Went in to watch a game and have some wings. Hundreds of TVs but none showing the major top ranked game. It took 40 minutes for someone to get the game to appear on half a small screen because 'the guy that knows how to change the channel wasn't at work today and no one else knew how'. Really. No sound, of course , because we're all here on a Saturday afternoon to dance to generic bar music cranked up at full blast. I guess the dancers will show up later, but I'm not sticking around. Currently on a work trip for the week and staying at a hotel near Hickory Tavern. Brother lives around the area and he recommended we try the wings here bc apparently they are . Brother, his buddies, and myself visited on a late late Monday night, so the place was obviously not packed. Service was great, we sat ourselves down at the bar area. Sadly, I didn't catch the bartender's name(Puerto Rican young lady w/ glasses), nonetheless she was very attentive, she had a good laugh or two when she'd walk in on our convos as she checked up on us. Beer was great and the charred wings were delicious. Will def return if I'm ever around the area, or maybe even later this week lol, but I most def recommend this place for their wings and beer! read more

Went there back last year with a group of friends from the campground, I had the Charleston burger, it was amazing, . We've been coming here for drinks and food after a day of golf since the place opened and year over year the quality has gone downhill. Our most recent visit being the worst. Swiss burger patty melt was pretty bad - told the waitress and it was removed from the menu. We wondered how many times that happens per day. Two of us had the cheese steak and found it to be less than desirable as well. The fourth had the Reuben and thought it was good but we don't think he would know a good Reuben if it hit him in the face. It was thin and lacking meat. My husband & I had dinner at Hickory Tavern Pinehurst tonight. Hickory Tavern has been one of our favorite places to eat often for several years. We do like the new menu. We had pow pow shrimp for a appetizer. We so like that appetizer. My husband had the Carolina Cheese steak sandwich. He said that was the best sandwich. Overpriced for the quality. That sums it up. There are many many many better quality options close by. I ordered the salmon and it was subpar and extremely over seasoned. They also forgot one of my side dishes (ordered to go) so there was barely enough food to be full. Mediocre at best. Spend your money on a different local spot. read more

The good: The good was very tasty but overpriced for the portion size (my shrimp & grits had maybe 3 pieces of shrimp in it. The bad: Don't sit at the bar unless your ok with mediocre service. We were a large group of over 25 people. We made arrangements in advance and they had tables set up for us when we arrived. Food was excellent and so was the service. I liked that they used one waitress for one side of the table and another for the other. It really seemed to streamline things for us, and our food came out in the expected amount of time and was piping hot! There was something for everyone including out vegetarian colleagues. This place can be hit or miss depends on who's cooking. The waitresses are normally always enthusiastic and prompt. The menu has become more diverse than it originally was. You can get oysters, shrimp, New York style chicken and rice, hamburgers, steak and chicken wings. The shrimp with broccoli, chips, salsa and a half dozen of oysters is normally what I order. Sometimes depending on who's cooking they will over cook my shrimp and my chips. For the most part I appreciate the diverse menu and the waitresses so I keep coming back. read more

Placed a mobile order only to have to wait an extra 30 min inside. The place was not busy and my order was 12 wings and a kids chicken. Big napkins under two tables and other trash under two others. Many waiters/waitresses walked right by them without even noticing. This is definitely a mgmt. training issue. Never saw any Mgr. In my 30 min waiting for my small order. I had heard the place was under new Mgmt. and had improved, but that remains to be seen by this reviewer. Hoping for improvement! Always enjoy the food though. read more

Went there for dinner on a Sunday night. Although we had a large group and it was late in the evening, the restuarant was not what we expected. It was out of choice beer, failed in providing numerous drinks correctly, and the food took over an hour and a half to get to our table. Also, most of us were not impressed with our meals. I had the "Health Nut Salad," which was average at best. When ordering wings, one of my friends asked for blue cheese which seemed to have been left out all day and was hard. I will however state the staff we nice and present throughout the meal. Overall, not my choice of restaurants to go to while in Southern Pines. read more

We were in Pinehurst for the US Open and were staying a few extra days. We went there with friends that live in the area. We were told that the staff was short that day and service might be a bit longer than we expected. We were given the opportunity to leave if we wanted and we stayed. Our service was still very fast, we ordered our food and our waitress Shayna even came out to let us know about how long until our order would be ready. She even refilled our ice tea without being asked. Everyone on the staff worked as a team to get the orders for all the customers. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and my husband had the cheesesteak. I stopped in to watch some NCAA March Madness. It was mid-afternoon and there were very few customers. It took over 10 minutes to get a beer ordered...easily another 10 to 15 for a menu to be offered...meanwhile, staff was chatting it up behind the bar...ignoring customers along the way. Easily the worst service I have experienced in years. So bad, I felt like I was in an episode of Bar Rescue. It would have been better if the bartender would have simply suggested I leave. I know people/places have bad days, but I also know when people are trying. They were not and they have forever lost a customer who happens to like their wings...just not enough to put up with awful service. Be better HT. read more

Came here with two friends. I'm from Hawaii and they recommended it dinner and drinks. Great atmosphere, wide variety menu, very friendly and quick staff despite being busy. I had salmon. Very nice and attentive wait staff at this location. The menu offered a lot of variety. We stuck with buffalo wings and tavern chips for the most part at our table. The wings were very good. We had one member order the Pow Pow Shrimp and found it be nothing special. We also ordered Spinach & Artichoke as an appetizer. In addition we ordered an appetizer basket of tortilla chips and queso / cheese dip. The Spinach & Artichoke dip was good. The queso dip was pretty bad. It was kind of like something you would use in an advertisement. It looked good but when you dipper your chip it was like diving into rubber. This would be a great place for a beer and to watch a game. It would not be my choice for a primary meal. read more

It takes forever every time we get food here. A waitress who I can't remember the name of was also the hostess. She was nice this time and took our orders but took about 1 hour to get our food. The food was okay. The first time we went here this same waitress had been rude about how we only tipped her 20% of the total of about $200 (we were a party of about 8 out for a party) and she suggested we tip 30% instead. read more
