The food was great and the delivery guy was nice. It still is not like Boston, but in Ocala is the best that I have try.

I do like the food and the fact that they deliver is also great. The place is clean and the people dont have attitudes with you.

So far it's the best Chinese food I've ate in the Citra - Ocala area.

Yummy House in Ocala is our favorite Chinese restaurant without having to drive to Orlando. We live…read morein The Villages, unfortunately there just aren't any authentic ethnic restaurants in The Villages. There are wanna be Chinese restaurants in The Villages but the food is Chinese-American and I would not even eat there or recommend them. Yummy House in Ocala was actually referred to us by the owner of Square 1 Burgers in The Villages, another fantastic restaurant but that's another review. Yummy House offers a variety of authentic Chinese dishes, and they also offer Dim Sum on weekends. The first time my spouse and I went there, we couldn't believe the choices. We used to always drive to Peter's Kitchen in Orlando but it was over an hour to drive there for us. Ocala was much closer and to be quite honest just as good as the restaurant in Orlando. Every dish I've ordered there has been out of this world. Which makes it so hard for me to choose my entrée. I do have a favorite server at Yummy House. His name is Ming. So, when I dine at Yummy House, I always ask to be seated at Ming's area. I also golf in Ocala which friends, about 8 to 12 of us. After golf, we normally have lunch together too. So, Yummy House is at the top of the list for us. When we do, I call the restaurant ahead to make a reservation and ask them to assign Ming to us. Ming always provides excellent service and especially with me being Asian, he kind of knows what type of dish I like and when I order a dish he will normally make suggestions to add to the dish or cook a certain way that knows I would like. He also makes suggestions to each person in our group and sometimes he'll tell them to try a dish that he's sure they've never had before. He tries to take them out of their comfort zone. They've always been happy with his suggestion. The restaurant itself reminds me of some of the Chinese restaurants I've been to that is not a fast-food restaurant. Very authentic inside. They also offer a beer called Lucky Buddha. I think everyone likes to order the beef because the bottle is in the shape of Buddha. Yesterday, we met friends at Yummy House who are visiting from Boston. Unfortunately, Ming was off and another server took care of us. He was a good server but just not like Ming who really goes out of his way to talk to you, joke and laugh. However, he was not a bad server but he was just there to provide server and do his job. So, I cannot fault him for that. So overall the entire experience yesterday was good. I highly recommend Yummy House if you are near the Ocala area and are craving for authentic Chinese food.

Con's- Didn't like the fact that when placing an order online you're forced to tip. (I don't mind tipping but prefer to tip when I pick up my order) Upon walking in it didn't smell too good. I had to ask for condiments and utensils. (In my opinion if I've already tipped before picking up my togo order utensils should've definitely been packed. I understand that condiments shouldn't be in bag as some don't want/need them.) Pros - Food was good and flavorful. Portion size was mediocre and average. Maybe later we will go and try the dim sum but if the smell is there when we walk in we will walk right back out.

Within a few hours I was sick to my stomach on Friday night, all day on Saturday, and 3/4 of Sunday. That said, I didnt eat any other food. I drank water only. After my dry leaves on Sunday afternoon, I experienced 3 violent vomit episodes. Immediately my nausea went away. I looked into the toilet. All I saw were the food items that made up the China Wok General Tso chicken meal. I dont think I'll eat here anymore. For everyone else, eaters beware !

On food taste, I prefer FIrst Wok down the street. It is also average but they are a bit bolder on their flavors. But for sheer value, I don't think you can beat China Wok (see pictures). When I picked up the box, it felt heavy. After loading up a plate (pictured), there was still enough for 2 more meals. Sure, a lot of fried rice, which is not the best for a diabetic like me, but also an ample amount of the chicken. As it is only marginally different from First Wok, this would be the spot if you are seeking value. Food is good, but standard. The atmosphere is like any other Chinese takeout restaurant. Minimal tables and chairs and a larger counter to order. Cooks in the back manning the woks. The daughter of the owners served me and I was very impressed to have someone I would guess around 12 handling this duty so well. I talked to the parents for a bit about how impressed I was. We homeschooled and all of my daughters got honors in college, so I can really appreciate someone who takes time to teach their children.

First Wok is over 9 miles from my house and we were celebrating my son's birthday and I really just wanted thing's to be great. To our surprise everything was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious and everyone in the house had said that this was the best Chinese food in Ocala! I absolutely agree! We ordered a variety of different things and what is different with First Wok I believe is that they pay attention to detail. Each item had fabulous flavor, meat was tender, nothing was greasy, everything was just cooked to perfection. Some of the items we had were steamed dumplings, fried wontons, egg rolls, sesame chicken, pork fried rice, boneless pork spare ribs, shrimp with lobster sauce, Mongolian Beef! When I tell you that they got the order correct and that it came to my house hot and delicious with extra utensils and sauces it did! We will be ordering again! Thank you First Wok for everything!

Defiantly not ribs, maybe pork. 2) The meals were not fresh... speculation... the meals were made earlier in the day and re heated in the microwave. 3) General Tao's was not crispy or spicy... it specifically calls out that is a spicy dish. It was mushy (not fresh) and my dad was sprinkling red pepper flakes on it. Terrible. There is no way it was cooked fresh 4). Going back to the so called "boneless" ribs. My uncle was up all night( using the bathroom) due to making the mistake of consuming a considerable helping of this mis-represented swill. My uncle can eat almost anything, so this is not hyperbole ... 5) Last critic is minor, we order fried rice with all 5 meals, and got white rice with one of them and the fried rice had no egg...whatever. High lights? 1) surprisingly, the crab Rangoon was really good. My thought here is that there is no way to prepare it to be reheat it in a microwave and have a chance of passing it off as editable. Finally In conclusion 1) Do not eat here unless you want crab Rangoon) 2) Advise all your friends relatives and acquaintances to avoid this place like the plague. 3) reserve recommendations to eat here for political rivals, high school bullies, and other really mean people that you still talk to.
