Many booths, bar seating, and tables

Always enjoy visiting Tokyo Sushi for rolls. The sushi rolls are very large so there's no reason to over order. I've ordered takeout as well as dined in and both experiences have the same quality food and similar wait times. We've never had to wait for a table and the order comes out fast so it's a great place if you're limited to a 1 hour lunch break. The restaurant is always clean and staff are always helpful and thorough. On my visit today, we ordered spicy tuna, spicy crab (lunch special comes with soup and salad), volcano (great roll) and crazy dragon (the current special). All were great and price was on par with other sushi places.

Excellent!! Walked in on Mother's Day around 5PM. Not busy. Nice and inviting environment. Classy and perfectly air-conditioned. We're from Alaska with a high Asian population and many such restaurants in urban areas. So kinda spoiled on good variety of Asian foods and excellent sushi houses. We're also used to very fresh fish. This place was all of that and more. Service was ideal. Timing was spot on. The menu was incredibly well organized with every option for sushi style and hibachi plus many others. The menu stays true to Japanese cuisine vs. being a cultually-mixed cuisine like some places do. The portions were way more generous than expected and came with soup and salad starters. This is a gem of a sushi and hibachi house. It's definitely going to be a local favorite for our family!

Very good and fresh. Very friendly staff. A little pricey but not outrageous. I would definitely recommend it. Love the bento box!

So close to home! Excellent service and great tasting sushi! We ordered the Sushi for Two and it comes with salad and soup (two each). The staff were very attentive , especially Carliannys, and the chefs were excellent. We'll definitely be back!

The food was extremely fresh. The presentation was delightful. And the service was just right. We were served by a young couple, answered all our questions with smile.

The Crazy Dragon roll is the best! It's usually on the special and I get it every time along with the Miso soup. Love this place.

Way too expensive. A small roll was $23 plus tax. Mostly rice. You can get 4 good rolls at Sam's Club for $20! Much better deal.

I had Thai on one visit and sushi on the other. The Thai was decent. It didn't have a lot of spice for medium which I ordered to be on the safe side. Probably should have went with medium plus or hot. The sushi was very good. I don't know how much competition they have in Ocala but I could definitely see this being a regular spot if I lived in Ocala. Service was fine, I've got no complaints there. The one very memorable negative thing I noticed on both visits was they were absolutely blasting the AC on both visits when it wasn't anywhere near scorching outside. The first time I had on short sleeves and was near the edge of my comfort level- I nearly went back out to my rental to get a hoodie. The second time was later in the evening and it had cooled off a lot outside but the air conditioning was still working like the restaurant was on the planet Venus. Like the knob was on 11 like the amplifiers on Spinal Tap. Fortunately I was dressed appropriately this time but I did hear a large table of older ladies complain about it multiple times before bringing it to the attention of the server. Resolvable temperature concerns aside, I'd recommend the sushi here and give the Thai a second chance as well.

Edo Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse -- A Missed Opportunity for Authenticity…read more Edo Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse lands at 2 out of 5 stars, and honestly, that feels generous only because the service itself was perfectly fine. The team was polite and efficient, but the overall experience leans far closer to Japanese fast food than the immersive Asian dining atmosphere the name suggests. The biggest disappointment came from the stir‑fried noodles. The flavor told the whole story: it tasted like a massive batch had been pre‑cooked earlier in the day, with staff simply tossing in more noodles as orders came in. The result was bland, under‑seasoned, and lacking the freshness you expect from a hibachi‑style dish. Even worse, the protein portion was minimal -- in my case, the chicken felt more like an afterthought than a feature of the meal. For a restaurant positioned as a Japanese steakhouse, the experience should feel intentional, flavorful, and crafted to order. Instead, it felt rushed, generic, and disconnected from the quality you'd expect at this price point. There's potential here, but until the kitchen elevates its approach and embraces true made‑to‑order cooking, Edo Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse will continue to feel like a fast‑food interpretation of what should be a richer, more authentic dining experience.

Almost immediately following my order, the salad came out. It was great, cold, and crisp. They loaded on the ginger dressing, which I was happy about. I ordered a few rolls and they came out shortly after. The place was quiet so it was nice to get able to get some work done there. I got the bill and the price was super reasonable. I rolled the dice on their $9.95 lunch special -- two rolls and soup or salad. Naturally, I chose the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls with onion soup, because balance. Now, let's talk value. For under ten bucks, you get sushi, soup, and a moment of peace -- that's already a win in this economy. The flavor was solid, ingredients were fresh, but the rolls themselves were a bit on the fun-sized side. A little more rice wouldn't hurt -- not asking for sumo rolls, just something more substantial than a sushi suggestion. Service was quick, friendly, and didn't involve anyone saying "we're out of that," which in itself is a minor miracle these days. Bottom line: Aki Sushi won't blow your mind, but it won't break your wallet either. Great for a quick fix when you're craving sushi and a break from adulting.
