I feel that it has a quiet nuanced feel that is simply elegant. I ordered the Create your own course because I wanted more. I was in time for the lunch special that they serve Tuesday-Thursday from 11-3 but that wasn't what I was looking for. When coming here I just wanted to enjoy my idea of the meal I can create. The create your own course is just that and for $40.99 you receive an "appetizer, entree, dessert served with two sides, naan or tandoori roti and sauce. If you would like an additional entree and two sides it's only an additional $16.99. Extremely reasonable for the amount of food you receive and how well the food is prepared and the service you get here. My favorite is the Chicken Vindaloo which is Chicken, chili,tomato and it has a little coconut in it. It's a spicy dish but a little tangy too. I love that the heat is flavorful and not overpowering that you cannot taste all the spices in the dish. The tandoori roti I enjoy thoroughly it pairs very well with this dish, I've had the Peshawari naan which is filled with cherries, coconut flakes, cashews and raisins and this is so different and delicious more of a dessert you must try too. I also had the chick pea salad and this is a mix of chick peas, lettuce,red onion, cherry tomatoes and cilantro. Nothing out of this world but refreshing. Last time I was here I had the Samosa Chaat for a starter it was so good! It's a potato turnover with chickpeas layered with chopped onions, yogurt, tamarind, mint chutney, and so flavorful! The Dal soup is also very nice it's a smooth mild soup made with yellow split pea lentils, some ginger and just the right amount of garlic. So many choices here and I'll keep coming back so I can be sure to try everything in the menu at least a few times! I have had dessert and I really enjoyed this as well wanting to try something different than I can get in most restaurants so I tried the Gulab Jamun that is a deep fried dumpling soaked in a sweet syrup that is infused with rose water and coconut. I don't know what to expect but I absolutely loved this and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it might be it was very pleasant and a mild flavor but truly delicious! We witnessed a couple sitting at a table near us who had a dog in a baby carriage type thing. They were feeding the dog with a restaurant fork and also giving some food out of a restaurant bowl. I pointed this out to our server Debbie who told us they are not allowed to ask any questions as service dogs are allowed. When we pointed out to her that they were feeding the dog with their fork and bowl as well as letting the dogs head on/near the table and then ask her what type of service could the dog provide sitting in the carriage she went and talked to them. Debbie came back and told us the couple had a government issued license indicating the dog is a service dog. Again, she said there was nothing she could do. I suggested she talk with her Manager as service dog or not the dog can not provide service sitting in the carriage and should not be feed at the table with their fork and bowls. Debbie stated the couple told her the dog had recently had surgery. The couple left before we did and as they passed by us the dog was very active in the carriage and did not appear to be feeling bad. After they left another person cleared off the table and then wiped it down with a cloth. We watched her take the cloth put it a container which appeared to have water/or some cleaning material in it. Later another person used that cloth on another table. Not all of us ate lunch as we decided we did not want to eat food in a place that: 1. allowed dogs sitting in a carriage. 2. allow dogs to be feed with their fork and bowl. 3. allow dogs to have their head at/near the table top. 4. use a cloth to clean a table where a dog has been and then reuse the cloth on another table. Not only did they lose income today but the likelihood of me returning to Pig and Cattle is very slim. I have always enjoyed Pig and Cattle and personally I think you prices are reasonable and food is very good. Our after Church group -- generally 8-12 people--have about four place we rotate going to. The next time Pig and Cattle comes up in the rotation it is very unlikely my wife and I will go. Afterall, how can we be sure another dog was not at our table or a cloth used to clean the table had not been used to clean a dog table? How can we be sure that the silverware we are using has not been used to feed a dog? How can we be sure that the bowl/plate we we are served with has not been used to feed a dog? Yummy House in Ocala was actually referred to us by the owner of Square 1 Burgers in The Villages, another fantastic restaurant but that's another review. Yummy House offers a variety of authentic Chinese dishes, and they also offer Dim Sum on weekends. The first time my spouse and I went there, we couldn't believe the choices. We used to always drive to Peter's Kitchen in Orlando but it was over an hour to drive there for us. Ocala was much closer and to be quite honest just as good as the restaurant in Orlando. Every dish I've ordered there has been out of this world. Which makes it so hard for me to choose my entrée. I do have a favorite server at Yummy House. His name is Ming. So, when I dine at Yummy House, I always ask to be seated at Ming's area. I also golf in Ocala which friends, about 8 to 12 of us. After golf, we normally have lunch together too. So, Yummy House is at the top of the list for us. When we do, I call the restaurant ahead to make a reservation and ask them to assign Ming to us. Ming always provides excellent service and especially with me being Asian, he kind of knows what type of dish I like and when I order a dish he will normally make suggestions to add to the dish or cook a certain way that knows I would like. He also makes suggestions to each person in our group and sometimes he'll tell them to try a dish that he's sure they've never had before. He tries to take them out of their comfort zone. They've always been happy with his suggestion. The restaurant itself reminds me of some of the Chinese restaurants I've been to that is not a fast-food restaurant. Very authentic inside. They also offer a beer called Lucky Buddha. I think everyone likes to order the beef because the bottle is in the shape of Buddha. Yesterday, we met friends at Yummy House who are visiting from Boston. Unfortunately, Ming was off and another server took care of us. He was a good server but just not like Ming who really goes out of his way to talk to you, joke and laugh. However, he was not a bad server but he was just there to provide server and do his job. So, I cannot fault him for that. So overall the entire experience yesterday was good. I highly recommend Yummy House if you are near the Ocala area and are craving for authentic Chinese food.
