GOODNESS, I THOUGHT this would be a great bar to get a martini. I ordered an, "Espresso Martini w vanilla vodka, a splash of Baileys and rocks on the side." I order this drink, this exact way, often. Bartender, (whom I believe was Sam) states they have NO vanilla vodka and then returns to say they have NO Baileys. Then she delivers my martini w/ a separate glass of ice. wtf?! Drink was acceptable but I guess I should've left and spent my $ elsewhere. I also could've been more specific and asked for DIRTY rocks on the side. I had a build your own pizza and my wife had a pepperoni and cheese calzone. If you like pepperoni the calzone had it, we couldn't eat it all and pulled about half of it out. The taste was good. Came here for dinner with a friend and we sat inside. The lighting is a bit dim inside. We got two drinks, freedom 55 (coconut rum with Passionfruit liqueur and pineapple juice)and a mocktail: cruel summer (lavender lemon soda). Service was okay we didn't have any issues. I enjoyed the freedom 55, it was good! We got the Lucy sharing plate for appetizers and it came with fried calamari, Mac and cheese ball, flat bread with some sauce. We came here on a trip to Toronto with our family of four. They accommodated Picky 9 with buttered noodles. Mr. 13 went out on a limb with a carbonara. He enjoyed it. I had the spaghetti bolognese, and hubs had the chicken parmesan. Hubs loved his glass of Cabernet. I had a Bourbon Amaretto Sour. It was interesting! It wasn't bad, but it certainly was sour. They had an extensive drink menu. We ate on the rooftop patio. It was a gorgeous early fall day. It was absolutely perfect. Service was great. The building is older so there are lots of stairs and nooks and crannies. It reminded me of many restaurants in Europe. Next time we're in Toronto, we'll keep Hey Lucy in mind! read more

We had 2 nights in Toronto, and both nights we came here:) Three blocks from our hotel, it met our needs. This restaurant/bar is bigger than it looks from the street due to its length, and an upstairs patio! which we discovered the 2nd night. The pizzas were good (meat lovers and build your your own) - good crust and sauce for this New Yorker:). The pepperoni calzone was very small, but good flavor as well. The chicken pesto panini was good too, and the fries were good enough. It was martini night ($6.99), and I tried the Freedom 55(?) - I ordered it for the passion fruit liquor, but it mostly tasted like the pineapple juice base. I would try something different I were to do it again. Night 2 I got the salad because I craved it after seeing someone's order the night before, and I don't get enough veges in vacation. The salad looked amazing, and tasted fine although I could've done with fewer bitter leaves. I added shrimp, and it came 4 medium shrimp, at about $2 each- so a bit much. It happened to be wine night, so I got a glass ($6.99) of Malbec which is one of my favs. The ambience was the star, both inside on night 1, and outside on night 2. read more

A bar/cafe on King west that serves up cafe in an exotic style. Don't let the thin fasade trick you, the bar/cafe is very long and can fit alot of people. Great for casual meetups of up to 4 people. My partner and I had the Winterlicious 23 menu. The items were decent for the cost, but some items were better than others. So make sure you research what you make your order. Calamari - A classic deep fried calamari served with a side of mayo and lemon. Mayo was rather simple and first couple bites were good. After a while, the addition of mayo go too heavy, I feel that I would had prefered some spicy mayo that would have helped cut some of that heaviness. Butternut squash soup - Another classic app, it was creamy, savoury goodness. Wish there was more butternut squash flavour or less creamyness to it. Chicken primavera pasta - This pasta was dissapointing. Chicken breast slices were over cooked. Pasta flavour was bland and seasoning didn't contribute anything to the dish. Would not recommend. Prosciutto pizza - Classic pesto based pizza with prosciutto on top. Would get again and definetly recommend. Tartufo - A complex chocolate gelato with chocolate sauce. Very chocolaty and definetly geared for the chocolate loved. It was too rich for me and I looked to the supplied whipped cream to try and balance out the flavour. Dulce de Leche Fried Cheesecake - A deep fried spring roll with creamcheese filling. this was super heavy and I would not recommend. Overall, felt that items were too heavy and rich. Stopped here for much needed food after just flying into Toronto and going straight to a Blue Jays game! We sat on the rooftop patio, it was so cute up there. They have a great menu, fairly average priced, I could have ordered so many things. We went with the wood fired pizzas, I had the sausage supreme and he had the BBQ chicken. The last time I went, I got a white bread sandwich and the uncaring waitress told me that it was a panini. She couldn't care less when I tried to explain what a panini looks like. Literally dug through my salad to see if I could find more. Nope. I really think they have a problem with giving up their goat cheese. I had a smear of cheese on fillo pastry. We stopped Hey Lucy on the 3rd day of our vacation to Toronto. There were 3 of us and it helped that they offer gluten-free options for one of the people in our party. The bus we caught dropped us off right in front and there was not much of a wait for a table. We were seated at the bar and the bartender was very helpful. I think she could tell we were tourist due to the accents that everyone said we had. I decided to get the Butternut Squash Ravioli that came with Lucy's tomato sauce, goat cheese, spicy pecans & fresh basil. Normally I tend to 86 spicy items, but I actually liked the pecans. I also ordered the Mango Tango drink and I am not gonna lie it was G R E A T. To go to the washroom (bathroom, another tell tell sign that I was a tourist) you had to go downstairs and there were only 2 stalls and not enough space to move around. The restaurant was empty when we first arrived and seemed to be opening up. But over the course of the meal the whole waitstaff kept rapidly changing, I think we had three or four different waitresses over the course of less than an hour. It was also disorganized, the first waitress didn't write down our order when she took it, and some items we ordered initially were not put in till we got our food and noticed they were missing. Then half way through our meal the manager in a nearly empty restaurant, choose to sit down a waitress and fire her right in front of us. It was extremely awkward for both us and the waitress who was clearly upset. The food itself was good enough, but the overall atmosphere was very strange. The waitstaff were nice, but seemed very disorganized. The owner was very unprofessional firing the waitress in front of us and besides that just seemed to wander around. Went to downtown since the weather was nice and was meeting up with some friends from college. My one friend recommended this restaurant since it had a nice patio and good food... or so I've been told. The patio is an open rooftop and there isn't much of a view. Nonetheless it's very nice during good weather. If you stay on the patio, you better bring your running shoes if you plan on using the washroom. It's 2 flights of stairs down to the basement. I'd say the food is just okay. The best dish is the calamari. Definitely cooked well and delicious. The pizza though is overly chewy and seemed as if the dough was a bit undercooked. Sauce is mostly okay but tastes like plain canned tomato sauce. The gelato dessert was not worth it at all. Freezer burnt and not smooth. It was very chunky. Last night we visited Hey Lucy for late night drinks and a bite to eat. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance and friendly employees. We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. I was really excited to see kombucha on the menu, since I have never seen it for sale at a bar before. (Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage that becomes carbonated as it ferments. It's really bubbly and tastes delicious). I ordered both the orange oolong flavour and the lemon ginger. I found the orange oolong to be a little less plain compared to the lemon ginger one. My friend order a cherry bourbon martini and she absolutely loved it. In fact, she enjoyed it so much, she ended up ordering three more. And yes, she took a taxi home. Hehe. We are always safe. :) I ordered the grilled calamari and it was really good. The calamari was served with artichokes, which made this appetizer extra special. I love artichokes so it was a treat to get to enjoy this. My friend ordered a sandwich and fries and she really enjoyed her dish. Both of us had not been to Hey Lucy in about ten years and we are glad we stopped in for our late night snack. It's definitely worth checking out. read more

2.5/5 Went to Hey Lucy on a Friday night around 8pm with two other people. We knew it would be tricky to find a table in this area on a Friday but luckily were able to snag a seat at Hey Lucy. We ordered nachos for the table and while they looked normal on paper, they were a bit strange. They came with olives, mozzarella cheese, zucchini (which we said to remove), marinara, tomatoes, peppers, onions. It was almost like an Italian style nachos. The marinara was definitely a weird dip to pair with nachos but it did also come with sour cream so that was good. For my main I got a salad that came with a pastry filled with goat cheese. When it arrived at the table I was so impressed because it was huge but I realized when I started eating that it was lacking flavour since there wasn't much dressing or toppings. The other two mains ordered at the table were pasta dishes and those were better. We also got a pitcher of sangria for the table which was refreshing and delicious. Overall I don't think I'd return to this restaurant, it was sort of away from all the crowd and excitement normally on King St and a lot quieter than I was hoping. read more

I was disappointed with the dish when it comes with a price tag of $9.75 Grilled pork chop I really enjoyed the sides and the plating. While the pork chop is well seasoned, it is a bit on the dry side and it takes me quite some time to chew it through. Most of the time I just use water to flush it down. There is much improvement needed for their main dish. Atlantic salmon fillet Nice plating and delicious side vegetables however the salmon is a bit dry. I wouldn't say it is bad however it wasn't great enough for me to pay $19.25 for it. Overall, I was quite disappointed with this. The restaurant is quite small and so were the tables. Service was pretty fast except the time it took for our food to arrive. I ordered the pepperoni and mozzarella calzone with a caesar side salad. My sister ordered the rose chicken fusilli with a caesar side salad. My boyfriend ordered the grill flatiron steak and cheese wrap with a side house salad. Food tasted pretty good and it came out fresh and hot! We were all able to finish our entire portion and were happily full. I would definitely come visit again to try something else plus it's pretty cheap for a restaurant on King Street. However, I wish they had bigger tables because the table for the three of us was pretty small. But then again the restaurant is small so it makes sense. read more
