This is your typical storefront Chinese restaurant, nothing extraordinary and nothing awful; however, what sets them apart is their coconut sauce. This isn't an item typically found at most restaurants like this. I order honey chicken and a side of coconut sauce and it's really outstanding! They also have a homemade duck sauce that's very good. Their fried rice isn't that bland yellow rice, it's a nice golden brown and is tasty and full of vegetables. Their staff is accommodating - one time I called and no one answered so I figured they were closed. My mom lives in Ocala and she goes to another Chinese restaurant in the area and I saw this had better reviews so I tried it. I ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan with no carrots and my mom always gets Chicken Egg foo young. The Moo Goo Gai Pan is usually a healthy option as it is white chicken breast, mushrooms, celery, snow peas and carrots (if you do not omit them) however, their chicken tasted like it had been coated in something and had an odd texture. I would say it would be the equivalent of a flour? Maybe dipped in flour then added to sauce? My mom said her egg foo young was better at the other place. read more

I tried this strip mall Chinese Restaurant for the first time and placed an order to go. I ordered Mongolian beef and my wife ordered Mongolian chicken. The sauce, meat, and chicken were seasoned perfectly and the portions were large. Why the negative review then? The rice. It came with pork fried rice but to even call it rice is a stretch. Having been in the wholesale restaurant business for decades I have some knowledge about restaurant food. The rice was almost the size and texture of grits. My employer sold 100 lb bags of rice and there were different qualities of rice based on the amount of broken rice. We never sold any rice with over 20% broken pieces. This rice was the exact opposite. It looked like 80% or 90% broken pieces! It was a job trying to find any whole pieces of rice. It made the fried rice just a pile of mush. To save 4 or 5 dollars on a 100# bag of rice when rice is so cheap is ridiculous. Serving low quality rice at a Chinese restaurant is not the place to cut corners. We felt safe! We ordered over the phone, paid for and picked up our order at a plexi-glass 'window' without having to go into the restaurant. Our food was temperature warm, tasty, plentiful, reasonably priced, with plenty of condiments and the order was correctly done. Tom had General Tso's Chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. The sweet and sour pork was unremarkable. There was plenty of sweet yet no sour. Basically it was tasteless. There were NO vegetables. No peppers, no pineapple, and no onions. By far, the worst Chinese food I have had in a long time and it didn't look like the pictures either. When the lady in front of me opened her bag of crispy noodles, tasted one, called the server and said, "I'll need some fresh ones", I should have known I was going to get those stale ones and I did! My chicken had pieces of fresh chicken and pieces of old, hard chicken. The fried rice was so dry that I had to add water, soy sauce, oyster sauce, scallions, onions...I made fried rice! The chow mein had tons of onions, a few strips of beef and one broccoli floret that I could not chew. The best thing was the white rice. I can use it to make shrimp fried rice on Saturday. read more

First time getting to go dinner. The food was respectful, nice packaging and not crazy priced. Nice place, was surprised being in a shopping center. The chicken was a little different, the shrimp was very good, and the next day tried beef which was very good. Egg rolls are typical, no surprises there. So this is my second time coming to this location on 200 and for the second time the type of meat provided is below average. First time we ordered was pepper steak. There was more vegetables than actual meat and the second was bourbon chicken I don't know what that was, but it wasn't bourbon chicken. read more

Wok N Roll II STOPPED DELIVERY??? this was the only Chinese delivery restaurant in west Ocala! WTF? Are they worried about an 80 year old, wrapping their oxygen cord around the delivery persons neck? I don't understand, in a city of retirees, and older people with some medical issues why wouldn't you want to offer delivery? I can't begin to explain how great this restaurant is. To put it easily, best Chinese food I've had in alot of cities in the southeast region of the us. My family has eaten here enough to put them and they're children thru college if that tells you anything. The establishment is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Terrible-terrible-terrible!!! This place is awful. Once was one of our favorite places...now NOT! Just returned from there and we left our food on the plate, after we sent our first plate back....well overcooked of the point of not being able to tell what is was!! We were served our fried rice, with no dishes to eat with , had to ask the waitress (who did not speak very good English) for a couple of plates! Never took the dirty dishes off our table from our soup, never came back to see if things were o.k.! Definitely would not recommend this place, it needs to be cleaned up, the carpets changed and it certainly needs a new cook. Take your chances if you are brave enough to go there! read more
