    Spicy pork

After a morning dedicated to unpacking boxes and getting various rooms situated in the house following completion of getting the interior of the house repainted, I suggested to my wife lunch at Haeorum Foods. She readily agreed and off we went. Situated in a gas station on a quiet residential street, we were hopeful this would be a find just like that Indian restaurant in OKC serving up the best Indian food from a gas station restaurant. We were the only diners when we walked in for a late lunch. We placed our orders for dine in, kimbap to share, bulgogi for my wife and spicy pork (hot bob) for me. We also had bottled Coke Zeros to wash it all down. Having been stationed in Korea before, my wife and I both love Korean food and think we know what good and authentic should taste. Haeorum's offerings were decent but not exceptional. We both loved the kimbap and if we were rating for kimbap alone, we would've given this place a much higher rating. The kimbap was freshly made and had good flavors. The bulgogi and spicy pork were just OK...none of the flavors we've come to expect. We also thought the banchan served with our meals lacked diversity...we've come to expect 4 to 6 different kinds of banchan when dining in a Korean restaurant. We really wanted to love this place but we both thought 4 stars is too high and 3 is low...but there's no option for half stars. This place is also quite a drive for us but we might be willing to come back for kimbap alone...and perhaps try their kimchi fried rice. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $40.

Haeorum still serves up great food in generous portions at a decent price. Today we had Chick Bob and Galbi Bob (beef short ribs). Both were served hot and steaming. Very tasty. The pickles on the side are not our cup of tea, otherwise we ate every morsel. You don't expect this type or quality of food at a gas station, but the folks at Haeorum have got it figured out. While we chose to dine in (very limited seating), the majority of food was for take out.

Came here for Lunch during a recent visit to the area. This place intrigued us since the reviews said it was some of the best Korean food they had ever tasted and it was served from a gas station. We were intrigued and had to give it a shot. We got the marinated beef bulgogi wrap with a spring roll. Let me just say that I have actually been to Korea and this was absolutely the best Korean food I've ever had. Don't let the gas station throw you off. You will definitely want to stop by this place. We also ordered a chef special of kimchi fried rice. OMG this was delicious. We will certainly visit again next time we are passing through.

After reading some other Yelp reviews, I decided that this needed to be our first place try during our extended weekend in Ocala. It is inside a convenience store, but don't let that deter you. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely fantastic!! I got the bulgogi wrap with an egg roll. And I had to also try their kimchi fried rice. WOW!! Both of these were delicious. The portions are large and I was thrilled to have leftovers for later. I cannot express enough that you need to try this place. I'm can't wait to come back when I'm in Ocala again.

Traveled to Ocala for a dr visit and found this highly rated Korean hole on the wall. Don't let the gas station convenient store fool you , it's better than most Korean restaurants in Tampa. We ordered a variety of dishes to try out for lunch and take home. chicken curry 5/5 has a balanced amount of flavor but not too spicy just how I like it . Seafood pancake 5/5 was my favorite! I can't pinpoint the ingredients but this was the most authentic tasting pancake I've ever had. Packed with so much flavor and although the pancake is somewhat mushy in texture and not crispy , the flavor makes up for the texture. Fried mandu 5/5 was perfect and not oily . Beef bulgogi 4/5 looked and tasted as homemade as it can get . Least favorite was the kimbap 2/5 it just tasted bland with unseasoned vegetables. They ran out of the Galbi and the fried chicken, which is the two best sellers and what we were looking forward to savor .

I have been here just a handful of times but they always serve me great food. Yes it is part of a gas station. Please don't turn up your nose. The food and service is so worth the stop. It's like most takeout restaurants when they say it will take ten minutes. But where this is different the food is Korean, serve hot, and the way you might like it. They only have seating for about eight people so you can eat right there. Most people take it home. Since I've drive 45 minutes to get there I will stay and eat. I have tried about five different items on the menu and have never been dissatisfied. The staff are very friendly and they'll help you whether you want alternates or increase/decrease seasoning. All you gotta do is get there and try. You will not be disappointed.

I love this place. Yes it's inside of a gas station slash convenience store, however aren't some of the best places hidden? I believe it's the same owners since they opened and they've been here for multiple years now. It's always cooked to order and super fresh. I also checked in on Yelp and picked up a free Asian Salad it's a good add and I'll probably end up getting that every time. There's enough for 2-3 meals here. Thx!!!! Be back soon

Korean comfort food at its finest in Ocala. Everything was flavorful, authentic, and so tasty, reminds me of my favorite Korean home style comfort foods in California. The service was wonderful as well, as our order was taken promptly and questions answered. I appreciate family owned businesses, and am so grateful that I heard about this place through my church fam. I know that whenever there's a craving for bibimbap, I can rest assured knowing that there's a place where that'll be taken care of. The food is wonderful and I cleaned plate after taking it home. I appreciate how multi-use this location is - it's a grocery/convenience which doubles as a gas station and a restaurant! Talk about maximum usage of space and creativity. The pricing is very reasonable as well, I got the bibimbap (which consists a variety of vegetable along Korean bulgogi - which is marinated beef), that was about 14.99 and meanwhile hubby got the fusion Korean bbq beef quesadilla with spring rolls - which I think was around the same price - sorry, no picture proof. Anyway, we would high recommend and can't wait to try more of their menu the next time we visit.

Asian food is one of my top 3 cuisines and I love Korean food! Based off of the reviews and being named as one of the top 25 places to eat in the Gainesville area - I needed to check it out! When driving to this location, the directions will bring you to a Sunoco gas station. Don't be fooled as some of the best eateries are hidden gems or inside of a gas station. Inside of the gas station, they sell Asian products from beauty, food, and beverages. Haeorum Foods is definitely a small mom and pop business and it's great to see a local business thriving. I went around lunch time and there were a lot of people waiting and eating in the corner. The menu consist of some classic Korean dishes like japache, bibimbap, dukbokki, and more. I had a hard time picking what I wanted to eat as everything looked good. I went with the bibimbap with a side of kimchi. My wait time was not long but everything was cooked right there in front of you and you can tell it was fresh ingredients. Since I got this to go, it was very hard not to indulge before I arrived home. Once I got home, wow I'm so happy I waited. The bibimbap consisted of a bed of rice on the bottom layered with semi cooked veggies like broccoli, carrots, fresh cucumbers, bean sprouts, bulgogi, a fried egg, and a side of red chili paste sauce. (which I assumed was Gochujang sauce) The presentation even in the container was pretty. I wanted my first bite to be a bit of everything - the bulgogi was perfected cooked, tender, and marinated to perfection. The flavor of bulgogi was savory, salty, and sweet. The semi cooked veggies were a nice crunch and the rice was perfectly cooked and not gummy. The sauce was a perfect touch and binded all the flavors together. I had a side a of kimchi and it was not my favorite kimchi. It was a bit saltier than most kimchis that I usually eat. Instead of eating it alone, I did add it to my dish to cut down the salty taste which helped. I have to say I'm very happy with this Korean spot and surprised Ocala has such a great gem. I can't wait to come back to try out some other traditional Korean dishes. If you're in the Ocala area, definitely check them out!

Food from a gas station shouldn't be this good. It could have you believing that gas station food is better than it actually is. This is my second time here because I just knew the first time had to be a fluke. I was wrong the food is just that good. I wasn't expecting to find Korean food that surpasses a lot of what I've had in Tampa and rivals what I had in Korea IN A OFF THE BEATEN PATH GAS STATION IN OCALA!! It's not even a main street y'all! The Ambiance is.....a gas station / convenience store, if your convenience store sells ginseng root drinks with the actual ginseng root in it. I think my friend freaked them out when she talked about how much I raved about their food and have tried to come every time I visit her. I was trying to act demure and sophisticated but my tastebuds were fangirling like they were the newest K-Pop sensation. Service was fast and efficient. No muss no fuss. You order they make it and you go on your way. I will definitely be back. I got a quarter of the menu. Picture included!

We stopped here on a road trip for lunch due to the good reviews. It is a hole in the wall for sure inside a gas station with limited seating inside. Despite the restaurant being busy, our food still came out quickly and was delicious. The service was friendly too. Food is served in styrofoam containers with disposable plastic cutlery and disposable wooden chopsticks. My family of 5 each ordered something different, and we all enjoyed our meals. The price was reasonable too.

This place is one of those unassuming spots that is located inside a convenience store. The food is way better than I expected and thanks to Jay P for finding this place. It's now a regular stop when we ride at SANTOS MTB Trails. Service is always great and friendly. A bit of wait sometimes cuz they can get quite busy from walk-in and call-in orders. Definitely worth the wait tho :) ***if you want a better review...check this one https://yelp.to/NCpbcpITlz

Mee ka thung w/beef and shrimp (upgrade charge $3), banh hoi, 1/2 lb of crispy roast pork, beef sticks, with drinks. Sprite and Vietnamese coffee. Mee ka thung: 0/5 do not recommend. It was bland. No taste. No charring of the noodles. The egg was overly cooked and we added that as an extra. The shrimp and the beef tasted off. It was fishy. Banh Hoi: 1/5 would recommend. Only good thing was the sweet fish sauce it came with. The pork belly was meh. Didn't have flavor. Tasted not fresh. Not crispy. Crispy pork belly: 0/5 do not recommend. The pork belly wasn't crispy. Tasted like they had it out for awhile and basically warmed it up when we ordered. The skin wasn't crispy. It was chewy. No flavor. No nothing. Did not taste fresh. Beef skewers: 0/5 do not recommend. Again, no flavor. No fatty pieces to counter the dryness of the meat. Nothing. The worst part. There were no pickled veggies. If they knew their skewers were dry, they should definitely have pickled veggies to off-balance the dryness. The only 2 good things that were good was the Vietnamese coffee and the fish sauce that came with the banh Hoi. Service was mediocre. Had to grab our own silverware from a near by table. Had to ask for plates. Had to ask for refills for our water. They didnt come around to check on us. We actually to wave them down. I don't live in the area, but even if I did, I wouldn't be back.

The server looked at with a smile and slight confusion. We realized they were not yet open! I felt like a dunce. We offered to come back. She made sure we were comfortable, provided several laughs, and advised that the chef was preparing. The ambiance was so inviting and the overall vibe was great so waiting was not even a concern. We started with the wings. Oh my! They were out of this world. I can only assume (because I didn't ask) that they were soy garlic, and oh so yummy. Extremely tender and moist, with more flavor than any wing should have. My Daughter ordered the chilli oil noodles. They were a medium spice packed with flavor. My finance ordered hot and spicy noodles that didn't hold back. They were as described with the perfect about of heat. She'd felt they would have benefited from a bit of sweetness, but were delicious. I thought they were great. I ordered the mongoose Dan Dan noodles. They were also delicious. The noodles themselves were the star I feel. They had the perfect amount of bounce giving an authenticity I didn't expect. I tried all three dishes and my favorite was the hot and spicy noodles but my daughter gave her leftovers to her boyfriend! I was offended but I survived. We shared a slice of pistachio cake that was truly special. The server told us it was amazing but we didn't expect it to be that good. It was super moist, not overly sweet, and was nothing less than perfect. Totally unexpected. This is a true gem.

The soba noodles were light, refreshing, and coated in a rich sesame sauce that had a great balance of nuttiness and subtle sweetness without being overpowering. On the other hand, the chili noodles had a completely different flavor profile-bold, savory, with a slight kick of heat that built up without overwhelming the dish. What really stood out to me was how well the noodles themselves were cooked-perfect texture, not too soft or too firm, which can be hard to get right. You can tell there's attention to detail in the preparation. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and they took the time to answer questions and give recommendations, which I always appreciate. The ambiance inside is also a big plus-clean, comfortable, and modern without feeling too trendy. One unique touch I loved was the cooking videos playing inside; it adds to the overall experience and makes the place feel more engaging. Overall, everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere made this a really enjoyable visit. I'll definitely be coming back, and this is quickly becoming one of my go-to spots when I'm craving noodles.
