I think it's open only on weekends. I really haven't spent more than a few seconds inside because dance clubs aren't my thing. (anyone who's seen me dance, trust me, is thankful for that). But it does get fairly packed. It's run by the coolest sports bar in town, Majerles, to which it is directly connected by a single door near the back. So, if I'm not mistaken, there are actually 6 different bars/lounges right on this corner of Washington and 2nd Street downtown. EDIT: From the photo I'm looking at above, it doesn't exactly look like a dance club. Maybe I was too inebriated whenever I visited this place to understand what the hell was going on. If anyone else stops by feel free to correct me.

That's not to say that it doesn't turn into one at some point (I have seen sports bars turn part of their establishment into clubs- Tequila Rain on Lansdowne comes to mind) but the Suns were in town and it was just the back room of Majerle's. If the front bar is packed I would suggest sticking your head around the corner to see if its busy in the back room, there may be more room for you to stand. I say may because they have set up a bunch of tables that are quite close to the bar so you may be lingering over someone while they eat. Its really actually better to watch the game in the front room of Majerles, IMO.

If you get anything other than a beer or a shot you won't even taste any alcohol. We actually sent a Gin & Tonic back and our waitress said "This is the third drink I've had to return" and she said she didn't want to return it because the person making the drinks was getting mad. Pretty sad when even the servers know how bad the drinks are. That said, we'll go back to enjoy the food and music but we're only getting shots or beer since it's pretty tough for even that bartender to mess up. It's always a fun atmosphere. They offer a good selection of beer, wine, and American cuisine (pizza, wings, salad, burgers). I also like that there is usually no cover charge since it's a restaurant/pub, though there are occasional cover charges for special events like New Year's Eve. The staff is very nice and attentive. Parking can be a challenge, as it's located in the CityScape development and the restaurant validates parking for up to two hours only.

Went for the first time as Sons of Legion were in town playing there. It's a small (sold out at…read more550), cozy venue. Clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. It's mostly standing room only with a few bleacher type seating options. I'm getting old, so standing the entire time has me thinking Celebrity Theater is the better venue for me. But, if you're good with standing it's a nice experience. Parking deck is conveniently located across the street and reasonably priced, the area is well lit and they have a full bar.

I attended the Devo concert on 4/13/26 at The Van Buren, and unfortunately, the experience was very…read moredisappointing. The venue felt significantly oversold, to the point where it was nearly impossible to move comfortably. From where I was standing, I couldn't see the stage at all, which made it hard to enjoy the performance I came to see. Beyond just being crowded, it felt unsafe. The number of people packed into the space seemed excessive, and I genuinely question whether it exceeded fire code limits. People were standing all the way back into the bar area. Navigating through the crowd was difficult, and there didn't appear to be enough room for people to exit easily if needed. I've been to this venue since its 2017 opening and had much better experiences, but this event felt poorly managed. I hope they take crowd capacity and guest safety more seriously in the future.
