Mikang Sushi - Spicy Salmon Roll (partial) - Sushi Bars Near Me - Hernando, Florida

Great sushi and service. Golden dream, Double belly and Tropical Island (chef special) all very delicious.

Excellent. The service was great. The food and fish are fresh and great tasting. Soooo many choices to choose from and wanted to get everything. I would love to come back to try a variety of items on the menu. Will definitely come back to visit. The rolls I got were so huge and made to perfection. The ambiance is nothing special but place is clean. read more

I live in Winter Park where we have many sushi restaurants and I have to say this restaurant has the ambiance, service and food. It's the best restaurant in the county. Do yourself a favor and eat there. read more

Sushi make me so sick. Coming out both ends at the same time. Used two rolls of toilet paper one to wipe and one for cleaning up the rest. Do not recommend read more

Food and service are outstanding! Highly recommend!! Bet they wish they had more seating as often very busy!

This is really a 4.5 for me. My friend and me drove about 45 minutes to give this a try, based on the rave reviews. Plus, we're sushi lovers! This was really good. We tried 3 different rolls and I had miso soup and she had the house salad with ginger dressing. Roll 1: Snow White - spicy tuna, cucumber, topped with blue crab/surimi mix, yuzu-mango sauce and eel sauce. **This roll was very good - of the 3 we had, this was our #2. I love spicy tuna and this did not disappoint. The addition of the crab and sauces really elevated it. Roll 2: Supreme Sword - Deep fried swordfish, cream cheese, jalapeno, topped with avocado, eel and kobachi sauce. ****This roll was Da Bomb - #1 all day. I never would have even tried this if my friend didn't suggest it. I'm so glad we went outside the box for this one. The combination of the fried swordfish plus the kick from the jalapeño was amazing. I don't even like jalapenos but this was SO GOOD. Do yourself a favor and try this one. Roll 3: Dragon Roll - Blue crab/surimi mix, avocado, cucumber, topped with eel, avocado and eel sauce. ***This was our #3 - it was a straight forward dragon roll and a good one, but that Supreme Sword was so good, it made this one feel boring. The miso soup was delicious - it came out piping hot and I liked that they chopped up the seaweed pretty small. I haven't had it that way before, but I liked it. The house salad with ginger dressing was also good. The dressing is the star here - it has nice bits of ginger in it and not too sweet at all. Service was friendly and attentive. My only downside is the price, but you do get what you pay for. So for 3 rolls, 1 salad, 1 soup and 1 diet soda. It was about $62. We asked them to split the check - so $31 before tip. That being said, I'd totally drive here again and try some of the other food on the menu. My biggest recommendation - try something unique. You can get a regular California roll anywhere. These guys excel in different combinations - so try at least one of those. read more

Fresh sushi! Everyone enjoyed it except me, I don't like raw fish. I had the Japanese braised pork belly and it was awesome. Very tasty with the sesame glaze. read more

Sushi was so fresh. Wine was cold. Service was warming. Place was spotless and welcoming. Look forward to coming back. (Also not pictured were the Korean chicken wings taken to go for my father. I did not try myself but he said they were good.) read more

I mean, they did not have rice so we ordered Ramen noodles and over 45 minutes later we still didn't get our food and had to walk out.

Sorry, but the food is terrible. If you are looking for a good sushi place this is NOT the place. Service was good but the food was not at all something I would concerned to recommend to anyone. read more

Don't take basic sushi rolls and make it your own. A California roll should be just that. No mixture of crab slada. I felt like I was eating tuna salad inside the California roll The other two rolls were amazing. But don't take a classic sushi roll. Sometimes it best not to try to fix something that isn't broken read more

Not a fan anymore. My wife always order the Korean Chirashi bowl. I always get 2 sushi rolls. Today was different, we were in a hurry so I tried calling the order in. That went no where fast. The girl on the phone literally had no clue what I was talking about. So I said I'll just drive there and place the order in person. I told them we have ordered the Chirashi bowl several times when we dined in and it comes with rice in the bottom. I said she does NOT want the rice. They said it didn't come with rice. I said he's it does. They said no it doesn't but they will write on the order no rice. Guess what ???????? It came with rice. Not only that, the teriyaki chicken I ordered was like nothing I e ever seen before. The chicken was hard, dry, and horrible. So I called them up to complain. The girl says let me talk to the owner. She comes back and says they will give us 10% off our next order. My wife's food is useless, mine is horrific but you're gonna go the extra mile and give me a whole whopping 10% ..... Well don't hurt yourself. Don't waste your time or your money on this overpriced mediocre food. Would've taken a picture of the chirashi but it's in the trash thanks to the rice. read more

We had heard about Mikang from our neighbor who raved about the food and nice atmosphere, so we said, sushi?? Let's go! First, the parking lot was big enough for all of the strip center businesses, but we went at dinner time, so it looked like some businesses were already closed, which left ample parking. Now, the good part... mikang has a varied menu, so all of those friends that won't eat/try sushi have choices also. But, really? Why have friends that don't eat sushi!? ;-D We started with their ginger salad. It's always, for us, a test to see how good it is. And yay! The dressing was unlike any we've had, and super yummy and crisp! Then the sushi. We weren't exceptionally hungry - one of those mega sushi meals where we put away 5 rolls - so we just had 3. I wish I remembered the names, but one had eel, one shrimp and a tuna. The menu had a lot of super rolls that are beckoning me as I write this...maybe lunch today?? The atmosphere IS nice, but you know that weird feeling when you go between mealtimes and there's only one other table in the place? Well, that was us. It felt like any conversation we had would echo, so we stayed pretty quiet. I really want to check it out when it's bustling, because we had fantastic service, but hard to really tell about service when the two tables each have a dedicated server! My rec is to try Mikang for sure! We were impressed, again, by the quality of raw fish and a great rollup! They are professionals and we will definitely return. I'm serious, it might be today!! read more

We used to visit this place often but stopped because our to-go orders were never right. You'd get home and find something was missing. Well, we tried them again tonight after a 7-month boycott, and guess what... we had to go back for missing food. Our dinner was only okay at best, and the experience was terrible because we had to pack up and return to the restaurant for our missing items. Also, portions are a lot smaller we noticed. read more

Brought my parents this time. Dad almost ate the whole tempura app without letting us try it. So good. The bulgolgi was tender and flavorful. Mom loved her Katsu. Crunchy and delicious. The little bowl of corn and cream was her favorite. My sushi rolls were both amazing as always. Well done. Always and great meal and great service when I come here. read more

We've been visiting Mikang for about two years now, usually for our Friday lunch date, and it's always a treat. The service is consistently excellent, and the food never disappoints. The sushi chef (and owner) is both talented and creative, preparing fresh, beautifully presented dishes. While the sushi is outstanding, the menu offers much more. My wife is vegetarian, and she's always pleased with the variety of flavorful vegetarian options available. We wholeheartedly recommend Mikang -- give it a try, and you won't be disappointed! read more

So glad I found this spot! In this small town there are only a select few places with decent sushi. My husband really enjoyed the three rolls we got. My favorite was the Snow White which was recommended as her favorite. Our server was super efficient with service and nice with personality! The restaurant as a whole as far as environment seemed a tad desolate. Not to say it didn't feel inviting! Overall we really enjoyed the experience. We will be back! read more

Everyone is right. Come here now. If you want Japanese food without all the con"fusion", you're in the right place. For now, it's not crowded AND they're open on Monday nights when other Asian food restaurants are closed. I can vouch for the Futomaki, the Dragon Roll, and the Hamachi Kama. Dessert portions were generous also. If you are looking for a quiet place with courteous service, quality food, and only one TV hanging on the wall, give this one a try. I think you'll be adding this to your rotation. read more

We went there for dinner while visiting my daughter I atmosphere was very nice the way it was very good for appetizers. We got the yellow tail, Año and edamame. They were fine. I ordered the Korean chirashi I enjoyed my meal except I put too much of the hot sauce on it my fault the rest various rolls my wife got the tempo shrimp everybody enjoyed it i'd go back when we visit again. read more

Hands down our new favorite sushi location for citrus county. The wife and I ran across this amazing sushi place by accident. The exterior and interior were very nicely displayed with modern updates. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly. The sushi was fresh and fast! We thrived the Korean ribs and Goya to start then had a spicy tuna jalapeño roll and some toro and regular tuna nigiri which was great, especially the toro...you have to try it! Topped the experience off with the green tea cheese cake, it was great as well. It's hard to really compare this location with any other place in the area. Thrust me you need to try for yourself. #hiddengem Cheers read more

My son was truly impressed with the sushi he had. Although, it did not impress me as much, it was delightful to see how much he and his wife enjoyed their early dinner fare. It was our first time eating there so we ordered various items, to sample what they had to offer. They've already planned to return to Mikang Sushi when they return for a visit to Florida. Service was good. We were the only people there. Ambiance was ok. Not fancy but clean. read more

Ok yes this is a simple strip mall location sushi restaurant......but make no mistake it's not your typical 7-11 Sushi menu that you get 90% of time in a strip mall locations. The food here is quite good, we did both hot meals and sushi on our visit. I had a spicy chicken dish over vegetables and my wife had the Korean short ribs.....both were delicious. The sushi ordered was the chefs choice 4 piece surprise (I was served 5 pieces) ......the chef surprised me with both the quality and selection of what was served. 1 fatty piece of salmon (toro) 1 fatty piece of tuna (excellent) 1 piece of wahoo 1 Amaebi Sweet shrimp (with head fried as a side) 1 Uni (EXCELLENT) All were perfectly fresh, and fair in portions. Definitely will be back here! Service was warm and attentive Ambiance was simple, clean and comfortable read more
