What an incredible meal at Hersh's. While the check-in process and service were incredibly slow (and almost felt like we were being skipped or "overlooked"), the whole meal was delicious and perfect. The cocktails and wine selections were amazing and the Stracciatella appetizer was the star of the show. The white pizza and bolognese-like pasta dish were full of so much flavor and perfect for sharing. I was pleasantly surprised and content after this meal and it was the perfect way to start a fun, girls night!

Chimichurri steak, and Autumn Salad

This place was amazing. Came here with a friend. I got an aperol spritz that was good with a salad and the chimichurri steak. The servers were very nice! They have an outside little patio area (close to the street) that has fans for the spring and summertime as well as a low lit inside that gives a nice ambience. They mentioned the pizza also being a local favorite. Definitely come check this spot out !

Tomato crostini

A lovely restaurant in Federal Hill with lots of street parking nearby. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Everything my party had to eat was absolutely delicious. They make their pastas and pizza dough in house. We had the summer tomato crostini and I had the Fungo Rossi pizza. The crust was fluffy and crunchy all at the same time. I had dessert also - I forgot the name of the mango cream and almond shortcake. Phenomenal service as well! Our server checked in often and our water supply was always well stocked! I forgot to mention the pecorino was refreshing!

Girl Dinner The J.D. Salinger Salad + Thrice-cooked truffle fries. We sat at the bar, service was quick, ambiance was lovely, and the garlic was STRONG (in the best way). Perfect pit stop to kick off girls night because thanks to these dishes, we can ward off the men with our breath.

Awesome food and wonderful, attentive service. Even dishes you have eaten a thousand times before at a thousand different places can be made with a delightful twist .. and that was our experience at Hersh's .. not to mention we did not have a reservation and the owner was kind enough to make space for us inspite of being over booked.. lovely interiors and patio.as well!! I'm not a local but would love to visit again when I'm in town ..

Finally! I've been waiting for what seems like forever to try Hersh's and it did not disappoint. Before we begin, you should always shoot to have a reservation before trying your luck with a walk in. Inside is beautiful but it is not a big spot. Service and the cocktails were great, but the food totally stole the show. The pizza is amazing and all the other entrees that passed our table looked delicious too. Hersh's had great wine selection and the Something Green cocktail was delightful. Be sure to give it a try before they close for the season!

Espresso Martini & Focaccia

I came to Hershey's to get an espresso martini and that was amazing! They have a later happy hour (till 7) so I was also able to get a tasty Paloma and some focaccia. It wasn't really busy for a Friday & I loved the low lights!

I haven't been to Hersh's in about 5 years due to consistently bad service. Tried it again for a friends birthday and while there were some improvements, it's clear some training is still needed and some issues are unresolved. For what it's worth, at 5pm on a Friday it was completely empty for about an hour. No one there for happy hour? Not a good sign in Baltimore. We split the stracciatella, which was actually incredible and I would highly recommend. For pizzas - we split a Salami Mommy and an Il pagliacci. Both were also good. The service was strange for how empty they were. I arrived about 30 min before my friends and simply asked if I could sit at a table outside with a drink while I waited. Then, when they arrived, we'd all move inside to our previously reversed table. They seemed baffled and noted there were reservations outside at the tables for right now. Again, restaurant is empty. They said they would check. Miraculously they were able to find a table that no one would be seated at for the next 30 min. As I sat for 30 min alone, not one single person came to sit outside. Why the confusion? Not sure. Truly the reason for the mediocre review is the petty, sneaky cake cutting fee. We brought a small cake. I have no problem with a cake cutting fee if there's a large party with a large cake as it takes time to do so. But even then, let the table know when you offer. We had THREE people and the server offered to cut the cake (didn't note there was a cake cutting fee... why?) and didn't even cut the whole cake!!! It was a small Bundt cake and he cut 3 pieces and left the rest whole. I thought he was being nice until I got a $7 charge for that. For what? Then the waitress noted they usually give you a complimentary piece of cake for your bday - well we brought our own so she didn't, which is fine, but at least wave the already ridiculous cake cutting fee! So we paid $7 for no free piece of cake and our whole cake was not cut. It's just not a way to treat people. Maybe it will be another 5 years until I return...

Food is amazing. Highly recommend the L' Ari B pizza. Meatballs, truffle fries, and crunch salad are all also wonderful. Management is very kind and friendly, treated us very well with amazing hospitality. Servers were also great. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get. Lovely warm lighting inside that is not overpowering. Calm and lovely ambience inside, perfect for a special date night if you want something nice but not too crazy. Was worried about pizza portion size, but it ended up being a nice portion. Definitely believe that you should go try this place out for yourself. I can see why it has been rated and regarded so highly.

Such a cute small place to have a good meal and great service. Our waiter was amazing and friendly, as well as the other employees. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. The food was amazing and a nice change in style from the regular. Even for just apps and drinks, this is a great place to hit up!

The servers were so attentive and nice! The place was cute, I appreciated the touch of being our table over a lit tea candle for the ambiance. Now the food. It tasted so fresh! I wouldn't expect lemon on pizza would sound good but my mind was changed! We also ordered the crab fettuccine. It had a decent amount of crab and the noodles were very tasty. The dessert was also very light and so good. It had almonds on it and olive oil ice cream that was to die for! Can't wait to go back!

Solid pizza with a good vibe! Overall, really enjoyed the pizza I got -- had mushrooms and arugula and was a little spicy! We went for happy hour so I got the $7 g&t which was solid! The outdoor patio area was very cute and I was able to bring my dog! Overall, a nice, classy pizza place if you're in the area. Parking was easy to find. Of note, I've heard the pasta portions are relatively small!

Awesome Raspberry Beret (raspberry pudding, olive oil ice cream, and crunchy chocolate flakes).

Also ordered a Caesar salad which unfortunately did not come (again, the delivery had other issues so I don't think it was the fault of the restaurant). My bf loved the cheese ravioli. He thought the filling was tasty and enjoyed the sauce. Their red sauce is a more chunky sauce with onions which I did not taste because I'm not a fan, but he would get it again. I'm still looking for a smooth sauce for some chicken parm, but no worries since the menu here has plenty of different sauce options! I enjoyed the chicken francese. The chicken was very tender and it was a generous portion. I felt it could have used a bit more flavor, but the sauce was a nice consistency and the linguine was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the complimentary rolls that came with the meal. Overall, I enjoyed this spot and will try more items in the future!

Driving down York Road one day I decided let me finally make a pit stop into Baltoz. An open space counter to see some of the magic in the kitchen, no frills to the restaurant, but a warm and inviting atmosphere for hanging out and enjoying a delicious pizza for dinner. All of the baked goods displayed on the counter entice you to indulge in a sweet treat before ordering a pizza. My first visit I just settled on some cookies and a jalapeno cheddar bagel, since I was on my way elsewhere for dinner. But let me tell you how the chocolate chip cookie instantly became one of my favorite bakery cookies. And the bagel was decadent for my morning breakfast, covered in cheddar cheese with those crispy edges that bake at the base of the bagel. On my second visit I settled on their corn pizza since it was a different flavor combination, and it tasted like a slice of summer. Corn, basil, and ricotta, and you can't go wrong. And the staff has always been really pleasant with each visit. I'm a sucker for baked goods and a wood-fire pizza and I can say Baltoz has stolen my heart. Forno is officially one of those spots I will make the drive for. This was my second visit, and yes, I came all the way from Gaithersburg because the food is THAT good. It's a super cozy, family-owned, hole-in-the-wall Italian spot with such a warm, homey vibe. Nothing overly fancy or pretentious, just really good food, good wine, and the kind of atmosphere where you can settle in and stay awhile. The MUST order for me is the Arrosticini -- marinated lamb skewers grilled with lemon and EVOO and served with arugula. These are authentic Italian-style lamb skewers, and I'm telling you, you do not find these everywhere. They were so good we ordered TWO rounds. I almost went for a Third but they were sold out...no shame in my game. The fried artichokes were another standout, especially with the creamy cacio e pepe sauce. That sauce was so good I was dipping everything in it by the end of the meal. We also shared the meatballs, prosciutto burrata salad, and the Calabrian Sweet & Spicy pizza which is has fig jam, Calabrian chili, mozzarella, brie, and balsamic glaze. That sweet, spicy, creamy combo on the pizza was so good. We split a bottle of wine too, and I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable some of the bottle prices were. Sam took care of us and was incredibly personable and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We ended up lounging on the couch, sipping wine, eating amazing Italian food, and just vibing. Honestly, such a good date-night or catch-up-with-friends kind of spot.
