I think it's open only on weekends. I really haven't spent more than a few seconds inside because dance clubs aren't my thing. (anyone who's seen me dance, trust me, is thankful for that). But it does get fairly packed. It's run by the coolest sports bar in town, Majerles, to which it is directly connected by a single door near the back. So, if I'm not mistaken, there are actually 6 different bars/lounges right on this corner of Washington and 2nd Street downtown. EDIT: From the photo I'm looking at above, it doesn't exactly look like a dance club. Maybe I was too inebriated whenever I visited this place to understand what the hell was going on. That's not to say that it doesn't turn into one at some point (I have seen sports bars turn part of their establishment into clubs- Tequila Rain on Lansdowne comes to mind) but the Suns were in town and it was just the back room of Majerle's. If the front bar is packed I would suggest sticking your head around the corner to see if its busy in the back room, there may be more room for you to stand. I say may because they have set up a bunch of tables that are quite close to the bar so you may be lingering over someone while they eat. Its really actually better to watch the game in the front room of Majerles, IMO.

I already know this post will be taken down by management as they cannot accept criticism. 1) They have started to implement the use of an AI program even after excessive backlash from the community, going so far as to double down and gaslight the community at large. 2) They have consistently been unprofessional when it comes to criticism or negative feedback of the bar. They dirty delete comments, reviews, and block people for speaking out. 3) They do not have any tact for dealing with customer relations. The community continues to feel unheard and many no longer feel safe being customers in fear of retaliation from a bad experience or any possible feedback. This is not how a business should be run. I cannot in good conscience continue to support the bar. I am highly disappointed will not be returning until things change.

Line dancing at Charlie's Phoenix on Thursdays and Saturdays has quickly become the highlight of my…read moreweek. The energy, fun, and sense of community keep me coming back every time. When I first started, I had zero line dancing experience and was pretty nervous, but the free lessons are incredibly helpful. The instructors make everything feel approachable and fun. After just a few months, I'm now able to jump in and dance to many of the songs, which feels like such a win. What really makes Charlie's special, though, is the people. The veteran line dancers are welcoming, encouraging, and genuinely happy to help newcomers feel included. It never feels intimidating, just supportive and fun. I'm grateful that Charlie's has introduced me to an amazing new group of friends, and the venue itself couldn't be better for it. I also want to add that the drinks are reasonably priced and some nights theres also tacos.

Went for the first time as Sons of Legion were in town playing there. It's a small (sold out at…read more550), cozy venue. Clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. It's mostly standing room only with a few bleacher type seating options. I'm getting old, so standing the entire time has me thinking Celebrity Theater is the better venue for me. But, if you're good with standing it's a nice experience. Parking deck is conveniently located across the street and reasonably priced, the area is well lit and they have a full bar.
