I just don't understand why they can't get a order correct. The food is good but for some ungodly reasons they seem to always forget one of the items that you ordered and paid for. It's happened to me three times now and you get all the way home and find out that you don't have what you ordered you call them and they tell you so sorry we will give you two free egg rolls but that doesn't make up for the 20 minute ride there and back. THE WORST! First time visit today, placed order for carry-out. It was absolutely the WORST! The orange chicken was over-cooked, and very, very dry. The fried rice was a joke. They cook a bag of plain yellow rice, add a few pieces of carrots and onion. Zero flavor. At any other Chinese restaurant I have always been served authentic Chinese rice that starts with white rice, stir fried with soy sauce and assorted Chinese vegetables. Tried this place a couple of times, about 3 years ago when we moved to the area, and after the three strike rule, haven't been back. But everything has changed and I was out and thought , start fresh, give it a try rather than going farther for the Chinese food I have been enjoying lately. Called, ordered the chicken cashew meal, always my first order at a new Chin restaurant, got there 15 minutes later and waited another 10. They were busy, such a good sign, thinking I may have wasted a couple of good food years! Well, the meal was ok, dry, especially the rice and for fried rice, very few vegetables, almost vegetables free. Then chicken and cashew ...the chicken, I believe was coated in something, maybe cornstarch, but I'm reaching, had an unusual texture, the sauce was good, it needed more, but the problem was ratio. Typically the name of the dish will feature the main ingredient, in this case it was far far off! Prices have gone up, products are less plentiful but charge me a fair price for contents! My to go plate , I'm guessing, held maybe 3 cups of food, the rice would have been at least a cup. I took 1/2 the rice, 1/2 the chicken and cashew and put on a dinner plate. I started eating and was finding I was eating and seeing more celery than anything, ate what I wanted and then took the remaining celery and put it together....after eating a great deal... over a cup of celery! This is a classic case of filler, ruins the dish and is a killer in my opinion. Obviously, they don't need my business, they have a great location, they have done well in over passing COVId precautions, but don't play with me, give me the best of the ingredients, no fillers, no lies, chicken an chasers, fried rice with vegetables, rather would have had a smaller, good portion than a larger ruined portion. read more

The chicken wings were flavorful but not the best 6/10, the bourbon chicken was a 10/10 for me it was saucy had a good smoky flavor and was seasoned well. BSRT were dry no sauce which i like sometimes reminds me of griot 9/10 it had alot of flavor sweet but not too sweet, PFR was a 8/10 only thing that lacked flavor but wasn't awful overall I would go back because it was enjoyable (sorry no pic) read more

I was expecting run of the mill Chinese take out. I was disappointed. Shrimp Kung Pao had 4 shrimp total. Fried rice was flavorless and strangely yellow. General tso's chicken was more breading than chicken. In fact a few pieces were fried breading. The flavors were muddy and boring. They went crazy with corn starch and thickened the sauces to gels. The fried items were overdone. They did have a giant wall of plexiglass erected to separate themselves completely from customers. I guess that's good. Prices were fair. read more

There is a lack of organization for order taking and order pick up, on top of the phone ringing off the hook making the entire order/pick up experience poor. One year into the pandemic this should be seamless. Call in your order is the best advice! Chicken wings and rice special was poor, wings were not fresh and the pork fried rice had very little flavor. Wonton soup average House egg foo young was average. My wife and I stopped for a couple lunch specials the other day. First, I have to say we're from New England, where there are a LOT of high quality Chinese restaurants and they serve a different style of many items, like fried rice and lo mein. Anyway, my combination plate was orange chicken with pork fried rice and my wife got bourbon chicken with pork fried rice. The good news is the orange and bourbon chicken were both good. The bad news is that the "pork" fried rice (upcharge) contained almost no pork whatsoever and their fried rice is YELLOW! What's up with yellow fried rice? It's supposed to be made with fresh cooked rice and soy sauce, which makes it BROWN, not yellow. Not sure what ingredient would even make it yellow. The other annoying thing is that the lunch combos include soup and the options are wonton or egg drop. Hot & sour soup is a $1 upcharge. Why? There's nothing in it that is remotely expensive. So we got the wonton soup, which was a couple wontons floating in chicken broth. Not impressive. read more

Went in here because I was feeling like some Chinese food. Let's face it, this is the typical Chinese take-out place scattered all over the US. The thing to think about with a place like this is whether or not the food is decent. They rely on take-out orders for the most part, so dine-in facilities are at a minimum, mostly being used as places to sit while your take-out order is being prepared. That being said, I ordered the Szechuan Chicken dinner platter, and was not disappointed. The rice was tasty, there was plenty of food provided for the eight bucks I paid, and the fortune cookie was oddly spot-on because of a motorcycle ride I had been on the day before. If I am passing through the area and have a hankering for Chinese food again, I would certainly go back. I was reasonably content with the food (3.5 stars because it isn't the level you can get in a larger metropolitan area), but I will not go back until after the pandemic is well over. The restaurant wisely has an enormous plexiglass wall above the counter that separates the staff from the customers. They have also closed in-restaurant dining as well. Well done. While the restaurant conducts a booming Pick Up service business, there are absolutely no safety protocols in place for customers. Customers are scattered throughout the tiny store front while they await their order, with neither social distancing nor masks enforced. I thought I could get around that by ordering ahead. Nope. You get in the same long line that packs into the tiny storefront. In two instances, customers waiting in line moved outside, and asked newly arriving customers to wait outside as well to limit store front crowding. Belligerent customers refused, barging past the exterior line and cutting the line in a store front filled with 20 people. The staff refused to respond to requests for some sort of order and safety protocols. Never again. read more

This was a great convienient little Gold Mine, busy all the time, the Owner, Jimmy, used to manage and be there all 5he time. Then employees change as do Chefs. When this happens you have Mediocre food, and Rude front desk guy who answers the phone and didnt understand English well. They do their own Delivery, but mine was wrong and then of course the money wasnt right. So I did not eat anything from the Delivery, called this rude gent back and told him I was bring all the food back the next day and I wanted my money back. I get there, he doesnt want to do it but I persisted, he gave my money back along with telling me thats what I ordered. I doubt I will be ordering from them again. read more

China Star is a mostly take out restaurant that has a few tables in the lobby so you can eat your order there if you choose to. This is our first time dinning here so our experience may not actually be indicative overall. My pork fried rice was pretty dry and consisted of mostly rice.
