Strawberry & Banana on white cake. Thank You for such a cute and delicious cake.
Sandy L.

Strawberry & Banana Cake Very soft and moist. Thank you for a delicious and delightful cake.

Purple ombré chocolate vanilla cake with fresh strawberry whipped cream. I added the fresh flowers and rhinestone cake topper.

This bakery never disappoints! The fresh strawberry and whipped cream is so light and satisfying - not super sweet! Guests enjoyed the cake with seconds being served. I decorated the cake just before we left the bakery! Cake was ready when we arrived and the shop helped box and tent the cake for our car travel to the venue. Recommend for your party and events!

Confetti cake w/ vanilla custard filling!

Ruby Bakery always comes through! My daughter made a last minute request for a Confetti cake w/ vanilla custard filling and whip cream frosting in Tiffany Blue- they made it happen in 24 hours, so grateful. I normally would get their FRESH Strawberries in Vanilla cake w/ whip cream & sliced almonds for special occasions and birthdays - FYI, they have them readily available for purchase in different sizes and I believe they have other fresh fruit choices to choose from like mango and peach, as well. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed. 10 out of 10 for me.

Wide variety of yummy selections- A couple of tables/chairs inside. Street parking. Custom cakes can be ordered. Cakes, cookies, pastries are delicious- I've yet to be disappointed. Friendly staff. Cash or Zelle only.

Cash only. ATM inside. Some parking in rear. Street metered parking or just walk about 1 block for free parking. We called ahead to order their special mango cake. We called two hours earlier to confirm and they weren't sure if it was ready but they were able to make sure to have one ready. It was delicious and pretty! Well packed in the box.

I've been going to Ruby's bakery for years and it has never disappointed! My favorite pastries are the eclair, the butterfly and of course the chocolate and coconut kisses. I've also had their strawberry cake and mango cake and both are super delicious. I ordered a custom cake for the first time recently and was SO impressed. It looked exactly like the inspo pic I sent , was super affordable and was so gorgeous. The birthday girl was so excited and it was so delicious!! 100% recommend. I added the butterflies (just a quick Amazon purchase) but the rest was the work of the amazing bakers and decorators.

Beautiful and delicious cake. Been ordering at Ruby bakery for many years. The cake was moist and the buttercream so good.

The perfect Kirby cake and cupcakes for my son's 5th birthday. I emailed and came in person to make changes and specifications regarding design and order a couple of times and they delivered more than I could have asked for. Note- I smashed the right side when I took the cake out of the box but it was fine and everyone loved it.

These days, it's hard to find quality at a fair price. I absolutely love Ruby Bakery! I typically go for the chocolate with strawberry filling, but their vanilla-strawberry is also popular and delicious. The cake is light, fluffy, and doesn't taste overly sweet (I.e., I don't experience sugar crashes after consumption).

24 cupcakes and 9inch round. We had 35 guests. Not much was leftover

Do they have non-fruit flavors? driving out from west LA to celebrate a birthday in Eagle Rock. Thinking of getting a cake here but wanted to make sure there would be a cake the celebrant would like. Thanks!

Yes they have chocolate, vanilla, etc. even marble cake! Highly recommend this place you won't regret it. You'll probably consider making the drive whenever you need a cake 😂

We went on a weekday around 11am and there was still a good selection of pastries, but sadly some were sold out already. elderflower rhubarb danish (4.5/5): one of their brunch specials and it was delightfully tart but sweet at the same time. the flavors really balanced each other out. passion fruit cruffin (4.8/5): my favorite from this visit. you can really taste the passion fruit and it was tart and sweet but not too sweet. very balanced flavor. if anything I wish they had added more passion fruit. garlic chive knot (4/5): another one of their brunch specials. also pretty good but I just wish there was more garlic and chives. the flavor was more mild than I'd prefer but it was still good. parking: small parking lot but there is street parking options available. seating: good amount of outdoor seating I think shared with the rest of the plaza but it wasn't too busy when I went. **when adding an update to my 2025 review I accidentally removed the original pastry photo from then so I had to add it back in **

Orange Blossom Almond Croissant -personally was disgusting, orange blossom was extremely strong. Too fragrant that it tasted like a floral bath bomb or soap. Some do like this but it wasn't for me. Tofu Cloud Croissant Toast -cream on top was pretty salted, to help balance the carnalized sugar that helps press the croissant into a toast. Overall, it wasn't wasn't bad but wasn't good and slightly too salted. Passionfruit Croiffin- texture of the croissant/muffin was great! Buttery, flaky and light. Passionfruit cream filling wasn't too sweet. I loved the tart passionfruit seeds. But you might want to scoop some out if you don't enjoy too much sourness. Elderflower Rhubarb Danish - way too crunchy, would prefer it to be crispy instead of a crunch. Filling was good, not too sweet. Black Sesame Parisian Flan -if you love black sesame, this would be right up your alley. Perfect sweet treat to bring to any auntie's home! Blueberry Tea Scone -not too dense. Surprisingly not too sweet even with the demerara sugar coating. It wasn't really crunchy but more sticky and caramelized from sitting.

No complaints at all on the quality, you can tell they put a lot of care into what theyre making. The staff was pretty nice and helpful when we were trying to figure out what to order since we couldnt really decide. Not a huge deal but it was a busy morning and things moved along pretty smoothly. Some of their menu items include limited to soft bread loaves, sweet pastries, as well as savory steamed buns. It is also one of the many places you can stop at while shopping or dining at the many other shops and restaurants in Little Tokyo. The menu at Yamazaki Bakery is one that is most notable! There are a variety of baked goods available at Yamazaki (e.g., the green tea roll cake and the strawberry cream roll), there are also other classic options like (e.g., cream puffs, matcha cream puffs) in addition to the some other unique options at Yamazaki (i.e., the curry filled bun, the nikuman steamed buns, and the jalapeno cheese dog). In addition to these traditional options, the light fare offered by the bakery (e.g., the fruit cream sandwich) provides a viable alternative as well! There is a second location in South San Pedro Street with similar lineup of fresh breads and treats. While we visited Yamazaki Bakery, we ended up getting the following Apple Cheesecake Baked Cheesecake Curry Bun The apple cheesecake and the baked cheesecake tasted very similar. Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I also tried the Korean chamoe (melon) smoothie, and it was very refreshing. It tasted like they used real melon, since there was a slight natural tanginess that made it even better. I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
