My chicken cake! Confetti cake with fresh strawberry filling and pastry cream.

I ordered a cake from Laura and it was delicious, I wanted a wacky design and it came out better than expected. I frequently order quirky cakes and have changed where I get it from every time trying to find someone who not just makes a good looking cake, but a great tasting one and Laura knocked it out the park! When I place orders I don't tell people that I'm a chef and have my own catering business, so I definitely know good food, and the cake I got from Chubby Cheek Cakes is one of the best I've had in awhile. I now know where I'll be getting my cakes every time!

The absolute best to do it in the game! She kills it every time. My family had used her a countless amount of times from holidays to birthdays to engagements to graduations! She is so professional and always delivers above expectations. My favorite is her marble cake!! Her creativity and ability to create what you want is honestly jaw dropping. She is so talented and am always so excited to see how the final product comes out. Love love love Lauras work and am a customer for life!!

The most delicious cake I have ever ate! I have ordered cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, smash cake, and fondue cakes for multiple occasions. The best was my son's first birthday! She said I would have a little left over but everyone ate the whole 3 tier cake! It was strawberry with cream cheese frosting. I'll post pictures so you can see the beautiful details she put on my cookie! I asked her to match it with my centerpieces and she went above and beyond what I could have imaged. Thank you Laura and I look forward to future events.

Chubby cheek cakes is the best!! She did such a beautiful job on my daughter's first birthday cake. She has a true talent and an apparent love for cake design. Not to mention the cakes always taste 10/10. Love to support a small business like this one where the customer service is excellent.

I have nothing but good things to say about Laura! It's really CCC or nothing for me. Laura has outdone herself every single time. She has created beautiful & delicious cakes for all my events; starting with my proposal, bridal shower, & wedding! I've also ordered cupcakes from here on every single holiday. Forever grateful for her professionalism, talent, & detailed delivery.

Exactly what I wanted! Beautiful

All you have to do is look at the reviews. They are all true. Laura is very easy to work with your concepts becoming reality. She is detailed oriented and her cakes are moist and flavorful. Definitely worth the price. Thank you for making another party a successful one!

Absolutely loved our experience with Chubby Cheeks. Laura was a pleasure to work with and was genuinely excited about our order. She was able to make an absolutely adorable and tasty "pink Santa" cake for my daughter's birthday. She got it done incredibly quickly as I placed the order pretty last minute. I gave her very little instruction, and I'm so glad I trusted her to do what she does best! Cost was over our budget but certainly reasonable for what we ultimately received. Served 50+ people and paid around $365.00

My theme was "what's the scoop" so these are melting ice cream cones. They are chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting.

Laura is the best at what she does! She has made quite a few cakes and dessert for me over the last 10 years and I have never been disappointed. She recently made my baby shower cake and OH. My. God. It was absolutely gorgeous! I showed her a picture of 2 different cake designs that I wanted incorporated into one cake and boy did she deliver. She has also made cupcakes for my gender reveal and a few other birthday cakes that have already been posted by the person I had them made for.

Laura is amazing!!! Placed an order for a custom cake to celebrate my 30th and she did not disappoint! The cake was stunning, tasted delicious and she blew me away by using real red roses Would definitely recommend ordering with Chubby Cheek Cakes.

The sweetest cake for the sweetest little girl! Thank you Laura for this beautiful classic birthday cake for my baby girl! Simplicity at its best! I ordered the Confetti birthday cake with Chantilly cream and it was a huge hit, especially with the older generation who say that every cake is too sweet lol. The combination of the Chantilly cream created the perfect balance. Thank you again Laura! You have a long time customer :)

Ohhhh, this was SO GOOD! The texture and richness were absolutely heavenly. *UBE CRACK CHEESECAKE: ADDICTING! Rich, creamy ube cheesecake that had me questioning which dessert I loved more. One of the very few good things that did come out was this vendor. With this horrible heat during the Mexico game and basically no shade at all for the VIP section, we were left thirsty and craving something delicious to hit the spot. Swirlies came in clutch during these times of need. Had to order 6 vanilla-flavored ice creams, some with some chocolate drizzle, and when I tell you, they hit the spot! Wow! The ice cream was so good, and the service was good and quick, and the cashier was sweet, answering all my questions about their ice cream since I had never tried it before and had questions regarding size and options for kids. All was answered kindly and timely; we were charged and had all 6 ice creams within 5 minutes of paying despite the long lines and despite them selling out all weekend. Swirlies is an ice cream truck you don't want to skip; if it's located at any event you are at, you must try it out. You will not regret it. I had such a great experience at Modu Cafe today…read more I ordered an iced latte and a matcha latte, and both were excellent. The coffee was smooth, and the matcha had a rich, balanced flavor without being overly sweet. What really stood out to me, though, was the bakery. The pastry display was absolutely beautiful--it felt more like an art exhibition with a subtle Japanese aesthetic than a typical bakery. I tried the Milk Cream Bun and the Miso Cinnamon Roll. The Milk Cream Bun was light and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness. The Miso Cinnamon Roll completely surprised me. I was curious how miso would work in a cinnamon roll, but it didn't taste noticeably like miso. Instead, it added a subtle savory umami that elevated the sweetness of the cinnamon roll beautifully. It was unlike anything I've had before. This place left such a great impression that I already want to come back and try the rest of the pastries. Highly recommended!

From waiting in line to receiving our drinks, the whole process took a little under 10 minutes. Parking is street parking only, but it's pretty easy. There are plenty of marked spaces nearby, and the streets are wide, so getting in and out of the spots isn't difficult. We ordered a Matcha Latte and Hojicha Latte with cream tops, which cost extra to add and brought each drink to around $8. Visually, they looked really promising, and from what I could see, everything was being hand whisked. Unfortunately, the drinks missed the mark for me. The matcha was smooth and not overly sweet, but it leaned more grassy, while I personally prefer matcha with nuttier notes. That part really just comes down to preference. The hojicha was more disappointing. It was still a little powdery, which was distracting, and I found it quite sweet. I was told it was lightly sweetened with agave, but the sweetness seemed to overpower some of the hojicha flavor. The hojicha itself seemed like it had a good flavor underneath, but everything together just didn't work for me. The cafe has a nice atmosphere and a pretty expansive menu, so it's possible I would've had a different experience with other items. However, considering how busy it was in the middle of a weekday, I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a reliable work or study spot. The staff was fine, but nothing particularly stood out about the service either. Overall, I've had much better matcha and hojicha elsewhere, especially at this price point. Modu Cafe unfortunately wasn't for me, and I'm not sure I'd come back specifically to give it another try.

Since we're constantly bouncing between Eagle Rock and Orange County, a box of these sweet little beauties has basically become our required cargo for the drive back to OC. Their donuts are ridiculously fluffy and delicious, but those berry cronuts? LORD HAVE MERCY. Highly addictive and absolutely dangerous to anyone pretending to have self-control. Their vegan options are fantastic too--and no, we're definitely not vegan. We just tried them out of curiosity. If a T-Rex somehow had a human child, that would probably be me, so... yeah, no. But even I have to admit, they're GOOD! The kids love the custard cream-filled donuts, while the perfectly sweet-and-tangy raspberry and lemon-filled ones never survive the ride home. Yum! The shop itself is cute, bright, spotless, and welcoming, but the staff really make this place special. Always cheerful, kind, and genuinely delightful--some of the best customer service around. But one of the originators of ambitious ice cream was Tai Kim, the Cordon Bleu-trained mind behind Scoops. Kim opened his first location in East Hollywood over 20 years ago, offering flavor combos that even nowadays would raise eyebrows. Remarkably, even today, Scoops remains a popular mainstay in the LA ice cream scene. The Highland Park shop admittedly feels less posh than its aesthetic neighbors. The whitewashed interior is decorated with abstract, vaguely ice cream-themed artwork. Uncushioned wooden benches are pressed to either wall. The menu is chalked onto a blackboard behind the ice cream display. A giant fiberglass waffle cone is pressed into the back corner. Instrumental piano music plays quietly in the background. My partner and I visited on a weekend evening, and Scoops boasted a steady stream of customers. We sampled a handful of flavors before settling on our top two. My partner's favorite was the signature Brown Bread. The milkshake-like texture melted smoothly on the palate, while the Grapenuts maintained an addictive crunch. But don't sleep on the dairy-free flavors -- we also loved the oat milk-based Cookie Butter Oreo. Although slightly more icy (somewhere between sorbet and true ice cream), the base tasted evenly of speculoos with cookie pieces mixed in. The service was patient and friendly, and the prices felt reasonable. The $5 "Kid Scoop" size was surprisingly generous in portion, and the "single" scoop could actually be split across 2 flavors. What Scoops shop lacks in aesthetics, it more than makes up for in ice cream quality and quantity. This is not a place where you can eat your ice cream inside so plan to take it elsewhere!
