I ordered custom cookies for my friends birthday with a baby yoda & star wars theme and the result was amazing! I found HERS Bakery on yelp and I worked with Melanie. She was really responsive and the cookies came out so cute! I requested delivery for additional $10 and Melanie provided confirmation of drop off. She also sent me a picture of the cookies and invoice through email. I am very pleased with my order. Would recommend! read more

I could not love HERS bakery anymore than I do! They went above and beyond for my son's first birthday party. Melanie was a dream to communicate with and everything was so creative and went perfectly with our theme. She brought her own adorable platters, set everything up and I didn't have to worry about a single thing. The cookies, cake pops and donuts were all gone by the end of our party! I will most definitely be only using HERS for all of our dessert needs from here on out! read more

The pastries were very delicious. I got a carrot cake perfect size and great flavor. We also got a giant soft chocolate chip cookie and a raspberry scone. I also got a brown sugar latte iced with oat milk and it was just the right thing to get my day going. My friend got a hot cookie butter latte she enjoyed. Service was quick and easy, the one who helped us was very nice and got our drinks out in a timely manner. They also have a patio where you can sit and enjoy your coffee with a beautiful mural. Exceptional bakery! For years, HERS Bakery has designed and baked the desserts for our milestones. Not only are the cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, chocolate pretzels, brownies and Rice Krispies treats so delicious, they are works of art! Bad cake, my wife got one for Father's Day this year. Came out dry. I'm not really a cake person but I can tell the difference between a good cake and a bad one. Super disappointed unfortunately. Got a cake for my daughters 3rd bday. While it looked super nice, the taste was not. Asked for fresh whipped cream and strawberries on the inside got a thick layer of frosting and strawberries. Everyone at the party took a bite and threw it away. Looked good, taste was bad and dry. Got a lot of compliments on how it looked and was designed, but unfortunately was tossed away as soon as they took a bite. Really unhappy with that due to the fact that the cake was pretty pricey. Asked for cream on the inside and got plain old thick layered frosting. Won't be coming back. Highly recommend this place! Melanie was super responsive over text and was able to make us some cupcakes for our child's birthday party. They were well-made, delicious and looked just like the inspo photo we had sent her. She was also able to rent us a cake stand - and she had a huge variety. AMAZING AMAZING!!!! Called the Bakery and no one picked up but not long after received a text message apologizing for no one answering the phone and told me they could text me instead! This was great because we were able to communicate fast, I was able to tell her what I needed, how many and even text her a picture of what I had in mind. She gave me the price and couple days later received an invoice. I ordered 24 custom cake pops that came out to $3.50 each total $84.00. She delivered the day I needed the cake pops and was even early! (Just half hour due to rain she was being safe than sorry) Cake pops came out exactly like I wanted and everyone loved them at the party. They were also SOOOOOOOO good. Sooo where do I begin?? It was my moms Birthday and yes, there was a zero on the end. A big deal! So, we wanted to do something extra cool for her. So we rented a penthouse and called HERS Bakery to make her a designer cake. It came out marvelous!! My mother went on and on about how beautiful it was, and it tasted fabulous! We ordered a Chanel cake with whip cream and fresh strawberries... so delicious! I'd say, if you want a delicious designer cake, for a reasonable price, give HERS Bakery a call. The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!

Australian culinary influencer and Zumbo's Just Desserts winner Catherine Zhang is the head chef and you'll see videos playing inside the shop of her preparing the desserts. It's truly beautiful art and you're paying for it accordingly with prices varying from $13-15 for each dessert or more for bigger cake items. You can order easily on their touch screens which is nice for looking at all of the available options. I've tried two of the Petit Gateau (tiny cakes) - the My Man Go (Fresh mango, hazelnut praline, mango mousse) and the Berry3 (Strawberry coulis, pistachio praline, raspberry mousse, crimson velvet). In addition to being so darn beautiful, the flavor was just phenomenal. I loved both but slightly preferred the cubically adorable berry cake's taste. For me, it's the perfect size but you def need a spoon to break into the outer shell. Or if you want that TikTok/Instagram video biting into it, that works too. They also have drinks ranging from coffees to matchas to milk teas to tonics and teas ~ truly something to cover everyone's palate for imbibing. Evenings and weekends can get very busy so go on off hours or right at opening if you can. They have their own free parking just down the block from the storefront at 2850 W 7th St or you can try to find a slim pickens' street spot. Tu Cha is such a fan favorite for photos when friends are in town, but the prices are just a tad steep to be an everyday kind of spot.

- Parking is very difficult as it is a residential area. Streets are small and not easy to navigate. - The pastry selection in store was small: A couple pieces of bread. A handful of cookies, not made fresh and leftover from a previous event. *These were themed cookies posted publicly on their social media. Sold at full price, despite being at least 2 days old. Cookies are not heat sealed for freshness. - Hours are limited. Open late morning & closed by the afternoon. This bakery seems to specialize in custom orders. However ways to communicate with them are too limited. Emails get ignored, and their phone isn't answered. Not recommended, unless there's literally no other choice. read more

I ordered a cake for my son's 3rd birthday, and it turned out incredible. It was a realistic green recycling truck with the cutest little details. The craftsmanship was unbelievable, and everyone at the party couldn't stop talking about it. The best part is that it tasted just as amazing as it looked. His customer service and his attention to detail were outstanding! Even after he sold it to a family member, I continued buying my cakes there, as it's been a family tradition for decades. Birthdays, graduations, baby showers, congratulations cakes, and a few holidays throughout the year, we get our cakes here and would always send business their way. But, throughout the years after Tom left, we noticed the quality and quantity not only of their customer service, but also their cakes decline. The sponge got thinner and thinner, as the price steadily continued going up. Basically half the sponge for double the price, but the flavor we all had gotten accustomed to was still the same so we continued buying cakes there. Then a few years back we noticed even the favor and the most basic of decorations started to decline. A basic cake that once had a trim and a few colored flowers, were no longer. "Who wants an all white buttercream cake?? That looks unfinished??" Cakes are purchased for celebration, and instead they are now, with no effort AT ALL just providing these cakes with no decoration at all. Plain, with chocolate writing, that's it that's all. Nowadays, I can get a tastier, better decorated cake at Walmart, and for a 3rd of the price! They have completely destroyed Tom's legacy! And if that's not bad enough, the customer service is now horrendous! I went in to pick up a cake; When I arrived, I asked if the cake was ready as the ones in the fridge didn't look finished or like anything I had ordered. The young lady at the counter tells me it's ready and proceeded to pack up the most hideous plain cake I've ever seen. I paused and asked her, why wasn't it done as ordered? I stated for it to be done in blue (as it's always been done) blue writing, blue, trim, a few blue flowers, and of course the writing (a pretty basic and standard cake, nothing fancy). She looks at a note and tells me "well, we can fix the writing but it's going to look ugly" no apology for their mistake, just this look on her face, like it bothered her that it was brought to her attention. Then I showed her photos of previous purchased cakes (from there) and she stated well, I've never seen you here... well, I hadn't seen her either, still doesn't change the fact that... 1. It was done wrong and the cake was not what I had ordered... 2. That she had a horrible attitude. People like her is the reason small shops like this one go out of business. No one wants to have their time wasted, and give up their hard earned money for a "professional" service to be provided and met with mediocre service, the wrong order, and on top of that given an attitude and asked to pay extra to correct their mistakes and confusion; if I wanted as ordered! AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE WE'LL NEVER RETURN. WE'RE TAKING OUR BUSINESS AND OUR MONEY TO AN ESTABLISHMENT THAT TREATS THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH COURTESY AND RESPECT, THAT DOESNT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS WHEN INTRUSTING THEM WITH OUR BUSINESS ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS OR EVENTS. They should be ashamed of therselfs, and they should seriously look in to new hires! Save yourself the hassle of having to deal with the same kind of experience, and go elsewhere!

We were never able to resolve the situation and the cakes were left as is unfortunately. Communication was fine up until the end when it mattered most. She has an automated answering machine that won't let you get into direct contact with her and the only other way to reach her was email. I'm really disappointed that this happened to us on the day of the wedding. We had confirmation that she would be there at 3 and my husband arrived at the venue at 3:05 so within that timeframe she was already gone.

The texture is almost that of whipped cream cheese (which it probably is) but slightly loose (if this makes sense). The important point: it doesn't get hard. I left a cupcake on my desk at work for probably a few hours and the frosting did not go stale. Anyhow, I recommend Little D's.
