If there is a Chinese buffet near me, I will find it. I had been to the Ocean Buffet in Gainesville before and thought I would check out their sister location in Ocala while down there for work one afternoon. Even for a weekday lunch, the place was busy. The staff kept the selections fresh and replenished and I honestly felt like they offered a little bit more than the Gainesville location. Does it feel like the most authentic Chinese cuisine? No, not really, but you can't beat the amount and the selection for your price. I wouldn't hesitate to go again. read more

The food does not have much seasoning unless you use the habarchie grill. The service is not friendly. Our server actually snatched her tip money from the table without knowing it was for her. We sat at table 1 and were watched the entire time we ate. The chocolate putting actually had a petroleum taste to it. The server was pushy and when it came to filling out the tip she stood right over us. The building looks unfinished and the coy fish "pond" is simply inhumane and pathetic there's 5 inches of water and tubes and wires sticking out while there are several large coy fish in it. Great place for family and friends but it has a twist. The service is not good, myself and the family were very thirsty and no waiter came in to give us refills. I've seen many waiters giving other customers the attention, a restaurant should be giving. Our Server 'Gavin', did not indeed give my family that attention! He just walked around and stood still behind a wall. He did pick up our finished plates but his service as a waiter was not acceptable. He also got mad at my wife, when she didn't tip him, after i gave him a $10 tip, and he also slammed the receipts hard on the table. The food was amazing we deserved a respect to the chefs. My wife and I drive 25-30 miles to Ocala to eat here at least once a month. We have our favorite dishes here, but by and large the food is tasty and the variety is vast. If you cannot find half a dozen dishes here that you would regard as delicious, then you're just not hungry. And the price of this unlimited buffet is super reasonable. We love it. read more

This place is nice. This our first time here. The atmosphere is beautiful. There's gentle music playing the background. We are currently here during lunch time. The food is amazing. They even have sushi (I don't eat sushi just thought I would include that.) For lunch for 2 people came to about $32. It's all you can eat. I love the hibachi part of the restaurant. Ocean Buffet is one of my favorite places to eat. I normally do take out because I'm normally alone, but I really like the place. However, I notice something there on Monday, June 23, 2025, at approximately 12:30 pm and I wasn't pleased at all. A customer came into the restaurant accompanied with a dog of approximately 3 feet tall and the dog was with the customer near the food, tall enough if it wanted to it could easily reached for the food (around the soup area) because that's what I was getting at that time. I am a small woman, barely 5 feet tall. Being it was lunch time, naturally, the restaurant was crowded. Not a time for a dog that big to be roaming around. In all fairness one of the employees did say something to the owner of the dog, however, nothing was done about it. Like I say Ocean Buffet is one of my favorite places, but I didn't like this and this should be addressed. For your information, this dog did not appear to be a "service" dog. Please check into this. This is the location on 200 near Olive Garden. Thank you. I didn't give a five star because of the dog issue. Sorry I don't have any photos or videos. I'm just a regular customer. read more
