the morning, by a charming chauffer. The following day, my car had been fully detailed and spotless inside and out, and was delivered to me before the workday was over. In fact, they were able to bring it to me on a flatbed tow-truck during my lunch break! The entire staff, including Iris who works at the front desk were all very courteous and attentive. This was the very first auto body shop that I've ever done business with. That said, I can't really compare my experience with anything else. I just didn't want to get played like some people complain about with some auto shops. I met with Willie, who comes off like a really cool, no nonsense type of guy. I told him what I needed and what the arrangements were with the other driver. He and his assistant we very professional when it came to detailing how their process worked and followed up with me whenever they needed to. They kept my car for a couple of days to do what they need to do (minor damage to the driver side door and bumper), and when I came back to pick it up, it looked like new. They even did such a good job of detailing the interior, that it kind of felt like I was driving a new car home. Nothing that could have been cleaned was missed. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because I noticed that most of the change (maybe about $12 worth of coins) was stolen from where I kept it inside my car. I know they have posted signs about not leaving anything valuable inside, but I guess underestimated how petty some people can be. Anyways, it wasn't a big deal and everything else about service was great. I'll probably go back, if need be and keep all my change before I drop it off. Just saying. read more

Today was a great day! - Yesterday was not so nice. I was hit by a truck and it took off my mirror. I called a "DEALER" who kindly asked me for $300 to fix it. I thought about it... and called HICKS.... Almost IMMEDIATELY they answered the phone. Not an answering service, Not a agency call center, Not a uninformed "bubble headed person who does not even own a car" = = = It was a LIVE call with a REAL PERSON.
