Shrimp boil with special sauce, mild. Rice French fries Fried whiting with tartar sauce
    Sheila G.

My friend originally ordered Hibachi from this restaurant on Thanksgiving, her food looked good so I decided to give it a try over the weekend. I ordered directly from the website so all money can go to them instead of a third party service. Fried whiting - I got lemon pepper flavor but honestly I did not taste it at all, the fish was good regardless. I did not enjoy the tartar sauce though it was too sweet for me. Fries - if crinkle fries are available on a menu you bet I will be ordering that! Although they had no seasoning, I just dip them into some ketchup and all good. Shrimp boil - the shrimp was cooked perfectly the sauce here is 10 out of 10. A nice portion of potatoes and corn, I opted out of the egg that is included. I will definitely be ordering more of this. Rice - you would think for an Asian Spot they wouldn't get this wrong, but the rice was not good. It kind of felt like it was old, I only ate a little bit and tossed the rest. Iced tea - if you are from the East Coast you know this is how iced tea is served at Chinese spots here, and I absolutely love it.

I recommend this restaurant to any seafood lover. Go and watch the professional chef while preparing your food. This is a family business.

I was in the mood for shrimp and found this spot. I called in my order of the lunch special headless shrimp with cajun medium spice. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and waited while the lady took another order. I paid $14.93 and left. When I got in I ate and they included fried rice. The shrimp was good but spicy. If that's medium spice I wouldn't want to taste hot spice. All in all I had a good experience.

Tip: when you order online the prices are higher than if you order at the restaurant in person!!!

Nice to have a no-frills take out seafood boil place that's decently priced. We got a pound each of green mussels in garlic sauce, crawfish in Cajun sauce, and head-on shrimp with mild special sauce. The sauces were a little too salty for me, but nothing a little white rice couldn't cut. Each bag contained a boiled egg, potato and corn. The seafood came nicely packaged in layers of heavy duty plastic bags. The chicken tenders were different but tasty. They were breaded instead of battered and had a hint five spice like Chinese takeout chicken wings. Delivery only took 20 minutes from the time we ordered.

Just ordered delivery for the first time. Only took 20 minutes which is awesome! We ordered buffalo wings and the shrimp boil. The wings are big and juicy, but was not the type of buffalo sauce we were hoping it would be. It was definitely on the sweet side, so if that's your thing-- totally get go for it! The shrimp boil had great flavor to the Cajun sauce. They didn't ask what type of heat I wanted, but it seemed like mild. Super tasty! The shrimps were decent size, but the majority of them were overcooked so that was a little disappointing (only reason for docking a star) Happy it came with two corns and two potatoes. Most places in the area charge you extra for that, so def great bang for your buck! I would try it again and just hope it's not overcooked. We already talked about what we would order next, so yup--We liked it enough to try other things on the menu. You should try it too!

The place was packed, and we were with a baby, but luckily got a table pretty quickly. The menu has great combo options where you can mix crab, shrimp, lobster, and more--all in one. TBH, that's the way to go instead of ordering everything separately. We ordered two Combo F along with shrimp fried rice and Cajun chicken fried rice. Combo F comes with Snow crab legs (1/2 lb), lobster tail, shrimp (1/2 lb), Potatoes (2 pc), Corn (1/2) Now comes the fun part... The seafood arrives in a plastic bag with your choice of sauce (Cajun, Garlic Butter, lemon pepper, Old Bay, Island style). They shake it all up, and then it's on you to dive in. You're given gloves, crackers, and tools to break open crab legs and lobster shells. Basically It's messy--but its beautiful mess ..lol I started off all proper with gloves and tools, but after some point, I ditched the gloves because it was just easier to enjoy the food that way. The Cajun sauce was absolutely delicious--rich, spicy, and full of flavor. I even ordered plain rice just to mix it with the leftover gravy... and wow, that was a amazing. Highly recommend trying that! Everything is essentially boiled seafood tossed in sauce, so don't expect anything grilled or crispy--it's all about the flavors and experience. The fried rice was tasty too, though the rice itself was a bit on the harder side. This isn't just a meal--it's an experience. Perfect for going out with friends, getting messy, and enjoying good seafood together.

At a Thai spot, I expect to see Thai people. At a Mexican spot, I expect to see Mexicans. You get the picture. So at this Haitian restaurant, there are always Haitians enjoying the food -- which tells you everything you need to know. If you're looking for an upscale yet still authentic Haitian restaurant, this is it. No matter what you order, they always start you off with a soup that's hot, rich, and flavorful. I usually begin with the Haitian caviar and smoked fish empanadas, then move on to either the Saveur Creole goat or the red snapper -- always with extra gravy, because I can't resist pouring it over their black rice (don't judge me). It's BYOB, so bring your drink of choice or grab something from the shop right next door. Another thing I love is that the owner, Robert, is usually there. He'll stop by your table, talk with you, and make the meal feel like a real experience. And if you admire the artwork on the walls -- he painted all of it himself. If you go, tell him I sent you... maybe then he'll finally sell me one.

( FYI it's a great idea bc your guest just walk up place their order and receive hot food. It's paid for by the person having the party so no money is exchanged and there's no cleanup.) I tried several different dishes that were very good. My favorite thing I ate was The Fried Chicken, Bacon and Cheddar Sandwich. My Chicken was hot and had a good coating on it which made it very crispy. It wasn't greasy, and had just the right seasonings. It was served on a french baguette with lettuce, tomato, pickles and a nice remoulade sauce I tried their Shrimp n Grits. The grits were creamy, and the shrimp had a nice spice but not too spicy. The twist was a wonderful accompaniment of Andouille sausage., which had a nice spice. This added another layer of flavor for an extra punch. The next thing I tried was the wings. There were several different kinds and boy were they good. Just the right amount of herbs and spices. The sauces was a bit messy being in a costume for the Halloween Party , but the flavors were outstanding.... The last thing I tried was The Jambalaya. The rice was moist and all the flavors came together to make a wonderful dish. Everyone was extremely happy and enjoyed all the food. I was full, or I would've tried more dishes. If you see TFQ Food Truck I would recommend giving them a try.

I've had me some soul food in Mississippi and 'Bama, though at a fraction of the price you get up North. Look, it's a Montclair thing. Pluses: Black owned restaurant serving cultural staples, plus foods for people who don't want Southern. Ambiance featured soul music, and at one point was playing Shaft! I can dig it. You're not left wanting for food quantity or quality. Plenty of shrimp in the grits, for example. Server was very pleasant to talk to with a little Southern twang to her voice. Why not five stars: Flavor needs deepening. For example, in the South I'm used to seeing okra chopped and breaded before being fried. Maybe more oily that way, more carbs... but more flavor as a result. I had the pulled chicken mac, which was a bit smaller of a dish overall (a bit intentional on my part) - and while the cheese flavors run deep, the meat did not. Shrimp and grits, I took a quick sample of my friend's grits and... I bet you can guess my finding there. Still, a very nice change from the usual Northern selection of foods. I would not hesitate to say Sweet T's is authentic and a nice visit if you're in town. You'll be paying a pretty penny wherever you eat, so you can tag this one on your list.

Sharky's is a local neighborhood spot with a very similar vibe to Jimmy Geez in North Haledon. There's only street parking available since they don't have a dedicated parking lot. We ordered the 5pc boneless wings with Honey BBQ sauce and another 5pc order of the boneless wings with the Boom Boom sauce. The tenders were massive, really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I preferred the Honey BBQ sauce over the Boom Boom sauce since I'm not a huge fan of spice. We also tried the cheeseburger sliders and the pulled pork sliders. The pulled pork sliders were by far my favorite dish. The slider buns were soft and fresh, the BBQ sauce was the perfect amount of sweetness, and the pork was very tender.
