The sushi here is great and the pricing is good. The lunch special is a good deal. I would come here once or twice a week as a treat.

Food is good service was HORRIBLE. I ordered takeout through app. Somehow it went through grub hub as delivery. Grub hub said tell restaurant I entered restaurant they told me there is nothing they can do. "I just wanted my food". I met the grub hub driver at the restaurant. The driver said they were treating me as If I was invisible and I agreed. My order was complete they handed grub hub my food and she turned and handed it to me. Grub hub driver apologized for the restaurant's behavior. A complete shame . And rudeness. This restaurant showed me. I paid 66$ plus a tip to the driver. Staff is rude. And possibly racially discriminating. read more

First time here. Had questions and they had the patience to answer them. I order the volcano sushi roll and it was good and fresh. I also tried another roll (I forgot the name) but I asked if they could alter some thing small and the older guy there jumped right up and said yes. This is better than Chinese takeout, IMO. Reasonable prices for the amount of food you're getting, super yummy, and even though we only got hibachi the first time we went, will go back and try their sushi. As a side note, I have a shellfish allergy and they have a lot of sushi options I can eat that don't have shrimp or crab. read more

This was our first time at this particular Hibachi Express. We ordered the steak hibachi for pick-up tonight. The food was ready on-time and the order was accurate. The steak was a good cut, very tender, and perfectly cooked to medium/medium rare. The texture and quality of the rice and vegetables were good and on par with other Hibachi Express restaurants we have visited. Unfortunately, there was no flavor to any of the food. Zero. No hint of sesame oil, umami, or any expected spices. The Eel Sauce was ok, but the yum yum sauce was gross and not typical for a Hibachi Express as it was watery and tasted like sugary mayo. We have eaten at Hibachi express in Tampa and Wesley Chapel many times and have always had pretty good and consistent take-out. This restaurant did not meet our expectations for this chain. Oh, to top it all off, they automatically charged us 15% tip through the online ordering app, but then when we paid in-store, the receipt did not reflect that and instead had a blank line to add a tip. That is a dishonest business practice. read more

I am so happy I don't have to eat that major grocery store's sushi when I get that craving any longer. I just hope this area supports this restaurant. They have some unique sushi rolls. Some I've never heard of. So far, I've had nothing but wonderful sushi rolls. Their actual sushi is fine. Just severely limited. But limit your sushi as long as it's fresh. I've been four times for takeout and haven't been even a bit disappointed. My only complaint is is their decor is just not there. I can chalk that up to their recent opening. I hope every sushi lover will give these folks a try. Prices are cheap too. read more

Would give a number less than zero if allowed. May have served great food in the past; however, on this day , this was honestly the worst food EVER. Facts: Chopsticks: black spots on them. (They were the disposable ones in the paper so not sure how that even happens.) Sushi: scariest looking "cat food" consistency with multiple colors and levels of decay. Did not dare try because definitely would have been dabbling with death wish. Shrimp: black vein and old. Why? Why serve this quality when you know you would never eat it? I was pretty disappointed by my experience with the food from Hibachi Express. We had four sushi rolls that were ok. The spicy tuna was fine, eel and avocado ok too but the California roll was underwhelming and had no flavor at all - just texture and that was not so good. The rice tasted flat. Even the teppanyaki was kind of flat tasting too, the veggies had no seasoning until I added some teriyaki sauce. The fried rice was bland too. The sushi rolls were just slightly better than supermarket sushi. I did enjoy the cucumber salad and the edamame. But everything was rather lackluster. With Grace Sushi nearby (and my usual sushi place) I can't see that I'd bother again with Hibachi Express, though the prices were very reasonable. Perhaps I'll give it another try since that is a lure for me. Also I found the menu to not be particularly interesting. read more

Had high hopes! Very sub par food. No flavor. Bland at best. Have the salt or whatever you flavor your food with ready. They must rely on the sauce they give you to flavor the food (Habichi). Ordered fried rice... got white rice. Again.. why? Also ordered sushi. Foul odor and would not eat. Also missing several things on our order. Called the store...Whoever I spoke to did not seem to care. I was only looking to see why things were missed and if what we ordered was normally this way. Again they did not care. my partner and i asked for 2 volcano rolls and a hibachi meal. whenever we received it, we took one bite of everything and it tasted disgusting. when we went to ask for a refund, the lady at the front said she wasn't going to give us our money back for everything when it was literally barely eaten. i'm never coming back here. it looks nothing like it does in the pictures and it tastes nothing like we heard it did. read more
