I had this company remove my radio head set that was installed by another custom shop to find a problem with an echo on my Blu-tooth telephone. They thought it might be the microphone and they were right. They did fix it by replacing the microphone but they forgot to reconnect the Emergency Flashers plug. I had my car inspected and it failed because of this. It never occurred to me that it was AVI that caused the problem. I brought it to my local mechanic to fix and he told me that AVI failed to reconnect the Emergency Flashers plug. That cost me $139 to fix. I asked AVI if they would compensate me for this cost and they refused. Of course, if I thought they had caused the problem, I would have brought it back to them but I had no way of knowing. I feel they owed me that $139. They didn't agree. Also, I asked them to quote me a price to mount a custom steering wheel I had purchased and they quoted me a price of $420. I told them that my local garage mechanic would do it for $149 but they stuck to their price. So, I had my local mechanic install it for $149. Their price, I thought, was completely unreasonable. So, to summarize, they are grossly expensive and they don't stand behind their work. Stay away. read more

This review is long overdue! I had Safi do a Ceramic coating on my new RX350 - and wow! it turned out so so so beautiful and even to this day shines well. I've only had to take it to a car wash once. I called to get a remote start installed in my car. Told them it was a manual and what I wanted. 2-way remote, 2 mile range, etc. They quoted me a price. I dropped the car off for the install. When I picked up my car later the next day the price they charged me was $200 more than what I was quoted. They stated because it was a manual. Despite me specifically stating this to get it to be part of the quote for comparisons with other shops. This new price pushed it nearly $150 over what some other places quoted me and I would have gone else where if I knew this. When the tech showed me how to set the system, he could not get the system to set. (manuals need a preservation mode activated for safety) After six attempts and failures he finally got the preservation mode set. And was able to show me my vehicle auto start. Not a good showing for a certified installer. A few months later the autostart stopped working. Its winter, and cold. After research and troubleshooting on the street in the cold. I found it was the hood safety sensor. The connection to the wire to the sensor was poorly run. It was taught and must have pulled off of the sensor over time with movement. Maybe conditions changed and the wire became taught and pulled it off. But I was able to free the line find more slack to reconnect. I wish they had secured the wire instead of leaving it loose for this to happen. Nice enough guys. So I go three stars. But little attention to detail for the install and surprise pricing after the work is completed is not favorable. read more

What a horrible, horrible mistake. My airbag light came on and the wife was NOT happy. I called Safi and he squeezed me in fast. I am sure you can guess by reading the other reviews that AVI is as good as it gets. Kenny has been working on my cars for 20 years, and I've known Safi for almost that long. They were the best in the business back then, and that has never changed. I've not found anyone with this eye for detail... I suppose that's the reason the parking lot is filled with Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo's, classic cars, etc. You can't mess up on a Ferrari and scratch something, there's no room for mistakes. You HAVE to know what you are doing, and they DO. Ken started his career in Connecticut, then worked in Allston at the Aftermarket, then ran install for Tweeter, and then teamed up with Safi.... so the head of installs here literally has been working on car electronics and audio for 30 years. Do you honestly think you are going to find anyone who has been working for that long? And the work keeps getting better - the fiberglass work coming out of this shop is the best you are going to find in the Northeast. What distinguishes the business (aside from the obvious attention to detail and skill that the other reviewers mention) is that the people who work there love cars and car electronics. I had my 2013 Range Rover Sport detailed by Avi. The team performed a 3-stage paint correction, applied Ceramic Pro Gold to the body, rims and brake calipers. Also had the front windows tinted and interior detailed. Paint looks amazing and I plan to bring the truck back annually for a similar treatment. I brought in my Trans Am that had a deteriorating installation from a Best Buy in 2003. I wanted to salvage as much of the system as possible while gaining back much of the "trunk space" I had lost. Safi was incredibly easy to work with, making really helpful suggestions about installation and equipment. He didn't try to upsell me or convince me to get anything I didn't need. He actually suggested equipment that was less expensive than pieces I brought up because they would fit my needs better. Safi was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in the planning process. My car ended up being a mess of an installation because of the earlier project. Safi and his guys were really patient and efficient in diagnosing the problems and finding solutions that fit my new installation needs. The finished product was incredibly neat and, most important, sounded fantastic! I've already gotten compliments on the improvements of this installation. Other reviews mentioned Safi and AVI low-balling their estimates...I did not have this experience. They met their estimate almost exactly; the only reason we missed is because we discovered a lot of internal problems from the previous installation that we didn't know about beforehand. Safi negotiated the labor hours down to fit it into my budget. I cannot recommend Safi and AVI highly enough. I priced out several places before I decided to get my windows tinted at Audio Video Integration. I asked my Audi dealer, a Mercedes dealer and Range Rover dealer where they would go for tints. The guy Safi gave me a quote of $200 for speaker installations and ended up charging me over twice that amount ($470) without any heads up on the price when I came over to pick it up towards the end of the day. When I told him I didn't bring enough money (obviously..) he just gave me a dirty look and told me I should get it before they close. Need I say more? Doesn't matter if they know what they're doing...even thieves know what they're doing, it's more about running an honest and reputable business. Addition: I was a victim of this myself when I walked in to this guy's review trap. The owner posts fake 5 star reviews to compensate for the real honest crap reviews. I was referred in from Ferrari of New England and pretty much these guys are THE pros for high end audio and especially exotic work! Would not take my car anywhere else... I came here to have a subwoofer and amplifier installed in my car (nothing custom built or fancy). I really appreciated their level of detail and organization when it came to the installation and placement of wires. They were able to do everything that I requested, including the exact spot where I wanted the bass knob to be located. Everything looked very clean and professionally done. They didn't try to sell me things or upgrade products like other places did. I told them exactly what I wanted and they didn't try to persuade me to purchase another product or add on extra items which I appreciated. They were up front in regards to cost, although the timing of the install went a little over what I was quoted. I understand though that when you are quoted a price, it is only an estimate and not set in stone. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is because there was a little hiccup in the installation that required me to come back again to have an additional item installed. I wasn't too fond of this, but complied since there was extra noise coming from the subwoofer that I didn't want. After leaving the shop, I had done some research online as to what the issue may be and I was able to fix it myself at home. I wish they had offered to look into the issue or suggest alternatives instead of automatically assuming that I needed to have an additional component added in the car. I don't have extensive knowledge on cars or audio, but if I was able to figure it out I wished they could have done this as well. But overall, it was a great experience. The technicians and the owner were professional and I would come back again for future installs. read more
