If you're looking for variety, Hot Pot Korean BBQ in Ocala delivers in a big way. We opted for both…read morethe Korean BBQ grill and the hot pot experience, which let us enjoy the best of both worlds. The concept is simple: choose from an enormous selection of raw ingredients and cook them yourself either on the tabletop grill or in one of several flavorful broths. The selection was impressive. They had a huge variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and mushrooms. One thing that immediately caught my attention was the hanger steak, one of my favorite cuts, and it was excellent on the grill. The pork belly was another standout, cooking up beautifully with great flavor. Seafood lovers will find plenty to enjoy as well, including scallops and even crab legs. As someone currently following a keto diet, there were plenty of carb-heavy options I skipped, but it didn't matter. The selection of proteins, vegetables, and mushrooms was so extensive that I had no trouble filling up while staying on plan. By the end of the meal, I felt completely satisfied and genuinely felt like I got my money's worth. Between the quality, variety, and interactive dining experience, Hot Pot Korean BBQ is a fun place to eat and one I'd happily visit again.

We absolutely had never been to this K-pop before they were very hard to hear initially, and she briefly showed us the front in the back of the menu so we quickly chose something because we didn't know how it operated.. we quickly chose barbecue and when we sat down, the waitress came over and explained that we just get up get our food and then we we quickly realized that there was way more options for the K-pop and there was the actual barbecue section. The student bother us as we have in Korean barbecue before however, when we looked at the slices of meat, they were completely fat. The port was all fat. The Bulgogi had lump of fat on it and the chicken were tenders, but they were all with the tendons intact. The kimchi was not completely fermented. It was actually horrible. The daikon was so thick. I don't understand where the seaweed salad even came from as it was overly salty.. The french fries were called to the touch. I brought my one year-old in with me and he didn't even touch them. The rice was probably the most upsetting part because it was damn near porridge too much water in the rice that my son couldn't even put it on his spoon.. I also wanted to note that our stove top turned off and we weren't even aware . the only thing that they did not mess up was Gaza and I want to make this very clear. The dessert menu is watermelon pineapple orange slices a piece of store-bought cake we ended up paying almost $80 with tip for 2.5 people and everything we tasted was disgusting as soon as I left the restaurant I threw up everywhere.. I took my waitress out of courtesy but we literally didn't get our water filled. I think this was a zero out of 10 experience if I could not rate it at all and put 0.0 stars it would get that before leaving I told my waitress how disgusting everything was and she actually agreed. She said she only ate there one time to say she did and she wouldn't eat there either. I'm not sure if people are just extremely unexperienced with how Korean food should taste as we have that culture immersed in Hawaii as well as my daughter coming directly from Korea, but this experience could not have been any worse.

We live…read morein The Villages, unfortunately there just aren't any authentic ethnic restaurants in The Villages. There are wanna be Chinese restaurants in The Villages but the food is Chinese-American and I would not even eat there or recommend them. Yummy House in Ocala was actually referred to us by the owner of Square 1 Burgers in The Villages, another fantastic restaurant but that's another review. Yummy House offers a variety of authentic Chinese dishes, and they also offer Dim Sum on weekends. The first time my spouse and I went there, we couldn't believe the choices. We used to always drive to Peter's Kitchen in Orlando but it was over an hour to drive there for us. Ocala was much closer and to be quite honest just as good as the restaurant in Orlando. Every dish I've ordered there has been out of this world. Which makes it so hard for me to choose my entrée. I do have a favorite server at Yummy House. His name is Ming. So, when I dine at Yummy House, I always ask to be seated at Ming's area. I also golf in Ocala which friends, about 8 to 12 of us. After golf, we normally have lunch together too. So, Yummy House is at the top of the list for us. When we do, I call the restaurant ahead to make a reservation and ask them to assign Ming to us. Ming always provides excellent service and especially with me being Asian, he kind of knows what type of dish I like and when I order a dish he will normally make suggestions to add to the dish or cook a certain way that knows I would like. He also makes suggestions to each person in our group and sometimes he'll tell them to try a dish that he's sure they've never had before. He tries to take them out of their comfort zone. They've always been happy with his suggestion. The restaurant itself reminds me of some of the Chinese restaurants I've been to that is not a fast-food restaurant. Very authentic inside. They also offer a beer called Lucky Buddha. I think everyone likes to order the beef because the bottle is in the shape of Buddha. Yesterday, we met friends at Yummy House who are visiting from Boston. Unfortunately, Ming was off and another server took care of us. He was a good server but just not like Ming who really goes out of his way to talk to you, joke and laugh. However, he was not a bad server but he was just there to provide server and do his job. So, I cannot fault him for that. So overall the entire experience yesterday was good. I highly recommend Yummy House if you are near the Ocala area and are craving for authentic Chinese food.

Con's- Didn't like the fact that when placing an order online you're forced to tip. (I don't mind tipping but prefer to tip when I pick up my order) Upon walking in it didn't smell too good. I had to ask for condiments and utensils. (In my opinion if I've already tipped before picking up my togo order utensils should've definitely been packed. I understand that condiments shouldn't be in bag as some don't want/need them.) Pros - Food was good and flavorful. Portion size was mediocre and average. Maybe later we will go and try the dim sum but if the smell is there when we walk in we will walk right back out.
