Thai Basil Chicken with Fried Rice
    Beth Ann M.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Went here for the first time with friends the other day, about mid afternoon, so not too crowded, which was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a family owned restaurant and the servers/owner are super nice and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were able to sit where ever we wanted. It's booths mostly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They came to our table right away with crunchy noodles and duck sauce and took our drink orders. They have a nice selection of choices in the menu. You can do individual meals - such as Sesame chicken. And that comes with rice and is a large portion (plenty to take home). They also have combo meals, which 3 of us did. The combos come with choice of soup, steamed rice (or fried rice $1, lo mein noodles, etc.) a fried spring roll and your entrée of choice. It was a generous portion of food and everything was delicious! The sesame chicken was perfectly tender. The Thai chicken was lightly spicy and the shrimp and veggies had big, tender shrimp. I loved the wonton soup - it came piping hot and really warmed me up. I'd definitely go here again and try take out. Sitting down to eat was a nice treat and the food came super fast and was hot and fresh.

Excellent sit down Chinese place with very tasty meals served on real China and real forks and spoons. We had the crab Rangoon so crunchy and tasty, the General Tao's chicken that was seasoned well and not too spicy with tangy sauce and fried rice, also the shrimp fried rice was a generous portions had a wonderful flavor. All fresh made to order. The service was fast and friendly very attentive. Clean restaurant and normal Chinese decor. Can't wait to go back and try mire if their delicious food.

Great food! I really liked the sweet and sour pork and chicken. The soup they have is made right there.

My go-to Chinese place in the villages. Service is great, the food is great! The Thai chicken, and the beef and broccoli are my favourites!

Huge portions of Pad Thai. I asked for spicy and it was super. Biggest Pad Thai I've ever seen.

Date night! Finally , my wish to try Thai Ruby is granted. We went in a Monday night around 430 pm…read moreand were seated in the front window . Yay! I Iove the decor and lighting in here. Lights are low, dark wood, dark blue seating.... Totally different than other Village Square restaurants I've been too. In my opinion, the quietness inside is just wonderful for a change. We were served by Jack. My husband and I both appreciated his quiet friendly grace. He served a rather high maintenance table behind us with such patience, it was amazing to hear . No we weren't eavesdropping, they were being ridiculous. Anyhoo, we both got the spicy shrimp pad Thai and the spicy level was perfect. Hot enough to make me lightly sputter but just once. . My husband said, I could go back there again while I had already planned on what I'd like to try next time.

Food continues to be good at Thai Ruby. It's our only option for Thai in the Villages,…read moreunfortunately. My three star rating has to do with the ever increasing prices and ever decreasing menu options and ingredients. They used to have some good vegetarian appetizers like summer rolls, but those disappeared from the menu. Thai Ruby has done this ever since COVID and it's absurd. I was shocked to get two lunch items that jumped from the $18 menu price to $22 just for adding vegetables. That's over $50 for lunch, which is not ok in any reality. If we were people who didn't leave the bubble, I suppose we'd put up with this. Since we travel quite frequently, however, we will save our craving for Thai food for elsewhere. Why don't other Thai restaurants open somewhere close? There's definitely a market for them. If I choose to eat here, I'll limit it to their defined lunch items only.
