We tried China Chef just for a small order. We got won ton soup and an egg roll and we ordered Sesame chicken. We are new to Florida so trying to find good Chinese isn't easy. They have a few booths if you want to eat in. The food wasn't bad, it was ok. Would I order from here again, yes I'd try it again because it's close to our house. Five stars as compared to like restaurants .... This is a quick carry out, dine in Chinese strip mall type place. I ordered the spicy Singapore noodles ( extra spicy please) and a small wonton soup. I was shocked! The soup had wontons ! 5 big, meaty wontons ! Amazing. The rice noodle dish was very tasty and I was given a pretty big serving. Thank you! read more

First time here and l don't understand why there sweet and sour chicken has no pineapple green pepper & onion in it, it's plain boring, the egg rolls were very good, they don't seem to have any almond boneless chicken. They have no P F Chang's that l know of in Florida. They have the best Chinese food. read more

Tastes just like the Chinese food from Long Island, maybe even better. Egg rolls and wonton soup were amazing. More pricey than New York but at least it was tasty. Probably will split a meal with the wife next time. read more

This place primarily does takeout business. There are a couple of tables if you decide to eat there. It is bare-bones simple with counter service, and canned soft drinks. The menu is "Americanized" Chinese. So don't expect xio long bao, bird's next soup, or stir fried sweet pea leaves. Instead be prepared for items like hot and sour soup and sweet and sour chicken. We ordered hot and sour soup, chow fun combination, and vegetables in spicy garlic sauce. I liked the soup. It was flavorful and spicy. The consistency of the broth was thicker than I prefer. The combination chow fun noodle dish was okay, but was a little lean on meat, shrimp, and vegatables. The dish was large and enough to feed at least a couple of people. The vegetable dish was okay. The sauce was on the sweet side, and it was ms a little greasy. read more

Very nice people and nice little pick up place...but the food we ordered was not good. I had General Tao chicken and my husband ordered General Tao shrimp but got chicken also. He didn't send it back because he didn't want to make a fuss. Even though the sauce did have a very good flavor, I couldn't tell it was chicken...at first I thought it was all just breading and no meat, but cutting many pieces in half and looking closer, it appeared to be chopped or ground and formed into chunks? It certainly wasn't chicken breast chunks...and the consistency was mushy...very weird. I threw most of mine away. However the pork fried rice and spring roll that came with were both good. And their homemade lemonade was very good too. Maybe other dishes are better, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the General Tao chicken. read more

Blah!!! The worst Chinese food I have eaten in decades. Tasteless doesn't begin to describe the awful taste of this food. How do you mess up Chinese food? Believe me. This place found a way. The sauce simply had no flavor. The traffic in and out the door amazed me. Don't people realize they are getting wok crap? It is rare that a put a restaurant on blast but my cannons are firing with large shells on this one. Never, ever again. Even the Master Chef could not save China Chef. They are nice hard working folks but sadly , for us, it was well below what we used to get up north. You might like it, a fellow who was ordering said he loved their good food, just like he got in New York. So I don't like giving 2s to nice folks, but the text of a two is " Meh I have had better", which is accurate for us. read more

We gave the House Special Fried Rice a try on Christmas Day, and let's just say it was "special" in all the wrong ways--barely any meat or vegetables, just a lot of rice with an identity crisis. The Mongolian Beef? More like Mongolian Veggies with a beef cameo. The House Special Chicken Chow Mein wasn't much better. There was barely any chicken, and those fried flat noodles? Not for us. We prefer good old classic chow mein noodles, not ones that feel like they've been overachieving in a fryer. And what's with the rice? It's yellow, not brown. Are you auditioning for a new category of fried rice? Sorry to say, this just wasn't our cup of tea, and we won't be coming back. Maybe next time the "special" could be a little more... special. read more

I've been waiting patiently for a good Chinese restaurant to open in this area. I had the General Tso's chicken. It was average at best. The menu says it's spicy but it wasn't spicy at all. I ordered it because I was in the mood for some spice in my life! This is only their second day open, so I'll cut them some slack and try them again soon. My food wasn't bad, however, it wasn't great either. This is why I gave it 3 stars. I look forward to a better experience on my next visit. read more

Ordered bbq ribs with bone in today. I have ordered this many times but today the bbq sauce was thin, dripped over the other orders in the bag and the taste was off. The meat, which usually tastes fresh, did not today and we could not eat it. Staff is friendly and hardworking. I hope this gets fixed. read more

A few weeks ago, I had ordered takeout beef, broccoli in which when I got home, I could not chew the beef. I called back the establishment to tell them about this and after speaking to a lady first, then the alleged male manager he argued with me over the purchase and only offered after calling me back egg Rolls... You're talking $13-$14 dinner over three dollar eggrolls. The manager then stated I could come in at any time to receive the eggrolls which I attempted to do .....upon doing so, the female cashier/manager would not honor my request. She was very rude... I will never go back to this establishment and I strongly advise anyone else to enter at their own risk. read more

This is the closest Chinese restaurant to our new home. It's in the Magnolia Plaza in The Villages, near DeLuna. We've only been once so far and tried the rolls, fried rice and a few dishes. Everything was decent. Some things better than others. Our only complaint is that the fried rice is not prepared the way we're use to it. It's yellow and doesn't taste "fried", like most fried rice that has crispy bits, etc. We'll definitely give them another try and post photos of the menu and additional meals on our next visit. read more

We got take out last night and really enjoyed it. The shrimps were good sized. The serving size was large (I had leftovers for lunch today). The veggies were very fresh and delicious. I had white rice and my husband had fried rice. We weren't crazy about the fried rice (a little bland). We will definitely get take out from here again. Large menu. We had the lo mein chicken and pepper steak. There was hardly any chicken or pepper steak in the meals, although it was tasty. The fried rice was yellow...looked more like Rice-A-Roni. Maybe I'll try something else next time. read more
